A baker, a quilt and dress maker and a cook whose most anxious moments came when trying to decide what to make for supper that night. Our Nanny and Mom was one of the best examples of a Christian-humble, non-judgmental, gracefully accepting, and kind to all. Her home was a wonderful place to be, whether it was in Bonne Bay where she and Leslie raised their children, or Deer Lake where they had to move in their later years together. Her family is thankful to all the kind caregivers at Corner Brook LTCC. Flora passed away as she lived her life-quietly and peacefully. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her children John Caines, of Brampton, ON, Rhoda (Gerald) Andrews, of Corner Brook, NL, Sharon (Frank) Compton, of Deer Lake, NL, Colin (Joelene) Caines, Wanda (Ken) Lusk, and Dulcie Benoit all of Brampton, ON, her 16 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, her sisters Ada Wight, of Deer Lake, NL, Gladys Williams, of Brampton, ON and Ida (James) Burden, of Bonne Bay, son-in-law James Young and sister-in-law Ruby Goosney, NL, also leaving to mourn a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives, extended family and friends.
