ARDLEY / GALLANT
Best wishes to Shawna Gwendolyn Ardley, daughter of Louise (nee French) and
Graham Ardley, and Jay Peter Gallant, son of Sharon (nee Hayes) and Phil
Gallant, who were married August 9, 2008. The delighted couple reside in
Toronto, ON.
BURTON / BENOIT
Amanda and Trevor exchanged wedding vows on Saturday, August
16th, 2008 at
the Wesley United Church in Port aux Basques, with Rev. Patricia Ritchie
officiating. Matron of honor, Denise Murcell-Francis (friend of the bride);
Bridesmaid, Jannatta Francis-Burton (sister-in-law of the bride); Best man,
Terrell Benoit (brother of the groom); Groomsman, Corey Burton (brother of
the bride); Ring bearer, Coady Burton (nephew of the bride); and flower girl,
Ava Burton (niece of the bride). Musical accompaniment provided by Dr. Doug
and Carl Cote and organist Ms. Hilda Pike. Trevor is the son of Alton and
Joyce Benoit of Kippens and Amanda is the daughter of Bruce and Doreen Burton
of Port aux Basques. Reception at the Lions Club. Trevor and Amanda would
like to thank family and friends and out of town guests who traveled from
afar to help celebrate their special day. The couple is now residing in Clarenville.
HOUNSELL - FILLATRE
Llew and Sandra Hounsell of Corner Brook are delighted to announce the marriage
of their daughter, Adrienne Elizabeth to Gerald Arthur Fillatre,
son of Winston and Louise Fillatre of St. George’s. The couple were married
in All Saint’s Church on August 2, 2008 by Rev. Derek Thomas.
Matron of Honor, Rebecca (Smith) Stevens, Kensington, CA. Best man, Brett Wolfe,
Yellowknife. Bridesmaids, Amanda Park, St. John’s and Charlene Savidant, Toronto.
Groomsmen, Bryce Miller, Prince George and Dave Abernethy, Yellowknife. Ring
Bearer, Allen Miller, nephew of the groom. Adrienne and Gerald were delighted
that family and friends traveled from France, the US and all across Canada
to help them celebrate their big day.
PENNEY / JANES
Tyson Penney would like to announce the marriage of his Mom, Lorraine,
to Cletus Janes on August 16th, 2008. Cletus not only
has a wonderful wife but an awesome son, also a great mother-in-law, Audrey
who sadly passed away a few short weeks after the wedding. Our thoughts are
with her. Thanks go out to numerous family and friends, with special thanks
to Deanne Byrne (maid of honor), who went well beyond what a true friend should
be. Diane Byrne for helping control the moose population (careful of the speedbumps
in NFLD Diane), and Carl Stewart for being there at the drop of a hat. We really
did marry our best friend on that day.

On August 15, 2008 Heidi Rodgers and John Calder were united in marriage at the
beautiful Cathedral Church of All Saints, Halifax, NS. Heidi and John were blessed
with family and friends from Halifax, Prince Edward Island, Corner Brook and
St. John’s, NL and many other provinces in Canada, as well their family from
the United States, London England, Scotland and from Arizona. A reception followed
at the Prince George Hotel, Halifax, NS. Heidi is the Granddaughter of Mary Follett,
Corner Brook, NL. John is the Grandson of Marguirite Ghiz, Prince Edward Island.
Family and friends would like to congratulate Heidi on receiving a Masters in
Social Work from Dalhousie University Convocation Oct. 18, 2008. Heidi and John
live and work in Halifax, NS with their dog Frazer. We love you both.
