It is with great sadness that the family of the late Shirley Rideout announce her passing on Wednesday, February 26th, 2003 at her family residence at the age of 40 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband Rick; children: April, Kayla and Ricky; two sisters: Patricia Hiscock, Deer Lake and Kimberly White, Toronto; brother Gary White, Toronto; parents-in-law: Melvin and Anne Rideout, Cormack and special aunt Edna Clarke, Corner Brook, as well as a large circle of relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her mother Sylvia. Visitation will be held at St. George's Anglican Church in Cormack today from where the funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 2nd at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Carol Daley officiating. Todd and Fumie Cooper of Takoka City, Japan are pleased to announce the birth of their daughter, Kaede (KAH-EH-DAY) Christina, born on January 21, 2003. Proud grandparents are Wayne and Elaine Cooper of Deer Lake and Kyoko and the late Hideoki Kane of Takoka City. Kaede ("maple leaf" in english) is the great-grandchild of Carl and Mary Cooper, and Kay and the late Warrick Dinney of Deer Lake.

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Evelyn M. Pynn announce her passing on Saturday, March 1st, 2003 at the W.M.R. Hospital in her 76th year. She will be sadly missed by her four daughters: Patsy (Gilbert) Goobie of St. John's, Marilyn (Llewellyn) Ralph of Jackson's Arm, Mildred (Woodrow) Combdon of Brampton, Ontario, and Hursey (Tony) Fretis of Ottawa, Ontario. Her step-daughter Adelaide Colbourne of Hampden; five sons: Frederick of Jackson's Arm, Ross (Audrey) of Hampden, Wallace of Brampton, Ontario, Royburn (Karen) and Carl Pynn and fiancee Trudy both of Hampden. Her loving mother Elizabeth Ann Osmond of Hampden; 25 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Her 2 brothers: Albert (Edna), Steward (Betty) both of Hampden; 3 sisters: Rebecca Ralph of Jackson's Arm, Margaret (Leslie) Osmond of Hampden and Fannie Saunders (Albert Barrow) of Deer Lake, also a large circle of relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Leslie Joseph Pynn and son Leward Pynn and step-son Jim Pynn. She is survived by her 5 sisters: Ann McCarthy, Dorothy (Dan) Quilty, Madeline McCarthy, Eileen (Toots) McCarthy and Sheila Froud all of Corner Brook; 5 brothers: Michael McCarthy of Ottawa, Frank McCarthy of Brantford, Ont., Danny (Margaret) McCarthy of Hughes Brook, Joseph McCarthy and Jack (Christine) McCarthy both of Corner Brook. Special friends Eileen Gale of Stephenville and Helen George of Corner Brook; two uncles, Donald and Albert O'Brien of Corner Brook, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She is predeceased by her parents and a brother Jim in infancy. Many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends living in Newfoundland, Toronto and The United States. He was predeceased by his parents, brothers and sisters. Will be fondly remembered by her children Edward W. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Rev. Abraham Downey announce his passing at the Green Bay Health Centre in Springdale on March 2, 2003 at the age of 75 years and 5 months. Rev. Downey was a member of McDonald LOL # 239 Lester Pearson R.B.P. 1319. Rev. Downey retired from the United Church of Canada in 1993. Predeceased by mother and father Maud and Rufus Downey. Left with fond and loving memories are his loving wife Margaurite, sons: Douglas (Mildred) Springdale, Lawrence (Helen) Springdale, daughters Lorina (Gordon) Springdale, Christine (Jerry) Corner Brook and Millicent (Lou) Okotoks, Alberta. Also leaving to mourn brother Raymond and wife Marly, grandchildren: Natasha (Tavin), Danny, Vanessa (Gord), Aileen (Jamie), Michelle, Lawrence Jr., Monica and Tricha, great-grandchildren: Winona and Jayden, sisters-in-law: Geraldine, Beulah and Pauline. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her daughter Lillian Payne of Glenburnie; her special granddaughter Dorothy (Myles) Caines of Glenburnie; her grandchildren: Shirley (Terry) of Corner Brook, Nancy (George) of Woody Point, Dianne (Fred) of Rocky Harbour, Judy (Paul) of Shoal Brook, Wavey of Glenburnie, Jerry (Denise) of Glenburnie, Tony (Stephanie) of Woody Point and Terry (Rhonda) of Corner Brook. Her special great-grandson Stephen; 13 great-grandchildren; one brother James Harris of Corner Brook and one sister Rita White of Ontario. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Bernetta (nee Critch); his brothers: Van (Priscilla) of Lloydminister, AB, Tyrone of Port Elgin, Ontario, Hank and Harley of Brampton, Ontario and Corey (Lori) of Deer Lake; his sisters: Kay (Mike) Kelly of Deer Lake, Shelley (Tony) Coreia of Brampton, Ontario; six nieces; three nephews and his godson Kevin Serrick (nephew); his special buddy, his dog Duke. He was predeceased by his daughter Colette on November 22nd, 1987 and his son Jimmy on August 2nd, 1993 and his father Jim on July 19th, 1998. It is with great sorrow that the family of the late Ross Jefferies wishes to inform you that on Sunday January 12, 2003 he passed away very peacefully in Peterborough, Ontario after a very short battle with liver cancer. Ross was born in Deer Lake, Newfoundland on April 1, 1941 to the late Dorcas and Arthur Jefferies. He was the loving husband of Louise Jefferies for 39 years. He was the devoted father of Lori, Peter and Leigh Ann Jefferies and the World's Greatest Papa to Sara Jefferies-McLean. Ross was "little brother" to Earl (Maryann) Jefferies, Merriam (the late Garfield) Stuckless, Merle (Duncan) Osbourne, Grace (the late Ward) Serrick, and Joan (the late Harry) O'Hare. He will be sadly missed by more family members than we can even list. As was his wishes, he was totally surrounded by his family when he gently passed on. He was cremated, and a very private family service was held on Saturday January 18, 2003.

She will be sadly missed by her loving and devoted husband Norman; her three sons: Victor (Karen) of Rocky Harbour, Todd (Gail) and Tad both of Cow Head; her two daughters: Jackie (Norm) Payne of Fort McMurray and Paula Hynes and Rod Combdon of Cow Head; her ten grandchildren: Gina, Kent, Gregory, Jane, Samantha, Jeffery, Randy, Marlynn, Zachary and Jessea; her two sisters: Sadie (Jim) Humber of Norris Point and Christine (Gerald) Thistle of Cow Head; her two brothers: Joe (Annie) of Cow Head and Willis (Elaine) of Brampton, Ontario. Also leaves to mourn a large circle of relatives and friends.
