It is with great sadness that the family of the late Jeffrey R. Clarke announce his peaceful passing after his courageous battle with cancer at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John's on Wednesday, March 30, 2005 at the age of 40 years. He will be sadly missed by his loving partner Linda and his parents, Ross and Betty Clarke of Lewisporte, one brother, Shawn (Kim) Clarke of Courtice, Ontario and grandfather, Earl Whalen of Western Bay, aunts: Betty (Bill) Collins of Paradise, Maxine Gregory Lane of Grand Falls-Windsor, Dorothy (Bill) Crummey of Western Bay, Greta (Dave) Lilly of Paradise, uncles: Boyd (Marie) Whalen of Western Bay, Gerald (Julie) Clarke of Norland, Ontario, Roland (Jean) Clarke of Oshawa, Ontario and nephews: Dylan and Nolan Clarke and the Peterson family (Peggy and Judy) and a large circle of relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his grandmother Whalen, grandmother and grandfather Clarke, uncle Sterling Clarke. Friends may call at Russell's Funeral Home, 39 Queen Street, Stephenville on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Saturday, April 2nd at 2:00 p.m. at the United Church, St. Clare Avenue, Stephenville with interment in the Hillside Interfaith Cemetery, Hansen Highway, Stephenville. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Rita Tourout announce her passing at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital in Stephenville on Wednesday, March 20, 2005 at the age of 83 years. She will be sadly missed by six sons: Curtis (Geraldine) Tourout, Randy Tourout, all of Piccadilly, Ralph Jr. (Linda) Tourout of Prince Edward Island, Leroy (Judy) Tourout, Gary (Vicky) Tourout, Danny (Linda) Tourout, all of Manitouwadge, Ontario and four daughters: Madonna Hynes of Port au Port, Dale (Tony) Gaspar, Lisa Jomphe, all of Manitouwadge, Ontario, Marty (Ricky) Formanger of Piccadilly and three brothers: Howard Gale, Michael Jr. (Theresa) Gale, Bertrum (Lillian) Gale, all of Piccadilly and two sisters: Ethel Tourout of Piccadilly, Margaret Jason of Stephenville; 25 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and a large circle of relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Ralph Tourout and one son, Hubert Tourout. Friends may call at the family residence in Piccadilly on Saturday (after 3:00 p.m.) and Sunday. Funeral Service will take place on Monday, April 4th at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Parish, Piccadilly with interment in the Roman Catholic Cemetery in Piccadilly. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Kevin Doucette announce his passing at Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook on March 29, 2005 at the age of 32. He leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories his parents: Walter and Bernadette (Chaisson) Doucet, of Tompkins; brother Blair, of Benoit's Cove; grandmother Kathleen Chaisson, of Searston; great grandmother Mary Chaisson, of Port aux Basques; four uncles; eight aunts and their families; special friends and caregivers: Irving and Fran Campbell, of Labrador, Ray and Rose Power, of Benoit's Cove, Edward and Phyllis White, of John's Beach. He is predeceased by grandfather Gerald Chaisson and grandparents: Walter Sr. and Gertrude (MacNeil) Doucet, two uncles and one aunt. Cremation took place from Humber Valley Crematorium. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Arthur Ellsworth announces his passing at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital on Wednesday, March 30, 2005 in his 95th year. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his four sons: Ralph (Olive) of Meadows, Aubrey (Mabel) of Hughes Brook, Ivan (Debbie) and Alfred (Lorraine) all of Corner Brook; three daughters: Fern Mason, Beckenham Kent, England, Regina Park (Wallace) and Anna Pittman (Churchill) all of Meadows; sister Nonia George; son-in-law Jerry Brake and daughter-in-law Elizabeth Ellsworth; 32 grandchildren; 46 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter Alma Brake (1981), wife Maria (1995), son Ashley (1998) and son-in-law John Mason. Visitation will take place at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Meadows on Friday, April 1, 2005. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, April 2, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Stanley George Francis announce his passing on Thursday, March 31st, 2005 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital in his 77th year. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Beatrice Gwen (nee Bishop); four daughters: Louise (Glenn Burton) of Deer Lake, Gloria Francis (George Halfyard) of Wiltondale, Nina (Dmitirly Mezlinskly) of St. John's and Jennifer Francis (fiancé Glenn Doman) of Deer Lake; one son, James (Angela Boland) of St. John's; 14 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; one sister, Hilda Decker of Rocky Harbour; one brother Roland Francis of Deer Lake; also a large circle of relatives and friends. Stanley was known as a long time fiddler and accordion player. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Joyce Brett announce her sudden passing as a result of a motor vehicle accident at the age of 78 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband Cecil; two sons: Dana Brett of Taiwan, Kirk (Kelly) Brett of St. John's; five daughters: Norma (Harvey) Fradsham of Corner Brook; Rosalind (John) Priddle of Stephenville; June (Phil) Jarvis of Toronto; Brada (Derrick) Purchase of Kippens; Pauline (Allister) Hewitt of Sop's Arm; eleven cherished grandchildren and twelve precious great-grandchildren; brothers: Watson (Ethlyn) Budden of Sop's Arm, Cranley (Marie) Budden of St. John's. Joyce will also be remembered by a large circle of friends and relatives. She was predeceased by her parents Stanley and Martha Budden and sisters Effie and Stella, brothers George and Leander. John was a member of the Humber United Church Men's Club, the Orange Lodge and a longtime employee of North Star Cement Ltd. He will be sadly missed by his family, four sons: Herbert (Florence), Alvin (Jean), Clayton, Hedley (Susan) all of Trout River; two daughters: Jessie (Milton) Young of Barrie, Ontario and Nellie (Carl) Martin of Trout River. Also a number of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Flora, daughters, Lily Brake and Annie Parsons. are celebrating their 65th anniversary today. The pair were married at St. Mary's Anglican Church in Curling April 15, 1940. The Parks, both 84-years-old, still attend church and family functions. The Parks have one daughter, Grace, who is married to Reg Reader. The happy couple have four sons, William and his wife Millicent, Irvine Jr. and his wife Yvonne, Clarence and his wife Judy, all residing in Cox's Cove and son Elvis and his wife Mary Ann who are living in Corner Brook. The Park's son Samuel died in 1966. The Parks have 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Irvine and Pearl are set to celebrate their anniversary with a supper at St. Nicholas' Anglican Church basement in Cox's Cove at 4 p.m. Sunday. The dinner will be followed by a church service.

In her youth living in Newfoundland she was very active in theatre and she was a gifted organist and soloist, which later lead her to become a church organist in Western Newfoundland and she taught piano for many years. Reta was a foster parent and was a member of the New Brunswick Foster Parents Association. Daphne ended her long battle with cancer and is survived by her daughters: Tanya (Brent), Spruce Grove, Alberta, Lesley (Brian) of Deer Lake, NL and loving grandson Mathew, also of Spruce Grove, Alberta. She is survived by mother, Helen Sparkes and predeceased by her father, Alexander Sparkes. She leaves to mourn her brothers: Warren, Kevin (Phylis) of Rocky Harbour, NL, Larry (Bev) of Toronto, Ontario and Carson of Lloydminster, Alberta; her sisters: Belinda (Walter), Nancy, Marilyn (Stanley) of Rocky Harbour, NL, Yula (Max) and Luanne (Owen) of Fort McMurray, Alberta. Daphne is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins who showed endless support and care through her illness and held a special place in her heart. Bertha and Cecil Rioux are pleased to announce the marriage of their daughter Shallon to Wade Lucas, son of Martha and Cornelius Lucas, both of Stephenville Crossing. The couple were married on April 2, 2005 at a quiet ceremony in Niagara Falls, Ontario. Shallon and Wade currently work and reside in Newmarket, Ontario. Best wishes extended from all family and friends.
