Donald J. Alley
, 82, of Charleston, TN, passed away Saturday, December 31, 2016 in a local hospital. He was born a British citizen, and when Canada acquired Newfoundland, he became a Canadian citizen. After moving to Tennessee, he became a naturalized American citizen. He was employed with Bowater Paper Mill for 41 years. He attended First Baptist Church. He was a member of Alhambra Shrine, Cleveland Shrine Club and Masonic Lodge #134 F&AM.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leslie and Mildred Alley, and one sister and brother-in-law, Rita Evelyn and A. J. "Sandy" Candow; sister-in-law, Ruth Carroll and brother-in-law, Bill Carroll; brother-in-law, John Paul Douglas; niece, Sherry Forgey; and nephew, Greg Farr. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Betty Douglas Alley of Charleston; two daughters and spouses: Donna Simpson and Rick, and Melissa Woody and Dewey, all of Charleston; five grandchildren: Corey Simpson of Charleston, Courtney Davis and Ben, Ciara Woody, Piper Woody, all of Cleveland, and Dedra West and Adam of Washington Township, Michigan; two great grandchildren: Jesse and Ellie; two sisters: Rose Alley of Cleveland, and Sylvia Farr and Tom of Atlanta, Georgia; sisters-in-law: Easter Barnhart, Gladys Forgey and James and Ruby Douglas, all of Cleveland; nephews: Glenn Candow, Gary Candow, Tommy Farr, Jeff Farr, Danny Douglas and Tom Carroll; nieces: Beverly Carroll, Tammy Maxwell and Jonna Epperson; and several great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, January 4, 2017, at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with Pastor Jeannie Cissom and Pastor Tom Wickes officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Andrew Sherlin, Brian Smith, Jonathan Douglas, Jimmy Woody, Chris Epperson, Mike Woody and N.C. Cartwright serving as pallbearers. Members of the Cleveland Shrine Club will serve as honorary pallbearers.
His family will receive friends Tuesday, January 3, 2017, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home followed by a Masonic Service at 7:30 p.m. and on Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Leaving to mourn her husband of 46 years, Graham; daughter Susan and granddaughter Julie, love of her life. Predeceased by mother and father, Amelia and Arch Noseworthy. Left with loving memories, sisters: Gloria Somerton (Cos), Marjorie Bennett (David), Alice Hayes; brothers: Norman Noseworthy (Shirley), Rex Noseworthy (Archie) and a large number of relatives and friends (especially in Corner Brook). It is with great sadness that the family of the late Rita Jane Bath announce her passing at the Parkstone Enhanced Care Nursing Home in Halifax, NS on Sunday, December 18, 2016 at the age of 92 years. She was predeceased by her husband, Harold James Bath (August 2001). Friends may visit Oakland United Church on Thursday, December 22, 2016 from 10 a.m. - 12 Noon, from where the funeral service will take place at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Wendy Lowden officiating. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Clayton Blanchard announce his passing on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook at the age of 77 years. He will be sadly missed by his brothers: Ernest (Claudine), Roland (Gloria), Lawrence (Peggy), of Meadow's, Brian (Marie) McIver's, Jordy (Maureen) Norris Point; sisters: Avril and Anita Blanchard of Meadow's, Una Lovell Bay Shore Manor, and Jean Combdon of Jackson's Arm; brother-in-law David Hunt; very special aunt Lena Bolt and many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents: Arthur and Ethel Blanchard; sisters: Isabel and Olive; brothers: Wilfred and Randell; brothers-in-law: Garry Combdon and Nelson Lovell. Passed suddenly at her residence on Wednesday, December 14, 2016, Donna Jacqueline Brake, in her 48th year. Leaving to mourn her beloved husband of 22 years, Gerald; her parents James and Phyllis Brake; brother Michael and his wife Wanda; niece Michelle Samms (Michael) of Thunder Bay, ON; nephew Alexander Brake (Meghan), both of whom she truly adored and loved and who loved her dearly in return; special great niece Ilsa Samms, who Aunt Donna tried desperately to spoil rotten; brothers and sisters-in-law: Walter Brake, Calgary, Dale Tucker, Barrie, ON, Keirn Mercer (John), Paradise, NL, Rod Brake, Corner Brook, and Kim Brake, Barrie, ON, and their families. Donna also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, all of whom held a special place in her heart. She was predeceased by her older sister Norma (1964) and mother and father-in-law Walter and Mary Brake, as well as her special furry companion Scrappy. Donna was a very happy go lucky person, and despite her numerous health issues over the years, she lived life to the fullest, always ready with quick wit, a joke or funny comment. Very rarely was she not smiling and taking a humorous look at the world around her. She touched everyone she met with her kindness and love of life. Always one concerned for others, we have lost a precious and loving person. Friends may visit Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Meadows on Friday, from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. and Saturday, December 17, 2016 from 10 to 12 noon from where the Funeral Service will take place on Saturday at 2:00 PM with Reverend Malcom Palmer officiating. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife Annie, his children: Bill Jr. (Amanda), Chad (Jennifer), Lynn (Harold Chubb), Mason (TeeJay Jesso), his grandchildren Brady, Riley, Chad Jr., Meagan, Larissa, Chloe, Adrian, Ameron and Charlie. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Doris Muriel Byrne announce her passing at the Palliative Care Unit, Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital on Saturday, December 31st, 2016 at the age of 73 years. She leaves in sorrow with fond and loving memories her children Clinton (Karen) Byrne, Laura (Ameir) Byrne, Pamela (Andre) Rossignol, Robert (Greg) Byrne and Mark (Millie) Byrne, her grandchildren Robyn (Michael) Bissonnette, Megan (Corey) Canniff, Kimberly (Derek) Pelley, Adrian (Julia) Byrne, Jordan (Charlie) Rossignol, Mark Strickland, Melissa Byrne, Brooke Rossignol, Jesse Byrne and Jacob Byrne. Her dearly loved great-grandchildren Taylor, Zachary, Evan, Toby, Michael, Abigail, Ella, Autumn, and Dylan. Formerly of Birmingham, England, he has been a long time member of the Corner Brook community and involved in many clubs including chess, bowling and bridge. His true passion was reading which lead him to become a member of the Corner Brook Public Library Board. On December 23, 2016 John Kirkland Noël of Kamloops, BC passed away peacefully with his family by his side and in his heart. John was born on August 19, 1933 in Corner Brook, Newfoundland. He married Deloris in 1956 in Saskatoon, Sask., where they lived until 1965 at which time they moved to Kamloops, BC. John started working for the City of Kamloops shortly after they moved to Kamloops and continued his long career working in road construction department until his retirement in 1995. He was well respected by his crew and co-workers whom always have kind words to say about John. John is survived by his wife of 60 years, Deloris; sons Leslie (Lonnie) and Terry (Karen); grandchildren Lindsay O'Hearn (Sean), Stephanie (Andrew), Brett, Jonathan, Brooklyn, Cassidy, Nicole and precious little great-grandchildren Madison and Peyton O'Hearn. He is also survived by his sister Lucille and brother Bert (Dot) from Corner Brook and many other relatives and friends in Newfoundland, Saskatoon and Kamloops. Predeceased by his parents Mary and Emile Noël; brothers Marcel, Valmore and Emile; sisters Simone Campbell, Peggy Sparrow, Marcheta Dunphy, all from Newfoundland, as well as other relatives and friends from Newfoundland, Saskatoon and Kamloops. John enjoyed playing baseball in his younger days on the Katts ball team, fishing at Badger Lake and listening to his Newfie tunes! We will never forget how fun it was listening to his many stories of his life back home in Newfoundland ... "Stay where you're at and I'll come where you're to" ... he would say this with a big smile on his face and a little chuckle too! John was a quiet man of few words and chose his words wisely. He was a wonderful and kind husband, father and grandfather "Papa" and great-grandfather and he will be dearly missed by all of us, especially his crazy dog Padro. The family would like to especially thank their Aunties Shelley Capostinky and Alice Haugen for their love and support over the last year and for always being there when we need them. It is with great sadness that the family of Roy Maxwell Pennell (Johnny) wishes to announce his passing on Tuesday, December 20th at the age of 87. He will be greatly missed by his children: Glenda (Rob) Garnier, Roy, Barbara (Sandy) Caines, Brian, Lorna (Dave) Bursey and his nine grandchildren: Julian (Lisa) Garnier, Vicki (Don Nickerson) Caines, Samantha (Greg) Delos Santos, Ryan and Dylan Pennell, Jamie Giles, Terri (TJ) Higdon, Mitchell Pennell, Sarah and Jenny Bursey. Johnny had 12 great-grandchildren: Robbie, Ben, Luke, Manny, Alex, Caden, Braxton, Jace, Danielle, Samantha, Curtis, Christina, Cohen, Hudson and Graydon. He is survived by his two sisters: Phyllis (Fred) Doucette and Lorna (Frank) Chaffey. Johnny was predeceased by his wife of 62 years, Minnie Downer, his parents: Sam & Ethel; his brothers: Reuben, Willie & Walter; his sister, Jean and his daughter-in-law, Pam Pennell. Johnny was a family man who was proud of his family and loved for them to visit. He cared for his parents, his neighbors, his friend, Aunt Rhoda Whiteway and his siblings for many years. He loved animals. He worked for the Deer Lake Power Company for 40 years and loved his work. He volunteered as Fire Chief in the early days of the Deer Lake Fire Department. He was loved by his family and friends and held in high regard. He was a lifelong member and volunteer for St. Michaels and All Angels Anglican Church. Marilyn Roberts (nee Fradsham) of Flowers Cove Newfoundland, beloved wife of the late Clyde Roberts. Loved and cherished mother of Craig Roberts (Anna), Pembroke, Jaye Roberts, NL, and Deirdre Power (Bill), Ottawa. Loving grandmother of Cameron and Kendra Roberts. Dear sister of Margaret Taylor (Donald), NL and the late Jean (June) Rose, Sylvia (Sunny) Griffin, Ella Crewes, Linda Fradhsam and Albert Fradsham. Daughter of the late Walter and Gladys (nee March) Fradsham of NL. Craig, Jaye, Deirdre and Families would like to thank Mike and Pearl Walsh who are like family and for being such special friends. We would also like to thank the amazing medical team and Staff at the Pembroke Regional Hospital. They made Mom's stay as comfortable as possible and treated us with professionalism, compassion and kindness. ROOSINCK, John Cecil

How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth! Isaiah 52:7. John Cecil Roossinck, 74, of Corner Brook, NL was peacefully called home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, December 7, 2016. Cecil was born in Grand Rapids, MI on November 24th, 1942. He and his wife Marjorie (Pilkington) were married on August 22, 1970. Together, in obedience to the Lord's call on their lives, moved to the island to preach the gospel. For many summers in numerous communities, the message of peace with God was proclaimed to all who came to the Gospel Tent meetings. Cecil and Marjorie started a small Christian bookstore, Bible Truth Supply, in the basement of their home in 1973. In the early 1980's it was expanded and moved to 35 Broadway. After a fire destroyed the building in 2002, the business moved to 98 Broadway. Later the store moved into the Valley Mall where it continues today. Cecil is the beloved husband of Marjorie (Pilkington); Father to Reg & (Beth) Roossinck - grandchildren Erin and Colin of Bolton, ON; Bernie & (Becky) Roossinck - grandchildren Shannon, Brittney, Rachel and Allison of Grant, MI; Benjie Roossinck of Corner Brook, NL; Ruth & (Joe) VandenBerg - grandchildren Josiah, Caleb, Sarah, Elizabeth, Hannah, Silas and Benjamin of Cedar Springs, MI; and Bethany Roossinck of Corner Brook, NL. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ralph G. Wilton announce his passing on Sunday, December 25, at Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook at the age of 85 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his step-children: Joan Pickrell, Patsy Park, Norma Coish and Jerry Ryan; step-grandchildren: Maureen, Joan, Susan, Glenn, Lisa, April, Peter, Pat, Jerry, Nelson, Justin, Heather, David, Sharon, Cathy, Stephen, Rita and Jackie; and numerous great-grandchildren; siblings: Mary (William) Coles, Ann (Fred) Ford, Jean Kaye, Robert Wilton, Patsy (Lorne) Good, Sheila (Roy) Hicks, Judy Park, Pauline Wilton, and Danica Cossitt and a circle of other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his common-law partner Rita Ryan; step-son Nelson Ryan; parents: Gordon and Maude Wilton; sisters: Shirley Wilton and Betty Mahoney; brothers: Ronald Wilton and Hezekiah Wilton. Cremation has taken place. Funeral Service will take place from Sacred Heart Parish, Curling on Friday, December 30 at 11 AM with Father Don Leonard officiating. Interment will take place at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Prostate Foundation. WOODMAN, Harry David
Born: July 17th, 1946
Passed on: December 26th, 2016

Passed peacefully away with his family by his side, Harry David Woodman on Monday, December 26, 2016 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital at the age of 70 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Maureen of 49 years; sons: John (Lisa) and Scott (Amanda); grandchildren: Kayla, Riley, Ryan, Sophie, and Ethan; brothers: Walter (Patsy), Melvin (Shirley), and Clarence (Rita); sisters: Neta Williams and Brenda Gordon; brother-in-law Nathaniel (Eva) Payne; sisters in-law: Lucy Payne, Geraldine Gaslard, Margaret Payne, Shirley (Dennis) Gaslard, Loretta Payne, Jean Woodman, and Joanne Woodman and a large circle of nieces nephews other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents John and Lydia Woodman; brothers: Reginald, Arthur, and Dereck Woodman; parents-in-law: Alexander and Agnes Payne; brothers-in-law: Gordon, Harold, Karl, Clifford, Joseph and Richard Williamson; sisters-in-law: Marina Payne and Mavis Hatcher. The family would like to send a very special thank you to Dr. Desiree Dunn, Dr. Kathy Lafferty, Dr. Young and all the staff at Palliative Care for your love and compassionate care of Harry during his time there. Visitation will take place from Fillatre's Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark's Avenue on Wednesday, December 28th from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Funeral service will be held at First United Church on Thursday, December 29th at 2 PM with Reverend Harry Whitehorn officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery.
