ABRAHAM, Ann (nee Chatwood)
1929-2010

Entered into eternal rest on Saturday, May 15th. Predeceased by her husband, Canon Charles Abraham in 2001 and her sister Philippa in 1941. Left to celebrate her life, son, Richard, and daughter Philippa Warren (Scott), brothers Albert and Andrew, grandchildren Hilary, Peter and Harry and many special nieces, nephews and friends. Ann was the Kindergarten teacher from 1949 to 1963 at Bishop Feild College in St. John's and a longtime volunteer at Cowan Heights Elementary School, where she was affectionately known as 'Grandmother'. She was also a Girl Guide leader, IODE member and very active at St. Luke's Home. Ann lived her life with purpose and conviction, and will be dearly missed by all she touched. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Tuesday, May 18th from 10 a.m.-12 noon, 2 p.m.-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A celebration of her life will take place at the Anglican Cathedral of St. John the Baptist on Wednesday, May 19th at 11 a.m. Flowers gratefully accepted, or donations in her memory, may be made to the Community Food Sharing Association or the Autism Society. 1954 - 2010

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Eric Clarence Anderson announce his passing on Sunday, May 2nd, 2010 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital, Corner Brook at the age of 55 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Roz of 12 years, step-daughter Debbi (John) Murphy; sons: Sheldon, Corey (Nikita) and Josh (Elaine); 7 grandchildren; parents Joe and Blanche Anderson; brothers: Jim (Lesley), Lew (Rosemarie), Russell (Shelley) and Joe; sisters: Mary, Louise (Wallace), Ina (Vernon), Iris (Bob) and Jane (Tony); brother-in-law Ben (Marian) Fushell; his two best buddies Moose and Dakota, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his brother Wayne, 1990, father & mother-in-law Ben & Minnie Fushell. Cremation has taken place at Humber Valley Crematorium. it is with great sadness that the family of the late James Andrews announce his passing at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital on Friday May 28th, 2010 at the age of 78 years. He will be dearly missed by his loving wife Joyce, his three son's; Barry (Darlynn) in Nanimo BC, Kevin (Nancy) in Kippens and Jim (Sharon) in St. Johns along with his five grandchildren; Ben, Aaron, Mark, Tammy and Nolan and his great grandchild Tarron. He also leaves with fond memories his three brothers; Mac (Ethel) in Corner Brook, Ed (Paulette) in Northern Arm and Rex in Point Lemington, his six sisters; Marion (Wes) Osmond in St.John's, Jean (Cator) Best in Kippens, Mildred (Bill) Brett, Bonnie (Clar) Warford and Diane (John) Cooper all in Point Lemington and Myrtle Morgan in Vancouver BC along with a large circle of relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his brother Barry. Funeral Services will take place on Tuesday June 1st, 2010 at 10:00 am from the First United Church on St. Clare Avenue in Stephenville with interment in the Hillside Interfaith Cemetery on the Hansen Highway. Passed away on Saturday, May 8th, 2010 at the Miller Centre in St. John's, after a courageous battle with cancer, Cyril Whycliffe Anstey of Corner Brook at the age of 79 years. Leaving behind his loving wife of 58 years: Helen (nee Vincent); children: Kenneth (Linda), Ellen Joy (David), Gary, Gerald (Sherry), Darren, Shirley (Mike), Rosellena (Tom) and Francis (Denise); grandchildren: Philip, Michael (Jesso), Tyler (Webster), Patrick, Jeremy, Zachary and Sarah (Jesso); sisters-in-law: Florence (Fred) and Letty (Gordon); as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is predeceasd by his brothers: Fred, Eric, Gordon and Wilfred; sister: Dorothy (Dot Wight); parents: John and Rose Anstey; and parents-in-law: Francis and Mary Vincent. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her devoted husband; Wayne, her children; Todd (daughter-in-law Fumie and granddaughter Kaede) of Japan, David (daughter-in-law Denise and granddaughter Heather) of Massey Drive and Shana (son-in-law Brett Allen) of Fort McMurray, AB and a special foster daughter Crystal Earle and grandson Jayden, her mother; Mrs. Kathleen Dinney, her siblings; Loretta (Maurice Wight), Worneta (Garry Cramm), Joanne (Rick Janes), Eric, John (Ruby), Gordon (Elizabeth) and Melvin (Phyllis), her mother and father-in-law; Carl and Mary Cooper, her brother-in-law; Keith (Bonnie) Cooper. She also leaves behind a large circle of extended family including nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Elaine had many close friends, she was a member of the Catholic Women's League in Deer Lake, but she was also a wonderful Mom to 38 foster children during her short but full life. Died suddenly in Truro, Nova Scotia on May 9, 2010, Ian Douglas Coveyduck, in his 65th year. Born in St. John's, Newfoundland, Ian was the son of the late Clayton Jacob Coveyduck and the late Phyllis (Snow) Coveyduck. He was predeceased by his brother, Paul. Leaving to mourn are his wife and best friend, Dawn (Noseworthy), daughters, Susan of Calgary AB, and Karen of Amherst NS, brother, Clayton (Joan) of Halifax NS, sister, Sharon Elliott (Andy) of Port Perry ON, and brother-in-law, Reverend Canon Ian Noseworthy of Toronto ON. Fondly remembered by a wide circle of family, business associates, and friends including Lee Smith, Gordie West and special pets, Bonnie, Casey, Shelby and Finn. Throughout his life, Ian was very active in the Masonic Order and while living in Newfoundland was a member of Whiteway Lodge and Concordant Bodies Shrine and Royal Order of Scotland. In Nova Scotia he was a member of Minas Lodge #67 of Parrsboro and the Royal Order of Scotland. Mathila spent most of her life raising her family in Boswarlos, NL and moved for a few years to Ontario, and then came to reside in 1979 to Luneburg. The warmth and friendliness of her Newfoundland spirit was always a large part of who she was. Whether in the home or the wider community, Mathila's kindness and generous love were experienced by both family and friends. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by her daughters: Mavis Smith of Bowanville, ON, Delores Labinowicz, Back Centre; sons: Calvin (Carole) Hoskins, Brampton, ON, Danny (Sheila) Hoskins, Dayspring, Charles, Brampton, ON, James (Karen) Hoskins, Blockhouse, John Hoskins, Lunenburg and Wallace Hoskins, Lunenburg; 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She was the beloved wife of Arthur Reid (predeceased), and dear mother to sixteen children; Richard (Lorna), Simeon (Alice), David (Betty), Laverne Langdon (Russel), Felix (Olive), Llewelyn (Judy), Rita Peddle (Wade), Anthony (Silvana), Susan (predeceased), Delilah Pardy (Eric), Darleen Reid, Ivy Pelley (Calvin), Wanda Hychar (Michael), Audrey Peddle (Jerry), Della Slade (Con), & Aubrey (Kimberly). She was a loving grandmother to thirty-three grandchildren, two "Special surrogate grandchildren, and many great grandchildren. She enjoyed a close friendship with her sisters; Mary-Alice Brown, Jessie Caines, Olive McKenzie, Ivy Payne (Buddy), and Nora Knott, brothers; Stanley (Bride), Colin (Linda), and sisters in law; Belinda Hutchings, Irma Hutchings, and Rita Pittman (Roland). , daughter of May and William Norman, wife of Dr. Neil Walsh and mother of Neil, Alison Graham, Peter and Margaret, died on her 88th birthday in Belmont Nursing Home in Toronto. Mairin and Neil came to Corner Brook in 1955 and were active members of the community for many years. Mairin moved to Toronto to be closer to her children after Neil died in 2001. Mairin will be remembered by the Corner Brook community for her wonderful acting and singing at many community events. Mairin was also a wonderful cook and for a short time had a cooking television program with the CBC. However to her family she was just "mom" who took care of everything. In her latter years, Mairin suffered from senile dementia but somehow retained the warmth that made her so special. She is survived by Neil, Alison, Graham and Margaret as well as 10 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She will not be forgotten. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, May 8th at 10:30 a.m. from the Cathedral of the Most Holy Redeemer, Mount Bernard Avenue with Monsignor Edwin Gale officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society or the Canadian Cancer Society. WAY, Robert Eugene "Bob"
Unexpectedly passed away at his home on Saturday, May 8th, 2010 at the age of 54. Cherished husband and best friend of Jane (nee Dingman) for 26 years. Loving father of Matthew and Eric. Adored son of Helen and the late Roland Way of Corner Brook, NL, Beloved son-in-law of Orville and Marion Dingman of Oshawa. Dear brother of Judie LeDrew (Len), Bryan and the late Barry. Brother-in-law of Bob and Maureen Dingman, Bill and Louise Dingman, Peter and Joan Lipscomb, Dianne Dingman, and Juliet Cooper. Bob will be especially missed by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. Bob will be best remembered for his love of bowling, poker and of Newfoundland. Friends may call at the Oshawa Funeral Home, 847 King Street West, Oshawa (905-721-1234) for a Celebration of Bob's Life on Thursday, May 13th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel on Friday, May 14th at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations will be graciously accepted for the Charity of your Choice.

The family of the late Francine Dianne Wilkins sadly announces her passing on Friday, May 7th, 2010 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital after a lengthy illness. Dianne leaves behind her husband and best friend of many years, Roy; her daughters: Jodi and Barbra (Calvin Downton); her son: David (Darlene); and two wonderful granddaughters: Madison Wilkins and Grace Downton. Dianne will also be missed by her sister Bobbie and her husband Don Pardy; her brother Bill Milley and his wife Lorraine; and sister-in-law Barbara Wilkins; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She was predeceased by her parents Frank and Dora Milley. Cremation has taken place at Humber Valley Crematorium. Friends may visit Fillatre's Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark's Avenue, on Tuesday from 7-9 PM. A celebration of Dianne's life will be held on Wednesday, May 12th, at 2:00 P.M. from Fillatre's Chapel, 4 St. Mark's Avenue, with interment to follow at Mt. Patricia Cemetery. Rev. Marilyn Avery officiating. As expressions of sympathy, flowers graciously accepted or a donation may be made to the Shriner's of Corner Brook, or a charity of one's choice. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Linda Ann Woods announce her passing at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital, Stephenville, on Wednesday, May 12, 2010, at the age of 54 years. She will be sadly missed by her loving husband, Aloysuis; two sons: Paul (Corina) Woods of Brampton, Ontario and Craig Woods (Tara Lucas) of Stephenville Crossing; one daughter, Tina (Kevin) Kendall of Abraham's Cove; seven sisters: Josie Legrow of Ottawa, Sharon Barnes of Edmonton, Betty Lainey of Fox Island River, Christine LeRoy-Nickerson, Lorraine Fewer, Marie Woods, all of Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, Ethel Labreche of Corner Brook; seven grandchildren: Julia Woods, Kaelan Kendall, Keegan Woods, Devon Dengler, Kameron Kendall, Tyler Woods, Avaha Woods and a large circle of relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Paul and Christina LeRoy. Cremation has taken place. Funeral service will take place at Russell's Funeral Home Chapel, 39 Queen Street, Stephenville on Friday, May 14th at 2:00 p.m. with Father Maurice O'Quinn officiating. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted or donations to the Canadian Cancer Society in her memory would be greatly appreciated.
