Passed away in: Corner Brook, Newfoundland, Canada
Passed away on: 22/10/2010

It is with sadness we announce that Maureen Louise Pear-Noseworthy, born April 6th 1944, died in the peace of her home on October 22nd after a battle with a rare degenerative brain disease "Picks". She is survived by her only child, Karynhappuch Louise Tayn Noseworthy; her mother Lucretia Pear and two brothers, Winston & Carl Pear. Maureen was a graduate of MUN & began her nursing career here in NL, St. John's, Corner Brook and several institutions in Nova Scotia, before she returned back home "to the rock" where she was born, and the Humber Valley she thought so beautiful and loved so much. A nurse who had a innate understanding what it meant to give comfort and hope to those suffering. And that same ability to give unconditional love & acceptance is what made her such a memorable & special human-being. She lived the everydayness of her life knowing that love was indeed a verb. She embodied service above self. Maureen had a God given talent for music and writing. She wrote countless short stories, plays and sermons over the years and sang often at church and other functions. Those years of song, and having studied Opera at the Royal Conservatory in younger days in Nova Scotia remained heart happy memories for her. There will be only one viewing per her request, to be held 2 hours before the funeral on Sunday afternoon at 1:30pm at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, located on 71 Philip Drive (off of Elizabeth Street), from where the funeral will be held at 3:30 p.m. followed by the procession where she will be laid to rest beside her husband Randolph (Wes) in the SDA plot of Mount Patricia. All are welcome. Her warmth, compassion, laughter and music live on in the minds and spirits of those who knew and loved her. She will be greatly missed and forever loved. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are welcome or donations in her memory may be made to the Diabetes Association or to the Bay of Islands SPCA.
