It is with great sadness that the family of the late Lawrence Crocker announce his passing on Tuesday, October 30th, 2007 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital at the age of 62 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, his companion and friend: Mary Evelyn (Niv) Barnes; one son: David White, Trout River; three grandchildren: Rebecca, Courtney and Tiffany; one great grandchild; one brother: Ralph (Kim) Crocker, Trout River; five sisters: Melissa Brake (Roland), Trout River, Georgina (Milton) Blanchard, Woody Point, Theresa (Wayne) Noseworthy, Corner Brook, Shirley (Myron) Sheppard, Corner Brook and Vida (Bruce) Brake, Corner Brook; brother-in-law: Gerry Stahan, USA; 12 nieces and nephews, 14 great nieces and nephews; Aunt Cindy Brake, Brampton, ON, as well as many more relatives and friends. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Douglas Chaffey announce his passing at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital, Stephenville on Sunday, October 28, 2007 at the age of 73 years. He will be sadly missed by his very special friend, Margaret Aucoin of South Branch; one brother, William (Phyllis) Chaffey of Jeffrey’s; two sisters: Marie (Bernard) Carew of St. John’s, Shirley White of Stephenville and a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Benjamin and Martha Chaffey; brothers: Eldon, Wesley, Russell and sisters: Alberta, Hilda, Mary and Lydia. Cremation has taken place. Funeral service will take place on Saturday, November 3rd at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Magdalene Church in Jeffrey’s with interment in the Anglican Cemetery in St. David’s. She was predeceased by her loving husband James, infant son Robert and son Bronzan. passed peacefully away at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital, Stephenville in the presence of her loving family on Wednesday, October 31, 2007 at the age of 61 years. Left with fond and loving memories are her husband of 37 years, James; her sons: Jonah (Sandy) of Brampton, Ontario and Rian (Alicia) of Orangeville, Ontario; one precious grandson, Jaylen of Brampton, Ontario; her mother, Regina Benoit; sisters: Nora (Ron Drake) and Thelma (Alfred Duffney); two half-sisters: Jocelyn Benoit and Janice Ross; four half-brothers: Roger, Norman, Reginald and Brian Benoit; her many nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Predeceased by her father, Ralph Greene and her step-father, Wilfred Benoit. It is with deep heartache that we announce the passing of our brother, Christopher (Chrissy) John Chynn on Wednesday at Western Memorial Regional Hospital at the age of 47. He leaves to mourn with cherished and loving memories: his sister, Sharon (Albert) Anstey, Deer Lake, with whom he resided; his brothers: Barry (Joanne) Chynn, Timberlea, NS and Tony (Charlene) Chynn, Stephenville, NL. He will be missed by his nieces: Katie, Jenna, Zoe and nephews: Kenneth, Ryan and Matthew. He taught them so many things that they will take with them their whole lives. A large circle of aunts, uncles, extended family and friends, also a group of very special caregivers are in mourning today. He was predeceased by his parents, Kenneth and Daisy Chynn; grandparents, Prudence and George Chynn, Harriet and John Wight. For those of you who live with Cerebral Palsy, or love someone with this disease, you know what courage and strength it must have taken for Chris to reach the age of 47 years. He faced each challenge with a smile and a fierce determination that helped him live long after 15 years of age. Passed away as the result of a tragic motor vehicle accident at the age of 80 years. He leaves to mourn his devoted wife & friend of 53 years Beverley “Babs” (Fifield), seven dear children; sons Hardy (Beverley) in Appleton, William (Angie) in Frederickton, daughters Marilyn (Kerry Reid), Beverley Penney (Butch Vardy), Cindy (Chad Hussey), Jean (Bain Stratton), and Joan, all of Corner Brook; three special grandchildren (Andrew Reid, Heather Reid & Riley Chaulk); only brother Hardy Miles (Bridget) of Lewisporte, sisters-in-law Ruby Hardy, Gloria Fifield (ex-husband Lew Murphy), Lena Anderson, and a large circle of friends and relatives. Wilbert was predeceased by brothers-in-law John Hardy, Max Anderson & son-in-law Calvin Penney. Wilbert was best known for his love of the outdoors, salmon fishing and hunting with his family and long time friend Martin Humber. Granting Wilbert’s wishes, there will be no public visitation. Passed away peacefully at the Palliative Care Unit of the Bridgepoint Health Centre, Toronto, ON, Beatrice Perry, on Tuesday, October 30th, 2007 at the age of 82 years. She will be sadly missed by her children: Bernice (Wallace) Williams, Irene Verven, Elmo (Lillian) Perry, Sadie (Bernie) Gallant, Jean Perry, Linda (Bruce) Hay, Lloyd Perry, Archie (Charlene) Perry, Clarice (Morris) Marshall, Daphne (John) Yetman, Sandra (Patrick) Hail and Rick Perry, as well as her 18 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Survived by her brother: Fred Howse. She was predeceased by her husband Chesley Perry and two grandsons. It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of Patrick Ryan, a man who gave generously to his family, his friends, his community and his country. Born in Norris Point, Newfoundland, he also lived in Corner Brook, Goose Bay and Stephenville. Although Pat spent the majority of his career working with Air Canada, he considered his service to his country during the Second World War training soldiers in England, and fighting in both the Italian campaign and in Northern Europe as one of his major contributions. He gave countless volunteer hours to hi community. He was involved in many roles with Branch 35 of the Royal Canadian Legion including proudly representing War Veterans during Remembrance Day preperations, speaking to students about his war experiences and on Remembrance Day laying a wreath on behalf of his fallen comrades. Community was extremely important to him. Pat was honored to be among the founding fathers of the Harmon Golf Club, the Caribou Curling Club and the Kindale Library. Pat will be dearly missed by his beloved wife of 55 year Theresa, his daughter Patricia Cole (Mike Dumoulin), his grandson, Alexander Cole and his step-grandchildren; Kyle, Cory and Tyler Dumoulin. He leaves to mourn his brothers; Frank (Sylvia) and Jim (Ruby) and sisters-in-law, Marie Gaultois (late Michael), Marguerite Cashin and Theresa Cashin (late David), his cousins, Alice and Betty Gabriel, as well as many nieces and nephews from Newfoundland and Labrador to British Columbia. It is with great sadness that the family of the Late Harvey Bishop announce his peaceful passing at his residence in Steady Brook on Saturday Nov. 24th at age 74. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his beloved wife of 50 years, Shirley, daughter, Lola Whyatt-Steady Brook and son Derek (Jennifer Higgins)-Grand Falls Winsor and cherished grandchildren, Nakita, Sabrina, Cameron, and Brandon. Also sisters Vera (Robert) Sexton-Corner Brook and Doris (Maxwell) Howell-Stephenville Crossing and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Harvey Sr. & Lavina, and brothers, Calvin & Raymond and sister Norma. He will be sadly missed by a large circle of family and friends. Harvey was a ski instructor & Ambassador for Marble Mountain, a member of SPAWN and he cherished a lifelong love of fishing and hunting. Passed peacefully in the presence of his loving children, Aloysuis McDonald in his 85th year on Wednesday, November 28th, 2007 at the Veteran's Wing of the O'Connell Centre, in Corner Brook. He will be sadly missed by his loving children: three daughters; Linda (Gordon) Humphreys of Halifax, Janice (Gary) Toth of Baltimore, USA, and Julie McDonald (Neil Sexton) of Athabaska; three sons: Fraser (Pauline Payne), Greg (Frances), both of Deer Lake, and Daniel of Fort McMurray; 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. His brothers Michael (Nancy), Andy (Barb), Ron (Marg) Bob (Mary); sisters: Bonnie (Roy) Gaudon, Helen (John) Heffler; two sisters-in-law: Martha, Belle and two brothers-in-law: Dino Tagliapitra and Greg Gaudon. Also, a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Ron & Alice, wife Bella, daughter Jeanette, brothers Jerry, Ted, Jim, and Richard, sisters Margarite, Madonna and Marie. Visitation will take place today, Friday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Funeral mass will take place on Saturday, December 1st, 2007 at 10:00am with Father Aiden Devine officiating. "Wish" was one of the founding members of the Canadian Legion Branch #3 Deer Lake, was heavily involved in sports - soccer, boxing, minor hockey and broomball. He was in activities such as Sea Cadets and involved in various community charities. He was also a town councilor, and a former business man of Deer lake. Well Done Comrade Wish! He was predeceased by his father and mother, John and Margaret Penney; sister, Roxanne Penney; and brother, Gerard Penney. His body was cremated by Scott’s Mortuary in Brampton, ON.
