CHAISSON, James Francis
On July 22, 1985, James Francis Chaisson, a life-long farmer
and resident of the Codroy Valley passed away after five months of ill health
at the age of 93. He was predeceased in 1927 by his first wife, Elizabeth
(nee O’Quinn).
He is survived and deeply mourned by his widow Mary, (nee Hodder-Walters),
two sons Billy and Gerald, residing in the Codroy Valley; three daughters,
Catherine (Mrs. Walter Gale) and Rita (Mrs. Stan McDonald) of the Codroy
Valley, and Theresa (Mrs. John Barony), living in British Columbia; two sisters,
Frances (Mrs. Tom O’Quinn) of St. Andrews and Mary O’Quinn of
Windsor, Nova Scotia; two step-daughters, Edith (Mrs. S. J. Hart) of Indiana
and Maud (Mrs. Charles Dickens) of Michigan; two step-sons, Hubert Walters,
living in St. John’s and Alex Walters, living in British Columbia;
23 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and one great great grandchild and
many other relatives and friends. The remains rested at and the funeral services
were held from St. Anne’s Roman Catholic Church in Upper Ferry under
the direction of MacAulay Funeral Service Ltd., Rev. Father Maurice O’Quinn
and Rev. Father A.J. Gallant officiating with interment at the Mount St.
Thomas R.C. cemetery in Great Codroy. Services took place at 10:00 a.m.
on Thursday, July 15, 1985.

his 67th year. He leaves to mourn his wife Joanna, three daughters, Jean, Mrs.

of Stephenville. Three brothers Jerry, Larry and Adolph all of Stephenville.
Six sisters, Annie Quint of New Hampshire, Bedelia Lainey and Madeline White

and Sister Stephanie in Antigonish, N.S. Five grandchildren and a large circle

his 20th year. He leaves to mourn his parents Leo and Helen, one
step-brother Timothy and one step-sister Tracey in Frederickton, New Brunswick,
grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Howard Companion of Corner Brook and Mr. and Mrs.
Benjamin Cormier of Kippens and a large circle of friends. The funeral took
place this morning with 10 a.m. Mass from the church of St. Stephen’s,
West Street, interment services were held at the Receiving Vault.

Lake, Ontario, Agnes Laflin, Tempe, Arizona, and Veronica Short, Fort McMurray,
Twenty-three grandchildren, thirty-four great-grandchildren. Her husband Martin
predeceased her in January 1984. The funeral takes place Friday morning in
time for 10 A.M. Mass from St. Stephen’s Church on West Street with interment
in the Hillside Interfaith cemetery on the Hansen Highway. Her remains are
resting at the Funeral Home, 39 Queen Street.

Brenda and Arlene, both in Alberta, two brothers Emile and Joachim, both of

and Yvonne in Lourdes, two grandchildren and a large number of relatives and
friends. The funeral took place on Monday, February 22nd at 10 a.m. from St.
Stephen’s Parish
on West Street, interment was made in the Receiving Vault.

MACISAAC, Eion Patrick - 21, Clementsport, Digby County, died Tuesday in Waldec, Annapolis County. Born in Newfoundland, he was a son of John MacIsaac and the late Jean (MacDonald) MacIsaac. He was a member of the 1714 RCACC, Annapolis, and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 122, Clementsport. He is survived by a brother, Kevin, Halifax. The body is in Jayne's Funeral Home, Digby. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday in St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, Digby, Rev. Albenie D'Entremont officiating. Annapolis County man killed in hunting accident

A 21-year-old Clementsport, Annapolis County, man is dead following an apparent hunting accident near here early Tuesday night. Digby RCMP said Wednesday that Eion Patrick MacIsaac died of a single gunshot wound while sitting in a car in a wooded area near Victory, Annapolis County, approximately seven kilometres east of Bear River.
Police said the man was a passenger in a car on a woods road with three other people, when a loaded rifle discharged around 7 p.m. He died at the scene. No other details were available, but an RCMP spokesman said charges are not being considered. Contributor: Ivy F. Benoit
Ryan, John M
Passed away Wednesday, January 11, 1989, at St Mary's Medical
Center. Age 78 years. He was born in Newfoundland, Canada. He came to Detroit
as a young man and married Margaret Jaynes in Detroit Nov 28, 1935 moving to
Saginaw in 1946. He was a member of St Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, the K. of C. Father
Nouvel Council No. 4232, the Michigan Aviation Hall of Fame. Mr Ryan was an
inspector for professional wrestling and boxing, very active in the Golden
Gloves and the retired owner of Johnnies Ryan's Restaurant from 1946 to 1968.
He was a former Saginaw County Commissioner for 14 years from 1969 to 1983.
Mr Ryan was a member of the Michigan Northern Counties Association, East Central
Michigan Planning and Developing Association where he had been serving as treasurer
for the past six years.
Surviving besides his wife Margaret are one brother,
Richard Ryan, California, three sisters, Marie Patry, Newfoundland; Kathleen
Ryan and Esther Johnson, both of Halifax, Nova Scotia; many nieces and nephews.
Four brothers predeceased him, Leo, Frank, Patrick and Joseph.
Funeral service will take place 10:00 am Monday at St Thomas Aquinas Catholic
Church, Rev. John Tulko O.F.M. will officiate with interment in St Andrew's
Cemetery. Friends may call at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter off
State after 7:00 pm Saturday where the family will be present from 7:00 to
9:00 pm and 2:00 to 5:00 pm and 7:00 to 9:00 pm Sunday and at the church
on Monday from 9:00 am until time of service. There will be a prayer service
at 8:15 pm Sunday at the funeral home. Those who so desire may make memorials
to St. Mary's Medical Center Coronary Care Unit of St Thomas Aquinas Catholic
Church.

daughters Rona and Mary. The funeral took place on Monday afternoon, June 11,
with 2 p.m. mass from the Church of St. Stephen’s, West St., Stephenville
with interment being made in the Hillside Interfaith Cemetery on the Hansen
Highway.
