STANFORD, Joyce Muriel
Dear mother of Ron, Don and Jim. You passed quietly away on Easter Sunday morning, March 23, in your 88th year in Niagara Falls, Ontario. Born in Canso, N.S. on May 30, 1920, you grew up in Cape Race, Nfld., Yarmouth, N.S., St. John and Moncton, N.B. You married your husband Reg in March 1946. In 1948, you and dad moved to Corner Brook, where you lived until 1981, when you moved to St. Catharines. Ont. Sadly, your husband and our father passed away on March 18, 2007. Mom, we can't believe you've gone, and it's far too early to accept it. I already miss those early morning 'phone calls that I regularly complained about. They are never going to come again. When the telephone rings now, I wish to God that the person calling was you. You and dad were sterling models for us of how to live our lives with honesty, dignity, humour and loyalty to friends. How you loved to laugh, especially about things you had done or said! You will be remembered for your personal courage and unfailing love for us. Please keep on watching over us, loving us and keeping us from harm as you always did in life. 'Bye for now from Ron in Toronto, Don and Marilyn (and their children David, Steven and Alison) in Oshawa, Ont. and Jim in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. May how we lead our lives be worthy of you and dad. We'll meet again. So much love and appreciation. Joyce will be deepy missed also by her sisters: Margaret, Marie and Shirley and brothers: Eric and Don. She was predeceased by her husband Reg and brother George. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Beamsville, Ontario
