Cathedral of St John the Baptist
(St. John's Anglican Cathedral)

BURIALS FROM
BOX 1 - 1784 - 1803
BOX 6 - 1793 - 1855
NOTE: there are 2 copies of the burials, one earlier than the other, the second being presumably a very old transcription of the first. The second is referred by me as the alternate or ‘alt ‘for shortin this transcription. There are burials in the older version that were omitted in the second versionI suspect even the older version is a transcription itself, from notes or whatever form in which the minister kept the original information. It was necessary to refer back and forth; sometimes whatwas illegible in the first record was easier to read in the second. However sometimes the originalrecord was clearer. There are other differences as well which are indicated as necessary

Other:
The date is always the date of burial not of death, unless otherwise given.

There is an abbreviation which looks something like a 'y' with a curvy line over it, believedto be a short form of "the" or sometimes "of the". The original expression may have been "of ye". I have put (the) in brackets in its place. "Dr" means “daughter". "N/g" means not given.

I have found it at times almost impossible to tell the difference in the writing between"Mr." and "Wm." Most of the time I believe it is Mr. However, some of the times that you see "Mr" below may possibly be Wm.

PAGES ARE OUT OF ORDER IN THE REGISTER: There is also a second version or transcription of the earlier burials
