It with great sadness that the family of the late Cindy Josphine Antle announce her peaceful passing surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, August 8th, 2009 at her family residence in her 36th year. She will be forever remembered and loved by husband David, children Matthew and Jenna. Parents Bill and Shirrill Lake. One brother Bill Jr. (Dena). Two sisters Cathy (Art Taylor) and Patricia Lake. Her mother-in-law Eva Antle. Sisters-in-law Patsy (Brian Evans), Sharon (Max Peddle), Debbie (Craig Wells), Barbara Antle (Pius Alexander), Mary Lou Antle, Doreen (Mark Gallant) , Betty Lou Antle, Glen (Shelly) Antle and Shawn Antle. Also a large circle of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her father-in-law Alex Antle, brothers-in-law Larry Antle and Tony Antle. Visitation will take place from The Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Pasadena on Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 pm. where Mass of a Christian Burial will take place Monday at 2:00 pm. with Father Grace officiating. Interment to follow at the family plot. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Sidney Bennett announce his passing at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook on Thursday, August 20th, 2009 in his 75th year. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Marie (nee Ellsworth); his daughters: Trudy (Tony Caines), Portland Creek, Norma (Don Hynes), Cow Head, Marion (Gabriel Payne), Swan Hills, Alberta; his sons: Lee (Lewena), St. Paul's, Alvin (Trena), St. Paul's; his grandchildren: Derrick, Dana, Scott, Tyler, Gavin, Samantha, Katherine, Andrea-Lee, Dylan, Andre, Amy-Lee, Shania and Skye; his three great-grandchildren: Kevin, Hanna and Cynthia; his three sisters: Venie Pittman, St. Paul's, Doylie Caines, Three Mile Rock and Emma Bishop, Ontario; his extended family and a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Lydia Bennett; his sister, Elsie; his brothers: Clyde and Lorne; his brothers-in-law: Campbell, Fred and Elias; his daughter-in-law, Mary; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Jack and Evelyn Ellsworth. The family will be receiving family and friends from his residence in St. Paul's, from where the funeral service will take place on Sunday, August 23rd at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Jean Brenton-Hickman officiating. Interment to follow at the Anglican Church Cemetery in St. Paul's. Passed peacefully away in the presence of his loving family on Wednesday, August 26th, 2009, at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook, Clarence Walter "Roy" Burridge, at the age of 79 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories: his wife, Enid Luella Burridge Ball; his son, Danny George (Judy); granddaughter, Deanne Kimberly Burridge; grandsons: Danny Roy Burridge and Darrell Chesley Burridge, all of Labrador City; his brother, Cecil (Marcella) Burridge of Deer Lake. Roy was predeceased by his parents, George & Lydia Burridge; his brother, Leonard (Monie) Burridge; his nephew, Wayne Burridge; niece, Barbara Burridge and nephew, Darrell Burridge. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Annie Mercy Carter announce her passing on Friday, August 14th, 2009 at the Palliative Care Unit at Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook at the age of 86 years. She was predeceased by her husband, John Thomas Carter, December 1980; her parents, William and Sarah Jane Short; sons: Reginald and Jerome; sisters: Naomi, Leah, Ada; and brother. Ambrose. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, her sons: David (Maxine) Carter, Pasadena, Derek (Shirley) Carter, Deer Lake, Donald (Viola) Carter, Pasadena, Dorman (Pauline) Carter, Ontario and Monty Carter (Shirley Callahan), Ontario; daughters: Diane Parsons (Walter Shears), Deer Lake, Mary Lou (Bill) Pennell, Springdale and Annmarie Carter, Springdale; 17 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, as well as a large circle of relatives and friends. She had numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and will be sadly missed by her aunt Gertie Targett and aunt Violet Johnson. Leaving to mourn with fond and precious memories: his loving wife, Mamie (Mary H.) Gale; daughter, Corinne Samms (husband, Carl and their children: Carla and Ryan); son, Glen (wife, Laurie and their daughter, Marissa). Passed peacefully away on Saturday, August 1, 2009 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital, Daisy Gillingham at the age of 79 years. Left to celebrate the wonderful memories of her life are her children and their families; Linda (Bernard) McHugh, Corner Brook, Randy (Kim), Edmonton AB, Beverly (Gus) Victoria BC, Hubert, Corner Brook, Laudrick Jr. (Charaine), Prince George BC and Shawn (Brenda), Grande Prairie AB, eleven grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren, sisters Rita MacDonald, Corner Brook, Marie (Austin) Avery, Mission BC, and sister-in-law Peggy (Gerald) Colbourne Steady Brook, several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Daisy was predeceased by her husband Laudrick, 1988, and most recently her beloved mother Gladys, 1996 and brother Ronald Beson, 1998. Daisy loved being a care giver to anyone who needed her, and her children always came first. Her love for animals was only exceeded by her love for her family. It is with great sadness that the family of the Late Thaddeus Hawkins announce his passing at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital, Stephenville, NL on Monday, August 17, 2009 at the age of 78 years. He leaves to mourn his wife Elsie (nee: Hodder); two daughters: Madeline (Allan) Campbell, Stephenville, Valerie (Cless) Ollerhead, Lethbridge, AB; four grandsons: Jonathan Campbell, Stefan (Grace) Campbell, Donaven Hawkins, Taylor Hawkins; great-grandchildren Bram and Enya Campbell; brothers: Herbert (Marie), Cletus (Brenda), Michael (Dorothy), Anslem (Pauline); sisters: Muriel (Les) Hynes, Phyllis White, Rose (Mike) Orlando, Bernadette ( Cyril) Davis, Debra (Sammy) Hines, Mary (Jeffrey) Lee as well as many other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Oswald and Mary Eunice Hawkins, daughter Princeline in June 1984, son Teddy in February 1997 and brother John in November 2002. HILLIER, Mr. William Frederick

Passed peacefully away after a lengthy illness, William Frederick Hillier, at the age of 86. Leaving to mourn with sadness and many happy memories: his wife of nearly 59 years, Rosalie; his four children: Derek (Christine) of Gander, Keith (Maxine) of Pasadena, Clyde (Brenda) of St. John's and Bernice (Wayne Ash) of Corner Brook. Also, seven wonderful grandchildren: Jason (Lori) of Toronto, Chad (Kerri Ann) of Lower Sackville, NS, Brent of Fort McMurray, Michael (Sara) of St. Mary's, ON, Jennifer of Pasadena, Jeffrey of St. John's and Noah of Corner Brook, as well as great-granddaughter, Kennedy and great-grandson, Atticus. Passed away peacefully with his family by his side, Gilbert Clifford Sansome at the DVA Unit, J.I. O'Connell on Thursday, August 6th, 2009 in his 84th year. Left to celebrate the wonderful memories of his life are his loving wife Frances (nee Peddle), sons: Garry (Judy) and Glen (Annelie); daughters: Brenda Stratton (Ralph) and Gilda Saunders (Randy); brother Don and sister Shirley King; 15 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Passed peacefully away at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital on Monday, August 24th, 2009 in his 96th year. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 65 years Marguerite (nee Halfyard) and father of George (Marjorie), Derek (Linda), Alfred Horace and Scott (Nancy). He was loving grandfather of Elizabeth (Barry) Jacqueline (Michael), James (Janice), Derek Jeffrey (Krista) and great-grand-father of Spencer, Alexander, Ethan, Paige, Colin and Tyler. Also a large circle of family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Alfred and Phoebe, brothers: John, William, Richard and George, sisters: Hope, Ethel, Mary and Winnifred. Following cremation visitation will take place today, Wednesday, August 26, 2009 from 10 am - 1 pm at the Church of the Epiphany in Woody Point, from where the memorial service will also take place today, Wednesday at 2:00 pm with interment to follow at the Anglican cemetery. WELLMAN, Mrs. Rosanna (Rose)

Born in 03/11/1918

It is with great sadness that the family of Rose (Gillette) Wellman announce her passing on Friday, August 21, at the age of 90. Leaving to mourn with loving memories are her sons Terry (Mereda) and Larry (Linda); her grandchildren Monte, Andrea, Jennifer, Heather and Christopher; her eight great-grandchildren; as well as many nephews, nieces, cousins, and many friends. Rose was predeceased by her husband Lloyd Wellman in 1985, infant son Monte, her parents John and Minnie Gillette; as well as her brothers William (Will), infant Frank, Chesley, George, Jack, and Roy, and her sisters Anita (Nete), Alma, Jessie, Florence (Flo), and Clarice. Rose was born, raised and lived her life in Humbermouth on Corner Brook's east side. Throughout her life, Rose gave unselfishly of her time to several volunteer organizations. Among these were the Humber United Church Ladies Auxiliary, the Interfaith Home for Senior Citizens, and the Dr. J. I. O'Connell Centre. Rose was a long time member of the Echo Seniors Club, and dearly loved a good game of cards. She also took tremendous pleasure in her beautiful garden over the years, and was an inspiration in this regard to her special niece and dear friend Ina. Rose loved spending time with family and friends at Gildor Cabin on George's Lake. She had a wonderful sense of humour, and could often be counted on to regale company with stories that left one and all in tears of laughter. Her wit, ready smile, and care and concern for others will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her. The family would like to thank the staff at Western Memorial Hospital for their excellent care and compassion over the last few months of Rose's hospitalization. Visitation will take place at Fillatre's Funeral Home on St. Mark's Avenue on Monday August 24, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
