It is with great sadness that the family of the late Glen Abbot announce his peacefull passing at his residence on June 4, 2010 at the age of 51 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his companion of 20 years Karen, sister Yvonne (Don) Bradbury, brother Duncan (Olive) Abbott, aunt Catherine Mayne of Atlanta, Georgia and her family, nieces: Denise, Nicole and Susan. Karen would like to especially thank her sister Gloria, as well as her siblings Effie, Bill, John, Phoebe, and Fred as well as a large circle of friends and family. Peacefully surrounded by his family at Princess Margaret Hospital on Friday, June 25th, 2010 in his 70th year. Beloved husband of Marie of 41 years. Loving father of Dean, Dwayne (Arlie), and predeceased by son, Darren. Cherished poppy. Dear brother of Geneva Just (David), Louverne (Edna), and predeceased by sister Edna Stamatellos. Son of the late John and Eileen Alexander. Les will be remembered as a great father and friend to many; also remembered for his love for his music. With family and close friends by his side, who loved him very much, Maxwell Ross Rowe, age 77 years, passed away with strength and courage on Thursday, June 3, 2010 at the Palliative Care Unit, Western Memorial Hospital in Corner Brook. Max was a loving husband to his wife Dorothy (Warren) for 56 years, a loving father, hero and positive role model to his five daughters, Suzanne Wheeler (Terry), Nanci Rowe (Selwyn Burry), Arlette Reid (Chris), Alexia Barnable (Paul), Monique Wells (Grant). He was a fun loving grandfather to Laurie Anne, Tiffany, Adam, Alexander, Jonathan, Robyn, Olivia, Emma Claire, Phoebe, and his great grandson, Kyle. He will also be missed by his brother and best friend Edmund (Shirley), as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He is predeceased by his parents, Phoebe & William; brothers: William, Eric, Reginald; sisters: Stella, Carrie, Melva, and Fronie. Visitation for Max will take place at the Salvation Army Church in Chance Cove, Friday, June 4th from 7-9 pm and Saturday, June 5th from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. A celebration of Max's life will be held on Sunday, June 6th at 2:30 pm at the Salvation Army Church in Chance Cove. Max was a warm and loving man who enjoyed life to the fullest. He was hard working and loved spending time with his family and friends playing his accordion and making people laugh and sing. We will miss him forever.

WHITE, Malcolm "Mick"
Pasadena, NL

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Malcolm Weldon White announces his passing on Monday, June 7th, 2010 at the Interfaith Home, at the age of 82 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories: his wife of 39 years, Jane; sons: Terry, Cyril and Gary (Robin); daughter, Susan; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; special family: Lorna; sister, Shirley Gosse (Dave); sister-in-law:, Phyllis Cass (Gordon), brother-in-law, Roy Batstone, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his father, Charles White; mother and stepfather, Janet and Joseph Anstey; brothers: Robert, Duncan, Frank, Calvin and Douglas; sisters: Ann and Audrey; mother and father-in-law, Joseph and Eileen Wells; brother-in-law, Fred and sister-in-law, Ruby. Visitation will take place from Fillatre's Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue, on Wednesday evening from 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 10th at 2:00 p.m. from Humber Valley United Church, Pasadena, with Reverend Andrew Wright officiating. Cremation will follow at Humber Valley Crematorium, with private burial at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society. WOOLF, Arthur W.
Arthur W. Woolf
, 87, the son of the late Fred and Olga Woolf Berman died unexpectedly on June 16, 2010, at his summer home in Casco, Maine. Arthur Woolf was born and raised in New York City. He attended schools in Manhattan and after graduation from high school he attended New York University until his service as a paratrooper in WW II. He was commissioned as a Captain. In 1947 he married Natalie Isaacson who survives him. From 1947 to 1955 he was associated with the Benjamin Isaacson Company and Sharlaines. From 1955 until 1965 they lived in Corner Brook, Newfoundland where Arthur operated a General Motors Automobile Agency and a foundry. On returning to Maine he operated the R.I. Mitchell Company. Afterward, he retired to West Palm Beach, Florida. During his lifetime, Arthur was active in many community organizations. He served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston. He also served as President of the Best Jacobs Synagogue Men's Club, and was a life-time member of the Rabbinic Lodge. He is survived by his wife; his daughter Vicki and Tim Van Hook of Atherton, California and their three grandchildren Sam, Sadie, and Saul as well as nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter Elaine Woolf. Graveside services were at the Beth Jacob Cemetery in Auburn, Maine. Memorial donations may be made to Jewish Family and Children's Services, P.O. YOUNG, Wallace
Plum Point

Passed away peacefully at his home, Mr. Wallace Young of Plum Point, in his 85th year. Wallace Young leaves with a lifetime of loving memories, daughters: Jane (Jim), Evelyn (Martin) and Ethel (Stan); sons: Primus (Theresa) and Wallace; his grandchildren: Gary (Rupa), Rick (Roxanne), Leona (Martin), Kimberly, Vicky (Patrick), Mitchell, Wesley, Jennifer, and Chris, as well as his great-grandchildren: Dillon, Brianna, Hailey, Nickolas and Vanessa; brother, Benjamin (Marion); sisters-in-law: Effie and Joyce; brother-in-law, Alfred and a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He will be sadly missed. Wallace was predeceased by his loving wife, Elizabeth; mother and stepfather, Matilda & William Coombs; sisters: MaryAnn and Sarah Fanny; brothers: George Y., Hubert Y., Kenneth and George C.; stepsister, Una; stepbrothers: Absalom, Jack and Hubert C. Visitation took place at The Church of the Advent in Plum Point, from where the funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 10 with Rev. Moore officiating. Burial followed at the Anglican Cemetery in Pond Cove. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Home. St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, Funeral Director.
