It is with great sadness that the family of the late Edwin Kevin Cluett announce his passing at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital, Stephenville on Thursday, July 1, 2004 at the age of 67 years. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Ann and two sons: Kevin (Sandra) Cluett of Amherst, Nova Scotia, Eugene Cluett (Joanna Cook) of Whitby, Ontario and three daughters: Cathy (Dennis) King of Marystown, Colleen Cluett of Stephenville, Edwina Cluett (Wayne Greene) of Bass River, New Brunswick; five brothers: Norm Cluett, Jim Cluett, Alvin Cluett, Ron Cluett, Albert Cluett and two sisters: Betty Parsons, Geraldine May; 13 grandchildren and a large circle of relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Matthew and Maude Cluett and his two brothers, Stan Cluett, Carlson Cluett and sister, Viola Grandy. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Margaret Boland announce her passing on Thursday, July 1, 2004 at 7:55 a.m. at her home in Stephenville at the age of 71 years. Left with fond memories are her sister, Gladys (Pat McCoy) with six children, her brother Pat (Philomena Brake), her sister, Theresa Boland RSM (Sister of Mercy), her brother, Jack (Shirley White) with three children, brother Gerry (Gina Kerfont) with five children, brother, Tom with three children, also a large circle of nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews (seventy-six in all). She was predeceased by her parents, Maurice and Rita Boland, two brothers, Bernie and Ray. Friends may call at Russell's Funeral Home, 39 Queen Street, Stephenville on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will take place at St. Stephen's Parish, West Street, Stephenville on Saturday, July 3rd at 10:00 a.m. with interment in the Hillside Interfaith Cemetery, Hansen Highway, Stephenville. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Pat Follett announce his peaceful passing at Western Memorial Regional Hospital on Friday, July 2, 2004 at the age of 65 years. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife Effie (nee Green), one daughter: Glenda (Barry) Goosney, one son Rod (Susan), two grandchildren: Adam and Heather Goosney, four sisters: Ann (Phil) Williams, Ottawa, ON; Jean Pike, Corner Brook; Ursla (Joe) Whalen, Torbay and Patsy (Ambrose) Smith, Corner Brook; as well as a large circle of relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Patrick and Theresa, brother Bill, sister Marlene and brother-in-law Art Pike. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Victor Gerald Wight announce his passing on Wednesday, May 12th, 2004 at the age of 86. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his children: Rosemary Dewar (George), Lillian Budden, Gorden Wight (Margaret), Harold Wight (Susan), David Stone (Diane), Gerry Stone (Caroline), Barry Stone, Paul Stone (Heather), and Andy Stone (Darlene); His grandchildren: Douglas and Peter Dewar, Tina Burden (Paul), and Sean Budden, Barbara (Gary), Adrian and Jonathan Wight, Ian and Emily Wight, Mark Stone (Trina), Melanie and Heather Stone and their mother Gloria, and Reid Crowther; Great grandchildren: Elizabeth Burden and Evan Stone, and his brothers: Eunice and Albert Wight. He was predeceased by his wives Ellen Millicent Donmall and Barbara Joan Stone, brothers Harvey and Wilson and sister Janie Shears. In accordance to Mr. Wight's wishes there was no visitation or funeral. Interment will be held on Monday July 5th, 2004 at 2 p.m. at the Salvation Army Cemetery on High Street, with Captain Terry Hopkins officiating. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home 10 Clinic Drive, Deer Lake.

WILDFONG, Mary Louise
Passed away at K-W Health Centre of Grand River Hospital on Thursday, July 1, 2004 at the age of 77 years. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Waterloo. Loving mother of Betty Ann, Doraine, David, Derek, all of Guelph. Grandmother of Michael, Martin Poschner, Kendralee Gray, Andrew Brown, Dana Wollis, Raphael Beaudin, Oliver Wildfong. Survived by her eight great grandchildren. Sister of Harry, Walter, Bob and Dorothy. She will be remembered by her friends at Luther Manor. Predeceased by her husband, Kenneth (1973), long time friend, John Holden (2003), parents, Samuel and Elizabeth Jones, brothers, Con, Lloyd and Fred, and sister Alice. To celebrate Mary's life, a memorial service will be held on Friday, July 9, 2004 at 1 PM at St. John's Lutheran Church (22 Willow St., Waterloo). Rev. Steve Weber officiating. Cremation has taken place. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Christian Children's Fund would be appreciated by the family.

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Olive Endicott (Pawley) announce her passing on Tuesday, June 29, 2004 in Kitchener, Ontario at the age of 93 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories four daughters: Ada (Jerome) Locke, Kitchener, ON, Irene (Berkley) Warren, Corner Brook, Linda (Roy) Kennedy, and Georgina (Roger) Blanchard, Kitchener, ON; 27 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren and 13 great-great grandchildren, brother Fred McLeod, Halifax, NS, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her first husband George Endicott (1966), second husband Jim Pawley (2000), two sons: Ronald (1970) and Robert Endicott (1997), sister Eliza Brake (2004). Visitation will take place from Fillatre's Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue on Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Sunday, July 4 at 2:00 p.m. from the Salvation Army Temple, O'Connell Drive. Also her eight sons: Ted, Shannon, Christopher, Geoff (Sandra) of Stephenville, Edmund of Brampton, Ontario, Wendell (Marion) of Paris, Ontario, Greg (Linda) and Terry (Clarice) of St. John's. Her six daughters: Anne Marie (Sis) Barry, Betty Jean (Clifton) Hynes, Claudia (Conrad) AuCoin and Maureen of Stephenville, Pam (Brian) Marche of Brampton, Ontario and Patricia (Paul) Arns of St. John's and 33 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and a large circle of relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her son, Rodney on June 6, 1989. , longtime residents of Gillams now residing in Kippens, are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary today. They were married on July 2, 1954, at St. Thomas' Anglican Church in St. John's. Congratulations and much love extended to them from their three children, Brian, Glendora and Phoebe; their four grandsons, Mark, Paul, Jeremy and Daniel, and other family members. To celebrate the special occasion, an open house will be held at their residence at 6 Felix Drive, Kippens, from 2 to 5 p.m. today.

She was predeceased by her husband Douglas Gillis. Cremation Service took place at Russell's Crematorium, Stephenville. of 200 Humber Road in Corner Brook are celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary today. Mr. Wells is originally from Whitbourne and moved to Corner Brook when he was six years old. Mrs. Wells, the former Eileen Ruth of Summerside, moved to Humbermouth when she was 12 years old. The couple was married in the old Humber United Church on July 19, 1934 and they had seven children including Jane (Mrs. Malcolm White), Phyllis (Mrs. Gordon Cass of Corner Brook), and Bill (Colleen) of Corner Brook. Four of their children - Fred, Ruby (Mrs. Roy Batstone), Melvina and Gerald - have passed away. They have 15 grandchildren (one of which has died), 24 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. A small family gathering will be held to celebrate the occasion. Fred was employed as Superintendent of Western Construction for 43 years until his retirement in 1992. He was well known wherever he went and he will be missed. February 8, 1930 - July 27, 2004

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our Dad, Edward Payne, at the age of 74 in Calgary, Alberta on July 27th. He will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Sherry (Philpott), her husband Dave and grandchildren Sarah and David; and daughter Darlene (Bell), her husband Joel and granddaughter Caitlin all of Calgary, Alberta. Our Dad also leaves to mourn his sisters Amy Nicole of Rocky Harbour, NL and Lorraine Graves of Halifax, NS. He will be sadly missed by his special cousin, Charlie Payne, as well as a large circle of family and friends in Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Alberta. Dad touched many lives and leaves us all with so many wonderful memories. He went to sea with the Coast Guard - as an engineer on the ships and later, a Steamship inspector until he retired in 1988. His greatest loves were his grandchildren, his cabins in Newfoundland and Nova Scotia and his songwriting. "Uncle Ned" lived and loved life to the fullest and would want all of us left behind to do the same. Raise your glass. GASH, Colin Vincent
25, Halifax, passed away suddenly in QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax, on July 29, 2004, surrounded by family and friends. Born in Corner Brook, NL, he was a son of Rosemary and Pete Taylor and his father, Tim Gash. Colin graduated from Auburn High School in 1998 and went on to Dalhousie to graduate with a Bachelor of Environmental Design in 2004. Colin was keenly interested in cycling, both recreationally and competitively since the age of 12. He was a provincial downhill mountain bike champion and competed with a personal best at Downhill Nationals in Kamloops, B.C. in 2002. Colin loved music, reading, drawing and traveling. During his short life he visited many places in Canada, as well as New York, London, Paris and Egypt. Colin will be greatly missed by Krista, his mom and dads, brothers, many friends from high school, mountain biking and Dalhousie School of Architecture and by everyone who was fortunate enough to know him. He was a loyal friend. Surviving are his wife, Krista Koval; grandparents, Regina Barry, Bell Island, NL; Norma and Orville Taylor, Halifax; many aunts and uncles; brothers, Tim and Adam. He was predeceased by his grandfather, Vincent Barry (Bell Island, NL); grandparents, Anne and Joseph Gash. Visitation will be from 1-4 p.m. Monday, August 2, followed by a funeral service at 4 p.m., both in A.L. Mattatall Funeral Home, 217 Portland St., Dartmouth, Rev. Ron Clark officiating. Passed peacefully away on Thursday July 29, 2004 at the Interfaith Home, Corner Brook, Gertrude Angela Roche at the age of 71. She will be lovingly remembered by her sisters: Sister Edward Mary, Mary, Camille (Dennis), Teresa (Stan), Assumpta; brothers Edward and Francis; sisters-in-law Mary Jo and Elaine, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Frank and Gertrude, sister Rita, brothers James and Charlie, sisters-in-law Carol and Marion, brother-in-law Gerald Donovan. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, August 2nd at 10:00 a.m. from Sacred Heart Church, Father Bernard Buckle officiating. Cremation will follow. Friends may visit Fillatre's Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street, Sunday from 7-9 p.m. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Children's Wish Foundation.
