It is with heavy hearts that the family of Angelo (Andy) Barillari announce his passing at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook, NL, on Tuesday, April 1st, 2014, at the age of 59 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Yvonne Compton, and his loyal companion Abby. As per Angelo (Andy's) wishes cremation has taken place and the family will be having a private family ceremony at a later date. BARRETT, Gertrude Naomi
Gertrude was born at Mount Moriah Newfoundland and she passed away at Lisaard House, with family by her side on Wednesday April 2, at the age of 100. Predeceased by her beloved husband, Frank L. Barrett; her son, Franklyn (Annalise Wiebe); and parents, Henry Thomas and Dorcas Ellen (nee Miles) Porter. She was also predeceased by her six brothers and sisters, Annette (Zachariah Park); Myrtle (Lester Allen); Brandford (Rachel Hunt); Herbert (Lillian Allen); Matilda (Ralph Elsworth); and Margaret. Gertrude is survived by her sons, Harry and his wife Juanita and Roland and his wife Karen; 13 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. For a number of elections, she was the Province of Ontario Returning Officer for the Electoral District of Kitchener. Visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Sunday April 6th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at The Church of St. John the Evangelist, 23 Water St. N., Kitchener on Monday April 7th at 11:00 a.m. A reception will immediately follow at the church. Cremation with interment at Memory Gardens, Breslau. passed away after a brief illness at Western Memorial Hospital on Sunday, April 6, 2014 at 98 years old. Predeceased by her husband David Beatty Bartlett, as well as daughters Phyllis and Lorena Bartlett and Joyce Sutton. Leaving to mourn her long time friend and companion Jack McCarthy; granddaughter Vikki Harris-Anstey (Bob Nugent); grandson David Harris (Ruth Warner); great-grandchildren Gavin Anstey, Christina Anstey and their father Gary Anstey. She also leaves to mourn countless friends and relatives. Visitation will take place Tuesday, April 8, 2014 2:00 - 4:00 pm and 7:00 - 9:00 pm and Wednesday, April 9, 2014 2:00 - 4:00 pm and 7:00 - 9:00 pm at Fillatre's Funeral Home on 218 Curling Street. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Jean Barry; daughter Margie (Joe) Vokey, grandsons: Joey (Natasha) Vokey and Danny (Sabrina) Vokey, all of Corner Brook; sisters: Alice Caines, Deer Lake and Marie White, Pasadena; brothers: Donnie (Carolyn), BC, Jerry (Joyce), Albert (Christine) and Lawrence, all of Pasadena; sister-in-law Melvina; special nephews: Arthur (Roslyn) Bennett, Cyril (Doris) Bennett and Bobbie (Rhoda) Bennett, as well as a large circle of nieces & nephews, other relatives and friends. The family of the late Jean G. Brake wish to advise of the passing of a precious wife, mother, grandmother and the best friend anybody could wish to have, following a courageous battle with leukemia. She leaves to mourn her husband of 47 years, Stan; daughter Katherine Fancey (Sean) of Stony Plain, AB; son Warren (Jennifer Higgins) of Halifax, NS; grandchildren: Matthew Fancey, Robin Fancey, Aaron Higgins-Brake and Jeremy Higgins-Brake; brother James R. Dawe (Jeanette) of Burlington, ON; sister-in-law Elizabeth Meade and brothers-in-law William Brake (Madeline) and Freeman Brake (Maisie), along with a number of relatives. She was predeceased by her parents Warren and Edith Dawe and in-laws William and Beatrice Brake, along with many other relatives. Jean was a member of Zeta Masters of Beta Sigma Phi. She was an accomplished artist and a member of the League of Artists of Western Newfoundland. Most especially she enjoyed the outdoors and was very proud of conquering Gros Morne Mountain on 4 occasions along with most other hills and trails in the area. However her love of gardening over ruled all others with having to be reminded of darkness in the evening before tearing out one last weed. Cremation has taken place. Friends may visit Fillatre's Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark's Avenue on Saturday 2-4 & 7-9 PM. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 13 at 3:00 PM from All Saints Anglican Church, Clarence Street with Rev. Tanya White officiating. Interment at a later date. It is with great sadness the family of Edward Wilfred Burton announce his passing on Tuesday, April 22nd, 2014 at the Health Science Centre in St. John's, at the age of 67. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 46 years, Barbara; son, Jason (Angie); grandson, Cameron Pike and his beloved family pet, Kimmy; sisters and brothers: Marjorie Brake (Wilbur), Barbara Billard (Clarence), Bill Burton (Nora), Lorne Burton (Betty), Marie Baldwin (Charles), Norma Barsi (Wayne), Gary Burton (Myrtle); as well as numerous nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Wilfred & Hannah Burton; nieces: Paula Burton and Colleen Pennell. The funeral service will be held Sunday, April 27th at 2:00 p.m. from Memorial United Church, Curling Street, Pastor Wendy Lowden officiating; followed by the interment at Mt. Patricia Cemetery. COLBOURNE, Edward Allan (Ted)

It is with great sadness the family of (Ted) Edward Allan Colbourne announce his passing at the age of 71 years, on Monday April 21, 2014, after a long courageous battle with cancer. He leaves to mourn: his wife and best friend of 15 years, Genny (Noftall); sons: Todd (Venessa), Brian (Jacqueline), Corey (Kelly); stepson, Kristofer (Tracy), stepdaughter, Kendra (Adrian); grandchildren: Nikko, Cameron, Dylan, Hudson, Madelyn, Alexa, Abbi, Jacob, Emily and Alex. As well, he will be sadly missed by his sister, Pauline Miller (Ron); brothers: Don (Ida), Fred (Elsie), Ray (May), Brian (Sandra); sister, Pam Hawco (Jim); sister-in-law, Pam Thibeault; father-in-law, Duke Noftall; many nieces and nephews and a wide circle of friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Harold & Nellie Colbourne; mother-in-law, Yvonne Noftall. Ted was a die hard Blue Jays, Dodgers and Maple Leafs fan, true blue to the end. Ted loved baseball and he loved to play the game with his four brothers. He was also an avid bowler and will be missed by all his friends at the alleys. Last but not least, Ted loved to go fishing, especially with his buddy, John Hancock. Happy fishing, Ted; hope you catch the BIG one in heaven. COLBOURNE, Ernest "Ern"
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Ernest (Ern) Colbourne announce his sudden passing at the age of 67 years. His passing occurred on April 2, 2014 while vacationing in Florida. Ern leaves to mourn his loving wife Betty of 43 years, sons: Tom (Melissa), Paul (Alicia), stepson Craig (Camiele), grandchildren: Danielle (Arthur), Dagney (Andre), Danny (Danielle), Ryder, Ethan, Jakob, Cassie, Noah and his mom Andrea, two great-grandchildren: Alexandra and Nelson. Ern is also survived by brother Willie (Patricia), sisters: Edna (Patrick), Bernice (Major Leighton), Mabel (Norm), Mary (Garfield), brothers-in-law Grenfell (Nancy), Derrick (Mildred), sister-in-law Hope (Alan). He was predeceased by his infant son Ernest Jr. 1975, father Thomas 1970, mother Cassie 1996, nephew Bradley Patey 1999. Ern's life touched a large circle, including nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He will be sorely missed and fondly remembered by the Men's Group and Congregation of Humber Valley United Church. Visitation will take place on Wednesday April 9, from 7-9 in Bonnell Hall. A service of Celebration will be held at Humber Valley United Church in Pasadena on Thursday morning April 10, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Tony Newell and Rev. Andrew Wright officiating. COLSON, Eddy
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Eddy Colson announce his passing at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital on Monday April 7th 2014 at the age of 53 years. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife Karen, his two sons: Joshua (Gina) and Garet all in Stephenville, his two brothers: Amos (Debbie) in Stephenville, Gordon (Theresa) in Alberta, his three sisters: Ann in Oklahoma, Edie (Harold) in Washington, Rita (Gus) in Campbell's Creek. Also leaving to mourn are his grandchildren: Destiny, Denver, Dylyn, Domonick, Daniel and a large number of nieces, nephews relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Ralph and Margaret Colson and his two sisters: Marie and Rose. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Dorothy Compagnon announce her passing on Sunday, April 6th 2014 at the Bay St. George Long Term Care Center at the age of 98 years. She will be sadly missed by her family, daughter Emily (Kevin) Cooper in Kippens, Ann Pedigo in Glasgow Kentucky, Shirley Saunders in Ottawa, Bill (Connie) Compagnon in Dartmouth NS, long time companion Sam Davis. Also leaving to mourn are 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and a large circle of relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband William in 1969, sons: Gerald in 1998, Ivan in 1965, daughter Hazel in 2005 and granddaughter Colleen Nickerson in 2006, sisters: Florence, Winnie and Annie May, brothers: Arthur, Raymond, Chesley, George and Isaac. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Carl Cull announce his passing on Friday, April 11th, 2014 at his family residence in his 62nd year. He will be sadly missed by his loving family, his mother Frances, sister Donna (Scott) Thomas of Wandering River, Alberta, brothers: Calvin (Alice) of Lawrence, Nova Scotia, Cordell of Didsbury, Alberta and Jim of Deer Lake. His nieces and nephews, Shawn (Julia), Christine (Christopher) Langdon, Laura (Colin) Anderson, Lucas (Devon) and Donovan. Great nieces and nephews: Nathan, Kylie, Kiera, Alexandria, Corbin, Noah and Caelyn. Also a large circle of relatives and friends. Carl was predeceased by his father Norman in October 1996, brother Ivan in October 2001 and sister-in-law Patricia in February 2013. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, her children: Herb (Evelyn), Boswarlos, Fred (Fran), Bradenton, Florida, James (Leone), Corner Brook, Joan (Russell) Lutz, Port Rowan, Ontario, Hardy (Sandra), Fort McMurray, Shirley (Glen) Small, Grand Falls, Bruce (Betty) and Lloyd (Stephanie), both of Toronto, Ontario; 15 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relative and friends. DENNISON, Joan Mary

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Joan Mary Dennison (nee Outram), announce her passing on April 6, 2014, at the Notre Dame Bay Memorial Health Centre in Twillingate at the age of 82 years. Predeceased by her husband Dr. Alfred H. Dennison in 1978, and her parents William and Helen Outram. Left with a lifetime of wonderful memories are her loving sister: Margaret Outram, England, her children Helen (Keith Walker), John (Katherine) and her grandchildren, Alex, Tyler, Andressa and Peter, whom she loved dearly. Also leaving a larger circle of family and friends throughout both Canada and the United Kingdom. At Joan's request, cremation has taken place with Memorial Service and interment to take place on Saturday, May 10th at 2pm at St. Peter's Anglican Church in Twillingate. The family will be receiving friends at Isles Funeral Home, 2 Whitehome's Hill in Twillingate on Friday, May 9th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A very special thank you to Dr. Popaduik, Dr. Melvin, Dr. Duggan, Dr. Ravalia, Dr. Keough, and Cathy Cahill for your skill, dedication, compassion and support. Also, thank you to the staff of the Notre Dame Bay Memorial Health Centre and all of her friends who took such good care of Mom during her final days. We will always be grateful to you for making such a difficult time easier. , age 83 of Corner Brook, passed peacefully away on Tuesday, April 8, 2014. He was born to the late Raymond and Eva Dolter of Saskatchewan. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife of 57 years, Ina (nee Gillam); sons Mike (Bev) and Sean (Kim Thistle); grandchildren: Tyler, Devan, Alex (Meagan), Ashley, Jesse (Jean-Francois), and Zachary; sister Joan Keilt; son-in-law Jerry George; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. With great sorrow, he was predeceased by his daughter, Tina; brother Clarence and sister Terry. Family and friends were Earl's passion and joy. He enjoyed spending time at George's Lake with all of his cabin friends. He loved to entertain with his wife Ina, play Growl, and talk about his old military days. On April 5th, surrounded by love, Elias James Hawco (59) passed peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer. Leaving with beautiful memories, his devoted wife of 40 years, Betty; his "little girls" Tracey (Leigh), Tanya (Terry) and Tamara (Jonathan); the joys of his life, grandsons Carson and Bryson; his loving mother, Ida; adoring sisters Yvonne (Harold) and Joanne (Jack) and a wide circle of family and friends. He is predeceased by his father Edward and brother Ray. In respect of Elias' wishes, we will say our final goodbye in a private family ceremony. Taken from us suddenly in Toronto at age 61. Predeceased by his father Howard. Sadly missed by his wife Gwen, Step-mother Marie Colbourne, sisters Deana Keetch (Paul) and Sharon Colbourne (Reg Young), niece Natasha Dobbin (Dwight Janes). Lloyd will also be missed by his many Corner Brook childhood friends and relatives. Cremation has taken place. Internment in Corner Brook at a later date. Lloyd was a kind and gentle person who loved spending time with family and friends.

Wayne was born December 21,1948 in St. Johns NL, the son of Hilda and the late Albert Lewis. Wayne was a professional firefighter and retired in 2009 as a Captain from the Corner Brook Fire Department following 35 years of service. He always looked forward to his many moose hunting trips, a day spent snowmobiling and a good game of darts. Wayne's laughter and smile will forever warm the hearts of his family and friends. Wayne will be sadly missed by his mother Hilda Lewis, sister Diane Anstey (Brian) and nephew Brandon, step-daughters, Joan Byrne and Donna Cox (Martin) and granddaughter Avery, and his long time friend and companion Maxine Murphy and a large circle of family and friends. It is with sadness and fond memories that the family of the late Susannah Pennell would like to inform those who knew her of her passing on the 24th of April, 2014 at the age of 90. She was the last surviving member of the family of Julia Barnes and husband, William Hynes. She was born on Wood's Island and moved to Lark Harbour during resettlement and lived happily there with her husband, Jim, for many years. She is survived by a large number of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, James Pennell; her brother, William and his wife, Dorothy; her sister, Angelina Brown and her husband, Herbert; and her brother, John Sam Pennell and his wife, Elizabeth. Friends and family may visit Fillatre's Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street, Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and St. James Anglican Church, Lark Harbour on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to Noon, from where the funeral service will take place at 2:00 p.m., Rev. He married Phyllis Vincent of Pilley's Island on December 3rd, 1952 and they remained married for 61 years. His vocations in life were a logger, painter, drywaller and finally working at Lundrigan's Block Plant in Corner Brook until his retirement.
