Passed peacefully away at the O'Connell Centre on September 30, 2003, Mabel Park of McIvers, aged 87 years. Predeceased by husband William D., infant son Zacharius, grandson Andrew. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her children: Susie, Lionel (Hattie), Helen, Alfred (Lorraine), Mona (Marvin Oldford), 14 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, her sister Maude Parsons, as well as a large circle of relatives and friends. Resting at Epiphany Anglican Church, McIvers. Funeral to take place on Friday, October 3rd at 2 p.m. from Epiphany Anglican Church. Interment to follow in the Anglican Cemetery, McIvers. He will be sadly missed by his two sons: Patrick (Debbie) Benoit of Nova Scotia, Richard (Melanie) Benoit of British Columbia and four daughters: Margaret (Bill) Chilton of British Columbia, Wanda (Frank) Russell of Port au Port, Martina Benoit (Carl O'Quinn) of Stephenville, Leeanne (Hank) Fillatre of Nova Scotia and two brothers: James (Mary) Benoit of Port au Port, Michael (Verna) Benoit of London, Ontario and four sisters: Nora Parsons of Piccadilly, Lillian Chaulk of St. John's, Annie Gaudon of Port au Port, Gloria Hynes of London, Ontario and ten grandchildren: Leon, Derek, Tara, Trevor, Ashley, Emma, Sonya, Darrell, Fleurutte, Brandon, five great-grandchildren and a large circle of relatives and friends. MESSERVEY, Agatha E.

Passed peacefully away at the Hoyles Escasoni Complex on September 28, 1999 Agatha E. Messervey in her 86th year, after a lengthy battle with cancer. As per her wish, her body was donated to science in the hope that others would benefit. Survived by her husband Robert Rex Messervey, formerly of Sandy Point, now residing at the Veterans Pavilion, St. John's; daughter Maxine Stead (Lawrence), four sisters and one brother, many grandchildren and numerous friends. After four years, her ashes have been returned to her family and a memorial service to finally lay her to rest will be held on Sunday, October 5, 2003 at 3:00 p.m. from St. Mary the Virgin Anglican Church, St. George's, Reverend Stewart Bellows officiating. Arrangements were entrusted to Barrett's Funeral Home, St. John's and Fillatre's Funeral Home, Stephenville Crossing.

Joan Coles officiating. A beautiful reception followed where they celebrated with a large circle of family and friends. The bridal party consisted of Bobbie Ann Lovell, Maid of Honour (cousin of groom & friend of bride), bridesmaids: Kelly Keeping (good friend of bride & groom), Brenda Park (cousin of groom), Glynis Pitcher (sister of Groom), Victoria French (cousin of groom) and flower girl Jenna Taylor (niece of bride), groomsmen: Frazer Parsons, Bestman (friend of bride & groom), Jay Collins (friend of bride & groom), Mitchell Pitcher (brother of groom), Neil Park (cousin of groom) and Jordan Pitcher (son of Bride & Groom). She will be sadly missed by her children: Shirley (Ralph) Shears of Fort McMurray; Debbie (Rufus) Young of Deer Lake, Edwina (Neil) Rideout of Markham, Ontario; Brenda Collins (Raymond) of Deer Lake; Norman (Cindy), Eugene, and Lori (Terry) Parsons, all of Fort McMurray; twelve grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; also the father of her children: Norman Collins of Mississauga, Ontario; two sisters: Shirley (Derek) Carter of Deer Lake and Joan Redmond of Corner Brook; her very special friend Gladys Janes of Deer Lake; also a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Sylvia was very involved in the need to help others around her and enjoyed it to the fullest. She was predeceased by her husband John E. She was predeceased by her husband, Francis Dollard in 1966 and infant daughter, Myra. They were escorted to the Canadian Legion in limousine followed by a motorcade of family and friends. Monsignor White attended the celebration and bestowed blessings upon them. The next night family and friends gathered to watch the 50 spectacular fireworks display, in honour of their 50 dedicated years to each other. Love and best wishes come from their six children: Betty, Danny, Rick, Dwayne, Stephen and Rodney, and their families. Their special day will be spent with their children, grandchildren and relatives who live in the immediate area.

Art and Shirley Drover
are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary today. They were married on Oct. 24, 1953 at the Salvation Army Citadel in Corner Brook. The Drovers have six children: Susan (Mike) Lucas; Jack (Marina); Al (Gail); Toni (Christine); Ernie (Lana); Jim (Cheryl), 14 grandchildren and two great grandchildren with another one on the way. Leaving to mourn six daughters: Shirley Ellsworth (Sam), Vivian Major (Lloyd) of Rocky Harbour, Gladys Payne (Henry), St. Paul's, Ruby Ellsworth, Lloyd of Rocky Harbour, Flossie Humber (Alex) of Corner Brook, Hughena Payne (Hounsell) of Cow Head; special granddaughter Charlene Bennett (Truman) of Brampton, ON; two brothers: Gordon Bennett (Margaret), Ronald Bennett (Olive), St. Paul's; 21 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Clyde W. November 1, 1991; sisters Eva and Freda, brothers George and Charlie; parents Arthur & Clares Jane Bennett.
