It is with great sadness that the family of the late Sherry L. Cross announce her sudden passing on Tuesday, October 5th, 1999 at the Port Arthur Hospital in Thunder Bay, Ontario in her 32nd year. She will be sadly missed by her children: Crystal, Deborah and Steven all of Deer Lake; her mother Gloria (nee Legge) of Deer Lake; her sister Michelle (Mrs. Cory Bushey) of Hampden; her grandparents Violet and Joseph Legge of Deer Lake; three nieces: Danielle, Ashley, Samantha; her close friend Ken Scott; her uncles and aunts, Gerry and wife Colleen Legge of Slave Lake, Alberta, Pat Campbell of Calgary, Alberta; very special aunt and uncle Pamela and Leonard Owens of Deer Lake, Olive (Mrs. Bill Wiseman), Hilda and Ken Keats, Edith and Sterling Goulding, Paula and Larry Owens, Isabelle and Lloyd Normore, Pam and Gary Goudie all of Deer Lake, Mary and Rick Hunt, Peg Holloway and John and Joan Owens all of Glovertown, Jim and Tina Owens of Grand Prairie, Alberta; also Dale Wilczek (father of Steven) of New Market, Ontario. Also a large circle of relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her father Bruce Cross in 1985. Visitation took place from Parsons Funeral Home, 63 Northmain Street, Deer Lake on Thursday at 7-9 p.m., Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., today Saturday at 10-12 noon. Funeral services will take place today, Saturday from Emmanuel Pentecostal Church at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Gifford officiating. Interment to follow at the family plot at the Salvation Army Section, Wights Road. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Parsons Funeral Home, Deer Lake.

MCCANN, Kathleen

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Kathleen McCann announce her passing at her residence in Stephenville on Friday, October 8, 1999 at the age of 80 years. She will be sadly missed by her loving husband, Kevin and one son, Declan (Grace) McCann in Kingston, Nova Scotia and two daughters: Fidelma (Christopher) Ollif in West Sussex, England, Marie Therese McCann in South Hampton, England and two brothers: Rev. Liam Fanning in Gloucesshire, England, Sean (Marie) Fanning in Ireland and one sister, Agnes (Andrew) Flood in Wicklow, Ireland and two grandchildren: Declan Og Ollif, Dervilla McCann and a large circle of relatives and friends. Cremation took place at Russell's Crematorium, Stephenville. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, October 12th at 10:00 a.m. from St. Stephen's Parish on West Street, Stephenville. Interment will take place in Ireland. Funeral arrangements are under the supervision of Russell's Funeral Home & Crematorium, 39 Queen Street in Stephenville.

DOVE, Dr. Susan Elizabeth
1950-1999

The family of Dr. Susan Elizabeth Dove wishes to announce her peaceful death after a lengthy illness, at her home in Maple Bay, British Columbia, on Monday, 04 October 1999, at the age of 49 years. Sue was born in Corner Brook, Newfoundland, youngest daughter of the late Dr. Robert and Mrs. Margaret Dove, who predeceased her in 1970 and 1988 respectively. She will be sadly missed by her family: brother, Roderick and wife Rita, of Caribou River, Nova Scotia; sister, Ellen and husband Reginald Sherren, of Fredericton, New Brunswick; sister, Jane and husband Jerome Jesseau, of Corner Brook, Newfoundland; missed as well by her aunts, Mary and Jean McRae, of North Hatley, Quebec; and nephews and nieces, Kristopher and Robbin Dove, Robert and Katherine Sherren, and Karen, Anne, and Pamela Jesseau. She will also be sadly missed by a large number of friends and relatives across Canada, and beyond. A memorial service was held at Duncan, British Columbia on Wednesday, 06 October 1999. If anyone wishes to make a donation to a charitable organization in her memory, the Canadian Cancer Society or the Children's Wish Foundation are respectfully suggested.

SHANNAHAN, Margaret (nee Boland)
(Formerly of Corner Brook)

Passed peacefully away at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital, St. John's, in the presence of her loving family on Saturday, October 2nd, 1999, Margaret Shannahan. Predeceased by her husband, Matthew; sons: Jerome and Albert. She will be missed by her three sons: Leo (Muriel) of Labrador City, Kevin (Sheila) of Halifax, and John (Marlene) of Halifax; two daughters: Mary (Harold) of St. John's, and Kay (Monty) of Marystown; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; one sister, Mary-Joe Meaney of Corner Brook; brother-in-law, Jack Shannahan of Renews; sister-in-law, Rita Boland of Renews; also many dear friends and co-workers from Corner Brook. A memorial mass for Mrs. Shannahan will be celebrated in Holy Redeemer Cathedral, Corner Brook, on Tuesday, October 12th, at 9:00 a.m.

WEDDING

OLDFORD/BRAGG
Gordon and Nellie Bragg of Kippens are pleased to announce the marriage of their daughter, Dawn Marie, to William Augustus, son of Gordon and Mary Oldford of Grand Falls. The marriage ceremony took place on Friday, July 2, 1999, at St. Augustine's Anglican Church in Stephenville. A special thank you is extended to the many family and friends who helped make the occasion a very memorable one. The couple currently reside in Thunder Bay, Ontario.

The family of the late Clarise Hart (nee Roberts) regret to announce her passing on Friday, October 8th, 1999 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital at the age of 50 years. She was predeceased in 1985 by her husband Lorne, in 1994 her nephew Darrell and in 1996 by her father William "Uncle Bill" Roberts. She leaves to mourn her daughters Alison (Dean), Lorna (Jan), grandson Jared, mother Mildred, sisters Phyllis (Bruce), Mabel (Wayne), Carol (Steve), brothers Bill (Barbara), Keith (Michelle), parents-in-law Earl and Janet Hart and sisters-in-law Daphne (Ron), Geraldine (Fred) and Barbara (Brian). The funeral service was held Monday, October 11th at 10:30 a.m. from St. John the Evangelist Anglican Cathedral, officiated by Rev. Arthur Churchill. The interment followed at the family plot in the Anglican Cemetery, Woody Point. In lieu of flowers donations may be given to the Western Memorial Regional Foundation (Chemotherapy Unit). Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home.

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Amedia Simon announce his passing at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital, Stephenville on October 9th, 1999 at the age of 75 years. He will be sadly missed by his wife, Monica; five daughters: Shirley White and Susan (John) Smith, both of Lower Sackville, NS; Patricia Dimech, Mississauga, Ont., Barbara (Alphonsus) Hall, Brampton, Ont., Angelina (Lionel) Hayley, Stephenville Crossing; three sons: Joseph, Stephenville Crossing, Stephen (Kim), Milford, NS, and Christopher, Dartmouth, NS; 15 grandchildren; brother, Austin Simon and sister, Leanna (Alfred) Young, New Glasgow, NS; and a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents: Narcius and Angelina Simon; brothers, Joseph, Francis and Herbert; sisters, Mary-Margaret, Melanie, Mildred, Anna-May and Oliveen. He leaves to mourn one brother, Ronald and his wife Rosie of St. George's; nieces & nephews: Kenny (Carolyn) Strickland, David (Kathy) Strickland, of St. George's; Doris (Dawson) Blake, Norma (Craig) Thornton, Donald (Cathy) Strickland, of Ontario; step-nephews, Kevin & Kurtis Clarke, St. George's; and special friend, Dulcie Eddy, North Sydney, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Roy and Olive Strickland; step-mother, Sadie Strickland and sister-in-law, Clara Strickland. It is with great sadness that the family of the late James Charles Strickland announce his passing at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre on October 8th, 1999 at the age of 70 years. He leaves to mourn with fond memories his loving and devoted wife of 51 years, Lillian Strickland (nee Dominex); three sons: Isreal (Roberta) of Fox Roost, Eli (Marcella) of Port aux Basques, Curtis (Kimberly) of Gander, NF; two daughters: Marion (Raymond) Kinslow of Port aux Basques, Trudy (Steven) Lomond of St. John's, NF; daughter-in-law Vivian of Halifax; 10 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, brother Fred Strickland of Halifax as well as a very large circle of relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Curtis and Jemimah (Wadman) Strickland; son Garland, brothers Leo and Gordon, sisters Julie, Ethel, Marion and Elsie. Family and friends were received at Fillatre's Funeral Home on Saturday 1-2 (family only) 2-4 & 7-9 and Sunday 2-4 & 7-9. Funeral services took place on Monday, October 11th, 1999 at 2 p.m. with Rev. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Mr. Albin Ryan of Pasadena announce his sudden passing at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital on Saturday, October 9th, 1999 at the age of 66 years. Predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Stella Ryan, sisters: Nellie Power and Vanessa Williams and brothers, Peter, Cecil, and Arthur. He will be sadly missed by his loving family, his wife and best friend Mabel (nee Kerfont), his dear son, Kenneth and his wife Jo Anne, and his very special grandson, Justin. Also leaving to mourn are three brothers, Henry (Mary), Joseph (Marg) and Pat (Betty) and his five sisters: Sheila Ryan, Stella Trudel, Teresa Haire all residing at Pasadena, Florine Quigley of Toronto, and Jean (Richard) Hall of Paradise. He will also be missed by a large number of brothers and sisters in law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. The funeral mass will take place from the Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church in Pasadena on Tuesday, October 12th, 1999 at 11 a.m. with Father Gordon Grace officiating. , 71, of Moncton, formerly of Gambo, NF, passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Monday, October 11, 1999 following a lengthy illness. Prior to retirement, Frank was assistant to the President and CEO with Marine Atlantic. His career with Canadian National Railways began in 1944. He retired with 43 years of service. Forever in the hearts of family and sadly missed by his wife, Olga (Bursey); three sons: Sean (Monique), Barry, and Glenn (Donna); three daughters: Toni Cameron (Robert), Kimberly Fougere (Mike), and Tracey Staples; seven grandchildren; three brothers: Bill (Trudy), Harry (Heather) and Pat (Gaye); and five sisters: Dorethea Slaney (Jack), Juanita Broderick, Geraldine McIntyre, Helen Parrott (Bert), and Mary Penney (Jim). Resting at the Fair Haven Funeral Home with visiting hours on October 12, from 7-9 p.m. and October 13, from 2-4 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 14, 1999 at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home chapel, Father Carroll officiating. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Josephine (nee Parsons); two sons: Andre and wife Beryl of Rocky Harbour and Aaron of St. John's; one daughter, Anne (Mrs. Wayne Mulrooney) of Fort McMurray, Alberta; five grandchildren: Kirsandra, Sonya, Thomas, Stephanie, and Stephen; six sisters: Ivy (Mrs. Walter Oates) of Scarborough, Ontario, Mrs. Bertha Croucher of Port aux Basques, Cora Wilton, Rosa Kenny, both of Wiltondale, Mable (Mrs. Donald Boudreau of Halifax, and Doreen (Mrs. Joseph Slobodian) of Nepean, Ottawa. Also a large circle of relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Annie and Thomas Walters; and his beloved aunt and uncle, Susan and James Walters. He was predeceased by sister Ann Millner and brother Calvin Bennett. Visitation will take place from St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church, Flat Bay, Thursday, October 14th. Funeral services will take place Friday, October 15th at 2 p.m. with Father Aiden Devine officiating. Interment to follow at the Roman Catholic Cemetery in St. Theresa's. She was predeceased by her husband, Bert Taylor in 1993. Passed suddenly away at his residence on Wednesday, October 13th, 1999 aged 83 years. Beloved husband for 57 years to Marguerite Bouzanne of St. Catherine's. Dear father of Sandra and her husband Gray Graham of North Vancouver, BC, Keith Bouzanne of St. Catherine's; Sheila and her husband David MacNaughton of Toronto. Loving granddad of Shane, Melanie, Meredith, Erin, Carrie and Amanda. Dear brother of Alphonsus Bouzanne and his wife Marie of Corner Brook, Newfoundland, Madeline Lannon of Grand Falls, Newfoundland and the late Harold Bouzanne. Dear brother-in-law of Derrice Corston of Toronto. Oz was born in Grand Falls, Newfoundland, the son of the late A. J. and Margaret (Foley) Bouzanne. He had worked at various paper mills (1935-1981) throughout Canada, United States and New Zealand. At the request of Oz, cremation has taken place and a private family Memorial Service will be held. Flowers are gratefully declined by a donation to the Niagara Peninsula Children's Centre, St. Catherine's would be appreciated by the family and may be arranged through the Karl A. Guy announce her peaceful passing at Western Memorial Regional Hospital on October 14th, 1999 in her 61st year. Giving thanks for the joyful Christian life she lived and enjoyed are, her husband of 40 years, Frank; two sons: Kerry (Cheryl) of Calgary, Alberta, and David (Libby) of Ottawa, Ontario. One sister, Bessie (Neil Slade) of Arnold's Cove, and an aunt, Ruth McNeil of St. John's. Four dear granddaughters: Lindsay and Ashley Guy of Calgary, Samantha and Alicia Guy of Ottawa. On the fourth of April, 1946, he was mentioned in a Dispatch to the King for distinguished service during the Battle of France. Left with fond memories are: his wife of fifty years, Mary (nee Knee); one son, Gary (Wanda) of Corner Brook; one daughter, Wanda (Chris) of Pasadena; one granddaughter Amanda in Montreal; special grandchildren: James in Toronto, Liam in Corner Brook and Patricia of Cox's Cove; and special caregiver, Louise. Also left with their memories are two sisters: Emmie (Cyril) and Ervie (George) of Brigus and three brothers: George (Karen) of Blackpool, England, Em (Sandra) of Brigus and John of Buchans; as well as a large number of relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Allan; sister-in-law, Marion and brother-in-law Wilfred. He leaves to mourn his wife, Margaret; two daughters: Janet Blackburn of Squamish, BC (two children) and Maureen Bedard of Calgary, Alb. (four children); one son, Peter of Prince George, BC (two children); five brothers: Rhoady, Ted, Joseph, James (Corner Brook), Ronald of Marystown, NF; and four sisters: Laura Chaffey, London, ON, Margaret Hepditch, Elizabeth Boyd, Mona Fraser (Corner Brook). Gerald was predeceased by his mother, Annie; father, Joseph; and sister, Mary Batten.
