Bill and Glenda Wayson of Benoit’s Cove are pleased to announce the engagement of their daugher Beverly, to Adam Baker, son of Gerald and Marlene Baker of Pasadena. Love and best wishes come from family and friends. Wedding preparations are being made for September 6, 2008.

Glenda (Roy) Cunning, of Corner Brook, and Timothy (Leigh) Thorne of St. John’s would like to announce the marriage of their daughter Amy Thorne to Justin Broderick, son of William and Trudy Broderick, of Corner Brook. A beautiful celebration and blessing of the marriage ceremony was held on July 7, 2007 at All Saints Church in Corner Brook. The bridal party consisted of 12 close friends and family members. Emily Cunning, sister of the bride, was Maid of Honor and Peter Broderick, brother of the groom, was Best Man. The happy couple currently live and work in Houston, Texas.

Joanne
, daughter of Emily and the late Leo Duffenais of Lourdes and Darryl, son of Ruby and Johnny Grimes of Corner Brook are pleased to announce their engagement which took place on July 20, 2007. A wedding is planned for the summer of 2008.

Elaine Vincent (Jerry O’Keefe) and David Buckle (Mary) are proud to announce the marriage of their son Scott to Corriena, daughter of Leonora and Mike Gillett of Calgary, Alberta. A beautiful garden wedding took place in Carstairs, Alberta on July 28, 2007. Maid of honor: Melissa Masters, friend of the bride; best man: Tom Callahan, friend of the groom; bridesmaid: Tammy Bulmer, friend of the bride; groomsman: Ryan Benner, friend of the groom: flower girl: Chloe Masters, Friend of the bride; ring bearers: Triston and Rayne; children of the bride. Scott and Corriena’s son Xavier also took in the festivities. Master of ceremonies was Ron Vincent, uncle of the groom. Scott is the grandson of Lina & Herbert Vincent and George & Isabell Buckle of Corner Brook. The happy family currently resides in Carstairs, Alberta.

GUSHUE / ADAMS
Congratulations to Joanne Gushue & Jerry Adams who were married July 7, 2007 at the Canadian Legion, Corner Brook. The ceremony was performed by Dianne Parsons, JP. Maid of honour was Valerie Power, cousin of the bride, and best man was Larry Hann, brother-in-law of the groom. Other attendants were Stephanie Cullihall, sister of the bride, Heather Gushue, daugher of the bride & groom and Ron & Tyler Borden, cousins of the bride. Dinner and dance followed with Lynn Borden as MC. Joanne, Jerry & Heather honeymooned in Florida. Best wishes come from Ray & Maxine Gushue, Corner Brook.

The bridal party consisted of Maid of Honor Heather Bell, sister of the bride, Best Man Ralph Martin, brother-in-law of the groom, Bridesmaid Marlene Lake, sister of the groom, Groomsman Fred Bell, brother-in-law of the bride, Bridesmaid Kim Caines, sister of the bride, Groomsman Leander Brophy, brother of the groom, Bridesmaid Veronica House, friend of the bride and groom, Groomsman Cornelius Brophy, brother of the groom, Bridesmaid Geraldine Brophy, sister of the groom, Groomsman Byron Robinson, cousin of the groom, Flowergirls: Katelyn Martin, niece of the groom, Jade House, niece of the bride, Ringbearer: Matthew House, nephew of the bride, Master of Ceremonies Ross Humber. Captain Rev. William Rice performed the beautiful ceremony. Love and best wishes from family and friends.

LAKE & IRWIN
Beatrice and Cyril Lake of Pasadena would like to announce the marriage of their daughter Sonya to Graeme Irwin, son of Clare and Peter Irwin of Guelph, Ontario. The wedding took place July 21, 2007 at the Irwin Cottage in Georgian Bay. The maid of honor was Cindy Lake Antel, cousin of the bride. Best man was Mike Slavinik, friend of the groom. The couple honeymooned in Europe. The happy couple reside in Calgary, Alberta.

MACDONALD - LILLY
On July 14, 2007 a beautiful wedding took place at Little Bonne Bay Pond between Christa, daughter of Audrey and Roger MacDonald and Dwayne, son of Florence and Melvin Lilly. The happy couple were surrounded by family and friends. Maid of Honor was Stephanie Mollon, best friend of the bride. Best Man was Darryl Wells, friend of the groom. Special thanks to Terri Lynn Penney for taking many beautiful pictures. Thanks to everyone who shared in making their day so special!

MURPHY / MEYER
Brian and Betty Murphy are proud to announce the marriage of their daughter Veronica to Dale Meyer, son of Alvin and Dolores Meyer, Hisler, Alberta. The wedding took place at Our Lady of the Sea Parish, Benoits Cove, NL on Friday, July 27, 2007. The wedding was officiated by Sister Mildred Chabassol, Veronica was given in marriage by her father, Brian. In attendance April Wells, matron of honor; Shelby Meyer, bridesmaid; Dennis Meyer, best man; Kyle Meyer, groomsman and Ernest Murphy, usher.
