Passed away on Wednesday, April 28th, 2004 Wing Soon Oue, at Western Memorial Regional Hospital at the age of 88 years. He leaves to mourn wife Fung Oue; daughter Karen Oue, Montreal, Quebec; son Raymond Oue (Jenney), Calgary, Alberta; granddaughter Leann, grandson Devin; sister Chi Fong and her two sons and three daughters, and brother Ming Chun and his son Chi Yeung. Predeceased by parents Yee and Quan Sing Oue, and sister Yim Ho. Friends may visit Fillatre's Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9. The funeral service will be held on Monday, May 3rd at 2:00 p.m. from the First United Church, Park Street from where Mr. Oue will be transferred to Toronto for burial. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Stella Fitzgerald announces her peaceful passing at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital on Friday, April 30, 2004 at the age of 48 years. Passed peacefully away on Friday, April 30th, 2004 at home with her niece and nephew, Sunny and Gerard Griffin of Kippens. She was predeceased by her husband Walter, sister Gladys Fradsham and brother Victor March. Interment to follow at the Faith United Church Cemetery in Greens Harbour. She was predeceased by her husband Frank in 1975, three children, Louise, Bobby and Judith-Ann, her parents Alfred and Lydia Rodway and her brother Charles Rodway. Leaving to mourn ten children: Marlene Pike (Eric), Yvonne MacWhirter, Frank (Bess), Margie Gardner (Alonzo), Kevin (Chris), Debbie Wepf (Bruce), Alfred (Rose), Darrell, Bev O'Neil and Pat (Joanne); 20 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, two brothers: Wallace Rodway and Gordon Rodway (Margaret), three sisters: Marguerite Bungay (Bill), Jean Ford (Humphrey), Helen Higgins (Charles) and aunt Maud Pafford. She also leaves to mourn a large circle of relatives and friends. She was an active member of the Legion Ladies Auxillary for many years. The funeral Service will be held at the Humber United Church on Clarence Street, Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. Reverend Patricia Melindy officiating, followed by the interment at Mt. Patricia Cemetery. She was predeceased by her two brothers, Murdock Young and Bernard Young. Visitation took place on Sunday evening and Monday at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, Lourdes. Funeral service took place at Out Lady of Lourdes Parish, Lourdes on Tuesday, May 4th at 10:30 a.m. Cremation Service took place after the Funeral Service at Russell's Crematorium, Stephenville. Interment will take place at a later date.

She will be sadly missed by her husband Vincent Fitzpatrick; four children: Gail of Deer Lake, Todd of Calgary, Rob (Claire) of Calgary and Michael (Gemma) of St. John's; her grandchildren: Traci, Terri, Elaina, Michael, Ashley, Shawn, Rebecca, Andrew, Christian, Joshua and Makayla; five great-grandchildren: Luke, Kirkland, Ashlynn, Noah and Isaiah; four sisters: Wanda (Ted), Nola (Randy), Darlene (Oral) and Irma (Al); four brothers: Bob, Scott (Frances), Rick (Belinda) and Glen. Also a large circle of relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Uriah Chaulk in 1988, Bernice Anstey in 1993 and her step-father Ralph Anstey in 1991. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Doreen LeGrow, after a sudden and brief illness on Sunday, May 2, 2004 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook at the age of 66. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband Rev. Nelson LeGrow; three daughters: Donna, Victoria, BC, Tonia (Glenn Sheppard), Corner Brook and Nadine (Raymond) Elford, Corner Brook; son Paul (Winnie Dempsey) and three grandchildren: Nicholas, Amanda and Jessica Doreen, all of Fleur de Lys; brother Fred (Sadie) Churchill, Portugal Cove-St. Phillips; two sisters: Emma Parsons, Salmon Cove, Phyllis Somerton, Portugal Cove-St. Phillips; also survived by a great number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by parents Alfred and Fanny Jane Churchill of Portugal Cove-St. Phillips; granddaughter Kristina Marie Elford; five brothers and five sisters. (Doreen was an organ donor). Benjamin George Knee
of Corner Brook passed away Monday, May 10th, 2004, five weeks short of his 94th birthday. He was a retired carpenter and a well-known citizen of the city. He was married to Janie (Attwood), who predeceased him on August 25, 1981. They moved from Safe Harbour, Bonavista Bay to Corner Brook, where they married and raised a family of 13 children. One son, Robert, died in infancy. He is predeceased also by his daughters Ena Shirran and Pearl West and sons-in-law Hubert West and Kenneth Fisher. In 1984, Ben married Susie Lewis, who survives him and is a patient on the Alzheimer's Floor of Western Memorial Hospital. Leaving to mourn his passing are his children: Effie (Harold) Ward, Corner Brook; Ben (Maude), Corner Brook; Mae (Wallace) Burt, Corner Brook; Aux-Captain Douglas (Donna), Lower Sackville, NS; Beatrice (Winston) Burt, Corner Brook; Jean (Frank) Pilgrim, Pasadena; Wilfred (Peggy), Mount Pearl; Frank (Joan), Corner Brook; Major Audrey (Raymond) Rowe, St. John's; Dorothy (Aubrey) Budgell, Labrador City; and Major Doreen (Max) Sturge, Oshawa; son-in-law George Shirran, Bonavista; 44 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and 11 great great grandchildren. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Dorothy (Dot) Gladys Nichols announce her passing on Wednesday, May 19th, 2004 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital in her 91st year. Dorothy (Dot) Nichols was born in Millertown on June 13th, 1912 to William and Laura Wellon. She was a loving mother to daughter Laura Bridger (Manson), sons, Beaton (Beatrice), Fred (Patsy), Barry (Barbara) and daughter-in-law Mary Wellon. She was a grandmother to thirty grandchildren, thirty three great-grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Sister to Audrey Courage of Moncton, NB. Being a warm and loving sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to all 75 members of her immediate family, Dorothy will be greatly missed. She adopted many friendships throughout the course of her 91 years and was loved by everyone she ever came to meet and befriend. In the earlier years of her life she held a nursing profession in St. John's where she was a warm and loving caregiver. With her wise story telling and glowing sense of humor, Dorothy shared her sense of spirit. She was gifted with many creative talents, she enjoyed singing, organ playing, poetry, correspondence and many crafts. Dorothy Nichols was a grand public speaker, a proud member of the United Church and was actively involved with the UCW. This compassionate woman of dignity, charm and benevolence touched the lives of many. Her loving memories shall always be forever cherished in the hearts of those who loved her. We thank God for her loving gift of life. Through the glorious gates of Heaven, Dorothy has entered a place where the angels will surely embrace her. She was predeceased by her husband Douglas Norman Nichols, sons: Gary Nichols, William Wellon, sisters: Laura Rowsell and Marjorie Dawe, brothers: Arthur Wellon and Raymond Wellon and daughter-in-law Marion Nichols. Leaving to mourn her passing but giving thanks for her long life are: four sons: Maxwell (Clara), Corner Brook, Garfield (Daphne), Boom Siding, Melvin (Selma), Wallace, Corner Brook, three daughters: Geraldine (Charles) Ferguson, Brantford, ON, Joan (Roy) Wiseman, Pasadena, and Renee (Frank) Penney, Pasadena; step-daughter Josie (Baron) Butt, Corner Brook; daughter-in-law Renee Thomas, Corner Brook, 20 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, brother Aquilla (Mary), Port Blandford, NL, sisters: Mary (George) Moss, Don Mills, ON, and Eleanor (Walter) Smith, South River, NL, brother-in-law Clyde Dyke, Corner Brook, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews and many friends. Predeceased by her husband John Charles, 1941, son Clyde, 2001, step-daughter Joyce Wheeler, 2001, three sisters: Amelia, Minnie and Annie, two brothers Walter and Jerry. The family will be receiving friends from Fillatre's Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 26 at 2:00 p.m. from the Salvation Army Citadel, Clarence Street, Captain Scott Rideout officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers graciously accepted or donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.

He was predeceased by his brothers, Jack and Stan Hewitt, step-sister Mary Miller and his parents, John and Lavinia Hewitt. Cremation Service took place at Russell's Crematorium. On May 11, 2004 Michelle Marie Butt of Edmonton passed away at the age of 33 years. She leaves to mourn her two beautiful daughters: Meagan and Taylor; her mom Patsy Butt; sisters: Rachel and Melissa; brother Jeremy (Shelly) and daughter Adeline; father Keith (stepmom Marina); stepbrothers: Joshua and Kenny; loving friend Sean; grandmothers: Cecilia Blanchard and Adeline Butt. Many close relatives and friends in Newfoundland. Funeral Mass will be held at Assumption Parish, Stephenville Crossing at 10 a.m. Tuesday June 1st.
