This is to certify that BERTRAM JONES, Minister of Christ Church, Bonavista, Bachelor, and EMMA SWEETLAND of Trinity, Spinster, were married at St. Paul’s Church this 9th day of October, in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Forty-Eight by me, Todd Thos. Jones, Asst. Min.

This marriage was solemnized between us – Bertram Jones, Emma Sweetland, in the presence of us: Thos M Woods, Rector of Trinity; R Sweetland, Tryphena? Sweetland, B. F. Carter, Frank E Mayham?, N Sweetland, Il Sweetland, and  R. Sweetland witnesses present at the said marriage.


This is to certify that RICHARD MILLAR of Careless Harbour, Bachelor, and ANN COOPER of Ireland’s Eye, Spinster, were married at St. Paul’s Church, Trinity, this thirtieth day of October, one thousand eight hundred and forty-eight by me, Thos. M. Wood, Clergyman.

 

This marriage was solemnized between us: Richard (X) Millar, Ann (X) Cooper, (X) being their marks. In the presence of Joseph (X) Millar and Jah ? (X) King, (X) being their marks, witnesses present at the said marriage.


This is to certify that WILLIAM MORRIS, bachelor, and CELIA CYNICK GRANITER ROTH, both of Trouty, were married at St. Paul’s Church, Trinity, this second? day of  November, one thousand eight hundred and forty-eight by me, Thos. M. Wood, Clergyman.

 

This marriage was solemnized between us – Wm. (X) Morris and Celia (X) Cynick. (X) being their marks. In the presence of us – James Morris and ??? (X) Morris, (X) being his mark, witnesses present at the said marriage.


This is to certify that AQUILA MAYBE? of Trouty and CAROLINE BAYLY of Trinity were married at St. Paul’s Church this ninth day of November, One thousand eight hundred and forty-eight, by me,Thos. M. Wood, Clergyman.

 

This marriage was solemnized between us:  Aquila (X) Maybe? and Charline? (X) Brown, (X) being their marks. In the presence of us Thos.(X) Late and Wm.(X) Maybe, (X) being their marks, witnesses to the above marriage.

 

Transcriber’s note: Bride’s surname is first given as Bayly, while in ‘witness section’ it appears to be “Brown”.


This is to certify that WILLIAM STONE of Old Bonaventure, bachelor,  and SUSAN GEORGE of Hearts Ease, spinster, were married at St. Paul’s Church, Trinity this eleventh day of November, One thousand eight hundred and forty-eight by me, Thos. M. Wood, Clergyman.

 

This marriage was solemnized between us, William (X) Stone and Susan (X) George, (X) being their marks. In the presence of us – Henry (X) Stone and Ab's (X) Stone, (X) being their marks, witnesses present at this marriage.


This is to certify that JAMES BUTLER of Ship Cove and MARY STOCKLEY of  Robin Hood, Spinster, were married at St. Paul’s Anglican Church this fourteenth day of November, One thousand eight hundred and forty-eight by me, Thos. M.Wood, Clergyman.

 

This marriage was solemnized between us, James (X) Butler and Mary (X) Stockley, (X) being their marks, in the presence of John (X) Butler and William (X) Stockley, (X) being their marks, witnesses at the said marriage.


This is to certify that JOHN SHEPPARD of Spaniards Bay, bachelor, and ANN WHITE of Salmon Cove, spinster, were married at Salmon Cove Church this eighteenth day of November, one thousand eight hundred and forty-eight by me, Thos. M. Wood, Clergyman.

This is to certify that CHARLES AINSWORTH, widower, and HANNAH GRANT, both of Trinity, were married at St. Paul’s Church, Trinity, this sixth day of May,  in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and forty-nine by me, Thos. M. Wood.

 

This marriage was solemnized between us, Charles Ainsworth? and Hannah Grant, in the presence of us, William? Rogers and MarkVerge, witnesses present at the said marriage.


This is to certify that WILLIAM HART and ELIZABETH FINCH? both of Trinity, were married at St. Paul’s Church, Trinity, this tenth day of May, in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and forty-nine by me, Thos. M. Wood, minister.

 

This marriage was solemnized between us, William Hart and Elizabeth Finch?, in the presence of us, William Kelson?, Ann Nelson, John Lockyer, Eliza Hart and three other unreadable names, witnesses to the said marriage.

 


This is to certify that DAVID LOCK and ADINA HISCOCK were married at Trinity this third day of August, one thousand eight hundred and forty-nine, by me, Thos. M. Wood, minister.

 

This marriage was in the presence of witnesses at the house of David Lock? ???, the father of the above. The woman being in an advanced state of pregnancy. J.W.


This is to certify that GEORGE LEDROE (?) and ADELAIDE WHITE were married at Saint Paul’s Church, Trinity this eleventh day of September, one thousand eight hundred and forty-nine by me, Thos. M. Wood.
