The Ellis Island Connection...... (Some) Newfoundlanders at Ellis Island 1892 - 1924
- This site provides an alphabetical listing of individuals, identified as Newfoundlanders, who entered the USA via the port of New York (Ellis Island) during the years from 1892 to 1924. This site is structured to eliminate problems usually encountered when trying to directly search the heavily congested Ellis Island website. However, if a name of interest is selected by a researcher, all further research for the selected individual can be advanced directly to analyze various views and details on the Ellis Island website. This approach results in vastly improved access time, since it eliminates the main roadblock, the search itself. This site also includes some information on the ships used in the early Newfoundland passenger service to Canada (Halifax) and the USA (New York).
