ANDERSON Rodney "Rod" Hanford, late of North
Saanich, passed away suddenly on July 18, 2002 doing
what he loved. Born February 28, 1952, he leaves to cherish his memory,
his loving family; partner and wife, Ethel of 25 years; his mother,
Marjorie of Burgeo, Newfoundland; his constant
companion, Dock boy; four sisters, Joan and Jean Anderson, Linda
(Dave) Pink and their daughter, Samantha and Sandy (Chris) Webb
and their daughters, Emily and Kelsey, as well as numerous other
relatives and many dear friends. Predeceased by his father, Hanford.
We will miss Rod for his contagious energy for life that he bestowed
on us all. Whether he was running, boating, flying, scuba diving
or taking a peaceful walk, he was full of lifeand love. Rod's
profession was knowing the human body and mind and sharing this
knowledge with all that he touched. In whatever he pursued, his
ultimate goal was to live life at this moment and to the fullest.
You have been taken from us in the middle of the conversation
and you, as always, will have the last word. A memorial service
will be held on Friday, July 26, 2002 at 3:00 pm at First Memorial
Funeral Chapel, 4725 Falaise Drive . Reception to follow. In
lieu of flowers, donations gratefully accepted to the charity
of one's choice.

NURSE, Josephine Patricia, born on March 20, 1917 in St.
John's, Newfoundland, passed away on August
4, 2002.
Predeceased by her sister, Kitty and by her brother, Patrick.
She is survived by her sisters, Mary and Sheila; children, Pat,
John, Peggy, Barry and Joanne; grandchildren, Lauren, Tim, Erin,
John, Rene and Amanda. Also many nieces and nephews across Canada.
A funeral service will be held at Sequoia Gardens Memorial, 4665
Falaise Drive on Wednesday, August 7, at 3:00 p.m. Cremation
will follow at the Royal Oak Crematorium.

O'NEILL
It is with great sadness we announce
the passing of Michael Ralphael O'Neill November 23,
2002 at the age of 75 years. He was born May 5, 1927
in St. John's, NFLD. He is survived by his
loving wife of 55 years, Emily Pearl O'Neill; his children: Wayne,
Jim (Glenda), Gary (Donna); Carol (Mike), Lynda (Dan), Robert,
Anna (Norm); his sister Elizabeth Moorcroft; 16 grandchildren
and 16 great grandchildren. A Celebration of Michael's life will
take place in the Sands Funeral Chapel, 1803 Quadra Street,
Victoria, B.C. on Friday, November 29, 2002 at 1:00 p.m. Following
the Service refreshments will follow in the Sands Arbor Reception
Centre. Cremation entrusted to Hatley Memorial Gardens. Flowers
gratefully declined. Donations in Michael's memory may be made
to the BC Heart and Stroke Foundation, #1-947 Fort Street, Victoria,

1925 - 2002.
Born July 30, 1925. Passed
away suddenly on November 26, 2002. Predeceased by his
wife, Gwendolyn. Lovingly remembered by his children, Stephen (Carolyn),
Barbara (Richard) Sager and Thomas; grandchildren, Michael, Matthew
and Stephen. He will be sadly missed by family and many dear friends.
Born in Newfoundland, settled in Victoria as
a young adult, and worked for many years at Yarrows Shipyard until
his retirement. No service at Frank's request. Private family gathering
at a later date. Donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
