THE BRUCE & DAWE FAMILY TREE

  • The Bruce Family came from Scotland, the first John Bruce for whom we have any data was born in Scotland and went to France about the time of the Napoleonic Wars. He married there and moved to the Codroy Vally in Newfoundland in the early 1830's.
  • The Daw/Dawe Family came from Wincanton, Somerset, England. Job Daw was the son of Samuel and Hannah Daw and came to Newfoundland and settled in Greenspond, Bonavista Bay in the late 1820's or early 1830's.
