on Corner Brook's east side. Throughout her life, Rose gave unselfishly
of her time to several volunteer organizations. Among these were the Humber
United Church Ladies Auxiliary, the Interfaith Home for Senior Citizens, and
the Dr. J. I. O'Connell Centre. Rose was a long time member of the Echo
Seniors Club, and dearly loved a good game of cards. She also took tremendous
pleasure in her beautiful garden over the years, and was an inspiration in
this regard to her special niece and dear friend Ina. Rose loved spending time
with family and friends at Gildor Cabin on George's Lake. She had a wonderful
sense of humour, and could often be counted on to regale company with stories
that left one and all in tears of laughter. Her wit, ready smile, and care
and concern for others will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her. The
family would like to thank the staff at Western Memorial Hospital for their
excellent care and compassion over the last few months of Rose's hospitalization.
Visitation will take place at Fillatre's Funeral Home on St. Mark's
Avenue on Monday August 24, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Funeral
service will be held at Humber United Church on Clarence Street on Tuesday,
August 25 at 2:00 pm, interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. Flowers
gratefully accepted, or donations in Rose's honour can be made to the
Western Memorial Hospital Foundation. The family guest book may be signed or
a memorial donation may be made through our website www.fillatre.ca
