It is with great sadness that the family of the late Genevieve Abbott announce her passing at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital on Friday, September 19th, 2014 at the age of 78 years. Leaving to mourn are her special niece, Sandra McCarthy (Paul) in Port au Port, special great-nephews Jeremy, Michael and Adam, three sisters: Ellen in Boswarlos, Florence in Port au Port, Geraldine in Mississauga, Ontario, and a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Selina and Seymour Abbott, brothers Raymond, Harold and Gordon and special nephew Lonnie. Friends may call at Russell's Funeral Home, 57 Prince Rupert Drive, Stephenville on Monday, September 22, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral service will take place on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at Russell's Funeral Home Chapel at 11am with cremation to follow. It is with great sadness that the family of Graydon Pye Barnes announces his sudden passing at the Bonne Bay Health Centre, in Norris Pt, NL, on Friday, September 5th, 2014, at the age of 88 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his loving wife of 57 years Mona Francis Elizabeth nee Upwards, his children; Graydon (Brenda), Jane, Grace, Audrey, & Everette (Renita), his grandchildren; Lida, Jonathan, Tyrell, Denika, Kendric, Joshua, & Cole, his sister; Mrs. Edith McLeod, his special nephew; Nelson (Molly) Barnes, his home care workers; Pauline (Colleen) Barnes, & Madeline Crocker, Graydon was predeceased by his parents; William Barnes & Agnes Jane nee Crocker, his brothers; Augustus Barnes, & Garland Barnes, his sisters; Eliza (John) Barnes, & May (Ren) Hann, & son in law; Hillary Crocker, also leaving to mourn a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, family and friends. It is with great sadness that the family of the late John Barnes announce his passing on Wednesday September 3, 2014 at Rufus Guinchard Health Centre in Port Saunders at the age of 94 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his 8 children Nelson (Molly), John (Mariam), and Jane of Trout River, Wanda, Mae (John Park) of Cox's Cove, Felix, Andy, Geoffery (Laura) of Brampton Ontario, three special grandchildren Chad, Neil, and Keala, whom he helped to raise, 23 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, and 9 great great grandchildren, brother Clarence, sister Valsie (Noble Parsons), sister in law Edith Mcleod of Curling, brother in law Graydon Barnes (Mona) of Trout River. He was predeceased by his wife Eliza, Mother Lucy, Father Wilson, sisters Toss, Elsie, Phyliss ( Bussy) Crocker, brothers Chesley (Mariam), Wesley (Rose), sisters in law Maxine, May (Ren Hann), brothers in law Henry Mcleod, Augustus Barnes (Rhoda), and great grandson baby boy Park. Bernard A. "Tony" Benoit
, 53 years, of Riverview, NB passed away at The Moncton Hospital, on Tuesday, September 16, 2014. Born in Stephenville, NL he was the son of Agnes (O'Quinn) of Stephenville, NL and the late Bernard Benoit. Tony retired after 33 years as a Millwright at Syncrude Ltd. in Fort McMurray, AB. He is survived by his common law wife Rosemary Gaudon of Riverview; sons Jason (Lindsey) Benoit and Brian Benoit (Bonnie Smart) both of Calgary, AB; sisters Ruby (Art) Brake of Stephenville, NL, Rose Anne Hann of Ontario, and Joyce Benoit (Alton Benoit); brothers Richard (Linda Southwell) Benoit of Stephenville, NL, Lewellyn Benoit (Leona Pike) of Stephenville, NL, Clinton Benoit of Stephenville, NL and Wayne Swyer (Madonna) of Port Rexton, NL; grandchildren Kate, Carson, and Romy; also by several nieces, nephews and cousins. The graveside service will be held at Hillside Interfaith Cemetery in Stephenville, NL on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at 1:00 pm with Father Jim Robertson officiating. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 52 years, Robert; children: Maureen, Judy (Byron Wheeler), Robert (Lynn Caddigan), and Linda (Chris Sheehan); sisters: Myrtle, Barbara, and Linda; brothers: Clayton, Jack, Jim, June, Edward, and Gerry; as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by parents Dawson and Gladys Brake; sister Yvonne and brother Fred. Passed on: September 3rd, 2014

Passed away at his home in Grimsby, on Wednesday, September 3, 2014, in his 73rd year. Beloved husband of Ruth (nee Strowger). Dear brother of Clayton Crocker (Pat Fagan), Hazel Penney (Clayton), David Crocker, Ivan Crocker, Madelyn Crocker and Keith Crocker (Ruth), all of Newfoundland. Brother-in-law of Pauline Roberts (Bev) of St. Thomas and Joan Brown (Lorne) of Delhi. He will also be missed by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his father Albert Roland Crocker, his mother Caroline Elizabeth Crocker (nee Parsons), and his brother Raymond Crocker. As was Harry's wish, cremation has taken place and his remains will be interred in Newfoundland. CROCKER, James Henley
Passed on: September 1st, 2014

It is with heavy hearts that the family of the late James Henley Crocker announce his peaceful passing on Monday September 1, 2014 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook in his 91st year. He was a quiet, gentle man who was ever present for his family, his church and his community. He was also so proud to have received the Governor General's Caring Canadian Award in 2001 for recognition of a lifetime of volunteer work. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Ruby (Batstone) with whom he shared 65 wonderful years, his children, Denise (Kaj) Hedin, Brian (May) Crocker, Vicki Crocker and daughter - in- law Heather Crocker. Also left to mourn are his dear grandchildren Caroline and James Hedin, Alex Crocker (Ashley), Alana Crocker (Josh Webb) and Shawn and Paul Crocker; sisters-in-law Cora Batstone, Edna Tilley and Annette Stafford. He was predeceased by his son, Paul, his parents James and Clara Crocker, his brother Harold, sisters Emma Shears, Bessie Young, Katie Noel and Vera Doman, sister-in-law Marjorie Sharpe and brother-in-law Earl Batstone. He also left behind a large circle of relatives and friends. Jim was an active member of the Masonic Lodge, St. John the Evangelist Church, Bell Aliant Pioneers and the church dart league. The family will be receiving visitors on Wednesday, September 3 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at Fillatre's Funeral Home on St. Marks Avenue. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 4 at 2 p.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church with the Very Reverend Baxter Park officiating. Interment will follow at a later date. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Mrs. Eliza Margarita Cullihall nee Watts announces her peaceful passing surrounded by her family and friends, at the Bonne Bay Health Centre in Norris Pt, NL, on Friday, September 12th, 2014, in her 94th year. Leaving to mourn her passing with a lifetime of fondness and memories are her children; Carl (Cora) Cullihall of Stephenville, NL; Aubrey (Christine) Cullihall of Lively, ON; Mona (Clarence) Decker of Pasadena, NL; Dar (Neta) Cullihall of Rocky Harbour, NL; Lillian (Wayne) Pittman of Gander, NL; Henry (Kathy) Cullihall of Winnipeg, MB; Karen (Wade) Harding of Bedford, NS and Greg (Yvonne) Cullihall of Long Pond, CBS, NL, and her son-in-law, Bob Roberts (Doreen) of Rocky Harbour, NL. One sister-in-law and special friend, Mrs. Blanch Watts of Rocky Harbour, NL. Also left to cherish her memories are her nineteen grandchildren: Dean, Colleen, Mark, Colby, Craig, Clinton, Lindsay, Meagan, Brent, Brenda, Michael, Ann, Paul, Darren, Sarah, Vanessa, Jessica, Zachery, and Melissa. As well, she leaves seventeen great-grandchildren: Troy, Deanna, Jaxon, Keshia, Kegan, Holly, Bryson, Gabriel, Simon, Lucas, Norah, Grace, Sidney, Graham, Ewan, Gracie, and Connor and one great great grandchild, Selena. As well she leaves her many nieces and nephews, whom she adored, and countless other relatives, friends and acquaintances who have been such an important part of her long life. She will be especially missed by her very special friend, Marjorie Payne. Eliza was predeceased by her husband, John Woodrow Cullihall, on September 7th , 1999 and her daughter, May, on January 7th, 2001. As well , she was predeceased by her parents, Enos and Georgina Watts as well as five brothers, Thomas, Ingram (Bessie Dodd), Willis (Marion Dawe and Hilda Piercy), Wesley (Caroline Dyke), and Arthur (Edith Ellsworth) and three sisters: Laura (Andrew) Crocker, Alice (Douglas) Reid and Sarah (Stewart) Wight. of Corner Brook, passed away peacefully in the Palliative Care Unit Western Memorial Regional Hospital on Thursday, September 11, 2014 at the age of 79, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born to the late Hubert and Alma Gillam in McKay's, Newfoundland on March 26, 1935. Family and friends were Ina's passion and joy. She enjoyed spending time at George's Lake with all her cabin friends. She loved to entertain with her husband Earl, play Growl, tell stories, and just have a laugh. Besides her family, Ina's other passion was her beautiful garden in Little Rapids. She loved to share its beauty with the many visitors who happened by. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her sons: Mike (Bev) and Sean (Kim Thistle); and her brother, Mel. With great sorrow, she was predeceased by her husband Earl and her daughter, Tina. Ina is also survived by her son-in-law Jerry George; grandchildren: Tyler, Devan, Alex (Meagan), Ashley, Jesse (Jean-Francois), and Zachary; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Edward and Martha Boulos, her sisters, Adele Beidleman, Marie Moyer, Doris Bernardini, Theresa Lear, and her brothers, Peter, Leo and Fred. She leaves her beloved husband of 64 years, Daniel; five children, Fonse (Maureen) of St. John's, Christine (David Jones) of Coldbrook, NS, Geraldine of Ottawa, Joanne (Bernard Greene) of St. John's, and Sheila (Barry Warren) of Montreal; twelve grandchildren: David Faour (Sarah), Centreville, NS, Elizabeth Faour, St. John's, Peter Faour, Ottawa, Thomas Faour, Antigonish, NS, Daniel Massicotte (Sara), Toronto, Stephen Massicotte, Montreal, Aaron Massicotte, Coldbrook, Marcus Etchegary (Jenn), Toronto, Dominic Greene, St. John's, Danielle Greene, St. John's, Julia Warren, Montreal, Ted Warren, Montreal; one great-grandson, Ryker Etchegary, Toronto; and her brother Edward of Mississauga. Freida was born in St. John's, and came to Corner Brook after her marriage to Daniel. She was a dedicated and inspiring community leader whose impact on our province crossed the sectors of education, music and arts, municipal politics and family living. She was a leader in municipal government in the City of Corner Brook, and was seen as a champion of the environment as founder of the Humber Arm Environmental Association. Her environmental work was recognized by the establishment of the Freida Faour Environmental Scholarship for university students pursuing careers in Environmental Studies. Perhaps her greatest love was her involvement in music. She was a member of the Cathedral Choir for 64 years, including acting as its director for several years. Music was a big part of her life: she taught piano and voice, and was a music education teacher in the school system for several years; she performed in many musical endeavours in the Corner Brook area, including dance and musical theatre. She was a dedicated volunteer in her community, in particular her involvement in Canada Day committees, the Western Health Care Corporation, the Canadian Red Cross, the Salvation Army, the Bay of Islands Musical Arts, the Canadian Catholic Organization for Development and Peace, the Catholic Women's League, and recently served as president of the Scottish Heritage Society of Western Newfoundland. She had an extensive community involvement while building and nurturing a wonderful marriage of over 64 years, raising five children, of whom she was extremely proud, and running a prosperous family business. In recognition of her contributions, she was admitted to the Order of Newfoundland and Labrador in 2012. Harold was a World War II Veteran, having fought in Italy with the 166 Newfoundland Regiment. It is with heavy hearts that the family of Doug Guy announce his death on Tuesday, September 23rd, 2014 at the age of 57. Born in Corner Brook, NL, he was the husband of Uli Guy of Burton, NB, and son of Mary and the late Clifford "Tom" Guy of Corner Brook, NL. In addition to his wife, Uli, Doug leaves behind his children, Bianca and Jeff (Carolyn) Guy; siblings, Patsy Murphy, Robert (Kim), and Alan (Ellen) Guy; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family in Newfoundland and Germany. Doug's love for motorcycles, especially Harleys, was second only to his love for his family. He will be deeply missed. There will be no formal service at Doug's request. We, the McIsaac family, regretfully announce the sudden passing of Patricia McIsaac at the Winnipeg Health Centre. Lovingly called Pat by her friends and family, she leaves to mourn two sisters, Tonie and Bev and brothers Bob and Gary and wife Cindy, three nephews, one niece and one great niece, and a wide circle of friends. As a teacher for 39 years, Pat touched the lives of many children. When she passed she was doing what she loved to do. "Miss Library" as her students called her was greatly loved by them. In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted for her passion, the Garden Hill Elementary School Library. A celebration of her life will be held at Russell's Funeral Home, Stephenville on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 from 2-4 pm and 7-9pm.

Peacefully passed away surrounded by her family at Cassellhome Home for the Aged on September 25, 2014 at the age of 92 years. Predeceased by her husband Wallace and her sons Robert and Ted. Mum will be sadly missed by her daughter-in-law Shelley. Beloved Mummer of Josh (Lindsey), Katie (Charlie) and her great grandson Jaxtin. Dear sister of Ted (Renee) and Marilyn Broughton (Richard). She will be missed by many nieces and nephews in Nova Scotia and Ontario. She will be missed by her extended family the Guscott clan. Ruby will be missed by many and remembered forever. Predeceased by her parents Harold and Edna (nee Brown), her brother Alex (Astrida-surviving) and her sister Corliss Kishinski (Ernie). Her travels took her from Newfoundland to Sydney, Nova Scotia, Halifax, Nova Scotia to North Bay where she spent the past 16 years. Ruby made several friends in her travels that will be saddened by her loss. She was so proud of having dinner with the Queen, memories she always cherished. She will be missed for her baking talents, something she passed onto her granddaughter Katie. As per her request, cremation has taken place; she will be laid to rest in Corner Brook, Newfoundland. Born and raised in Curling NL., left to become a hard rock miner in Elliot Lake ON. Where he married his best friend Veronica White from Frenchman's Cove NL. Leaving to mourn with fond and precious memories, his loving wife of 36 years, Eunice; son Denis (Lesley Ann); daughter April (Jason) Loder; his pride and joys: grandsons Riley and Ryder; sisters: Sheila, Ruth (Melvin), and Pauline (Foster); brothers: Calvin (June), Eric (Carolyn), Brian (Lori), Perry (Sharon), and Phillip; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Predeceased by parents Lorne and Josena Taylor; brother Donald and sister Clara. In keeping with Denis' wishes, cremation has taken place. Friends may visit St. Paul's Anglican Church in Summerside on Wednesday 7-9 p.m. and Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m., from where the Funeral Service will take place on Friday, September 19, 2014 at 2:00 p.m., officiated by Reverend Malcolm Palmer. Interment will take place at a later date. The family would like to express deepest thanks to the doctors and nurses at the Palliative Care Unit for the support and care given to Denis and the family during such a difficult time. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Allan Chesley Thomas announces his passing on Saturday, September 20th, 2014, at the Corner Brook Long Term Care Facility, in Corner Brook, NL, at the age of 86th years. He will be sadly missed with fond and loving memories by his children Cyril (Rhoda), Scott (Donna) and Darrell (Tammy) all of Fort McMurray, Alberta, Randell (Susan), Terry (Monalisa) both of Edmonton, Alberta, and Sharon (Brad) Romaine of Cormack, NL. Grandchildren Lisa, Krista, Christine, Michelle, Kayla, Jillian, Shawn, Quinton, Cameron, Ryan, Steven and Jordon. 14 great-grandchildren. His sisters; Elsie and Ivy both of Springdale. His sister-in-law; Flossie. Also a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Allan was predeceased by his Wife; Mrs. Venus Thomas, his parents; George and Daisy Thomas, grandchild Shane, brothers; Walter and Joseph, sisters-in-law; Betty, Minnie, Sadie, Hazel, Annie, Renee, brothers-in-laws; Milton, and Philip. passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 23rd, 2014 at the Western Memorial Regional in Corner Brook, surrounded by his loving family at the age of 82. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories, his son Todd MacDonald (Kim); grandchildren, Steven and Todd jr.; sisters: Emma and Florence, brother Ken (Doreen); sisters-in-law: Jean, Sylvia and Evelyn, as well numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Arthur and Lillian Wheeler; brothers: Simion, Albert, Joel, Jack and Henry; brothers-in-law: Ron Cook and Roy Lock.
