City, Genny (Eugene) Flight of Stephenville, Regina (Edgar) Cutler of St. George's, Evelyn (Vince) Hulan of Stephenville, Reva (Joe) Hutchings of Edmonton, Barbara (Austin) Drover of Lab. City, Donna (David) Pelley of Lab. City and sister-in-law, Kathleen Philpott of Trepassey, brother-in-law, Alphonsus Molloy of Trepassey, 21 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and a large circle of relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Bernard Alexander on October 3, 1973. Passed peacefully at Brampton Civic Hospital, after a courageous year long battle with illness, with her faithful partner, Kenneth Sweetland, at her side. She is dearly missed and loved by her children: Jeremy Beales of Fort McMurray, AB, Jennifer Beales (Robert Downs) of Red Deer, AB and Mark Clarke, Saskatoon SK, as well as grandchildren: Kyle, Kalem, Kierrah and Kameron Beales of Montreal, QC. Lovingly remembered by brothers: Puis, Tony and Gary Beales; sisters: Irene Jesso, Genine Park, Aggie Brothers, Helen Deluney and Glenda Beales, as well as their families. Phyllis is predeceased by her husband Bruce Park, (2003) McIvers, NL; her dear son Jonathan Beales (2007); sister Sibby Cooper; and her parents Philip and Mildred Beales. Phyllis resided in Brampton, ON for the past five years and spent several years in Kitchener, ON. She was born and raised in Curling, NL. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a future date.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mike. Surrounded by his loving family, he left us peacefully with the same strength and determination with which he lived his life. He is survived by his loving wife Marina and children Martin (Jen), Clayton (Meaghan), Sarah (Phil), Kirstie, mother Evelyn, father Ronald Joseph (predeceased), brothers Wayne (Joanne and Joshua), Ken (Marsha), father-in-law Romeo Plante, sisters-in-law, Rosalie (Chris), Delorie (Tom), Suzanne (Vic), Giselle (Gordon), brother-in-law Norris (Claudette), grandchildren Preston and Stephanie, numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Born in Stephenville, NL, Mike dedicated his life to his two loves - his family and his Naval service. Mike's incredible selflessness, strength and determination underscored the way he lived. A true sailor and friend to all, Mike served his country well in more than half a dozen ships and shore establishments and most notably as Coxswain of HMCS Algonquin until August 2009. A vigil prayer service was held on Thursday, March 18th at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of The Rosary Catholic Church, 798 Goldstream Avenue, Langford, BC. She will be dearly missed by a special friend of the family Nolan Young, her children: Carol Ann (Andrew) Hickey of Flat Bay, Nancy Young of Saint John, New Brunswick, Joseph "Clarky" (Pauline) Young of Stephenville and Veronica "Vonnie" (Harvey) Young of Barachois Brook. It is with great sadness that the family of the late John "Harold" Young announce his passing at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital, Stephenville, on Wednesday, March 17, 2010, at the age of 74 years. He will be sadly missed by one son, George Bennett of Ontario; one daughter, Audrey (Jerry) Hann of Stephenville; two brothers: Donald Young of Stephenville Crossing and Henry Joseph Young of St. George's; two sisters: Diane Bennett of Stephenville Crossing and Loretta Muise of St. Gorge's; two grandchildren: Samantha and Steven and a large circle of relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Henry and Mary Young and sisters: Stella Muise and Laura Messervey. Cremation has taken place and friends may call at Russell's Funeral Home, Station Road, Stephenville Crossing, on Thursday from 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Friday, March 19th at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Parish in St. George's with interment in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Courthouse Road, St. George's. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of one's choice would be greatly appreciated.

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Mary Young announce her passing at the Bay St. George Long Term Care Centre, Stephenville Crossing on Monday, March 15, 2010 at the age of 83 years. She will be sadly missed by her son, Patrick (Valerie) Young of Ship Cove, four daughters: Marie (Cyril) House of Truro, Nova Scotia, Patricia (Leo) Peters of Fort McMurray, Anita (Agustus) Benoit of Lourdes, Sandra Marche of Calgary and 14 grandchildren: Fabian, Lori Ann, Annette, Keifer, Jason, Renetta, Ian, Duane, Gwendolyn, Susan, Donnalynn, Craig, Brad, Dawn, 17 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and a large circle of relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Matthew R. Young and parents, John Joe and Selina Snook, grandson, Quentin Young. Friends may call at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, Lourdes on Thursday and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, March 20th at 2:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, Lourdes with Interment in the Roman Catholic Cemetery in West Bay. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Lourdes Grotto Fund would be greatly appreciated. Funeral arrangements are under the supervision of Russell's Funeral Home, Stephenville.
