FRASER, Kathryn "Judith" (nee Monaghan)
Passed on: November 7th, 2016

On November 7, 2016 Judith completed her "to do" list, with her loving children at her side, she passed peacefully away. Her amazing spirit has always been reflected by her favourite poem, "Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain." She will be forever remembered by her children Susan (Edgar, Emily, Julia, Heather), Steven (Melanie, Holly, Theodore) and Sara (David, Katie, Thomas, Charles), her sister Patricia Hatch (Dr. George Hatch pre-deceased), sister in law Ursula Monaghan (Judge Michael Monaghan pre-deceased), sister In law Glenda Ivany (Gordon) as well as her treasured friends of many years Frances and Cyril Vardy, Ann O'Rourke, Jim and Diane Butt, Mary-Ann Murphy as well as cherished and treasured friend Patricia Dormody. She also held dear to her heart her nieces and nephews Mary Flynn (Ed, Michael and Lauren), Carolyn Beausoleil (Stephane, Nicolas and Simon), Janice Morris (Eric, Gwyneth, Evan and Clara), Michael Hatch (Meagan, Isabelle and Sophie), Tom Monaghan (Shawne, Ryan and Grayson), Peter Monaghan (Tracy, Joy and Lina) and Andrew Monaghan. After returning to Corner Brook in the mid 60's Judith became involved in the arts movement, which included the Playmakers which forged deep and lifelong friendships which last to this very day. Judith's professional career started as the only dietitian west of St. John's - as such she spent time traveling all over Western Newfoundland teaching food service supervisor courses. She taught nutrition and dietetics at WMRH Nursing School and had a weekly cooking show on CBC as well as being a commentator for CBC Radio for many years. Her professional career was transferred into her family life as she entertained family and friends with style and grace. Judith was the ultimate cook. Despite her professional accomplishments, her children and grandchildren were her life. Special mention to Judith's bridge friends, they brought fun, laughter and support throughout her life. The family is most grateful to Judith's neighbours Len and Linda who for so many years supported her whether she was home or away and to Ruth Clevorick who has been such helpful and attentive neighbour. Many thanks to Dr. Tony Tavenor, Dr. Steward Rorke and Dr. Christopher Healey. A special thank you to Dr. Scott Moffatt who supported her and the family in her final days.
