BARNES, Mary Ellen (nee Batson)

Peacefully on Sunday, September 21, 2003 at
King City Lodge Nursing Home, in her 95th year. Mary, beloved wife of the late
Ernest Barnes. Loving mother to Bonnie and her husband Josef Kargeradov and
predeceased by her daughter Shirley Grainger (Lloyd). Cherished Nana to Leslie,
Gordon, Peter and Sandra and five great grandchildren. Friends may call at
the R.S. Kane Funeral Home, 6150 Yonge Street (at Goulding, south of Steeles)
on Wednesday, from 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be celebrated at St. Patrick's
Anglican Church (1087 Lillian St.) on Thursday, September 25, 2003 at 11 o'clock.
Interment to follow at Highland Memory Gardens. As an expression of sympathy,
donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of York Region or King City
Lodge - Resident's Council Region.

Passed peacefully away in the presence of his family, on Sunday, February 9, 2003 at the age of 85. Francis (formerly of Conception Harbour, Newfoundland) leaves behind his loving wife Alice, eight children and their spouses, twelve grandchildren, his brother Wilf Doyle and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 2035 Weston Rd. (north of Lawrence Ave.), Weston from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday. Mass to be held at St. Jude's Catholic Church, 3265 Weston Rd. on Friday morning at 11 o'clock, with cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. May he rest in peace

Passed away on September 19, 2003 at Tyndall Nursing Home
(Mississauga), at the age of 87. Dear wife of the late Gerald (1987). Devoted
mother of Kevin, Theresa Gallant, and the late Francis (1976). Gammy of eight.
Great-grandmother of one. Sister of Philomena Power and Emily O'Reilly, both
of Newfoundland. Friends may call at the Scott Funeral Home "Brampton Chapel",
289 Main St. N., Brampton (905-451-1100) on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Leonard's Roman Catholic
Church (187 Conestoga Drive, Brampton) on Monday, September 22, 2003 at 10
a.m. Cremation to follow.

Passed peacefully away at the Kingston General Hospital, Kingston, Ontario, on Friday, February 28, 2003. Aileen (nee James), age 89, formerly of Bell Island, Nfld. Predeceased by her loving husband Owen Kelly, who passed away on October 24, 1952. Left to mourn are her loving and devoted children: daughters, Iris Donohoe (Mike), Long Island, N.Y., Nellie Kennedy (Bill), St. Catharines, Ont., Trish Dwyer (Bill), Kingston, Ont., Rose McCabe (Peter deceased, Vic Soares), Windsor, Ont., and Peggy (fiancée, Gord Close), Moncton N.B.; sons, Ed (Sandy), St. John's Nfld, Mike (Marie), Gander, Nfld., Jim (Brenda), Surrey, B.C., John, Toronto, Ont., Owen (Vivian), Orleans, Ont., Joe, St. Catharines, Ont.; sister, Ann Trahey (Philadelphia U.S.); twenty-six grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Joan James, St. John's Nfld., Catherine Wade, Kitchener, Ont., Gladys James, Georgetown, Nfld., Betty (Yetman) Kelly; numerous nieces and nephews, plus a large circle of relatives and friends throughout Canada and the U.S. Predeceased by her parents, Edmund and Alice James; sisters, Mary Walsh, Sadie Sullivan and Rose Long; brothers Tom and Jim James. A Liturgy of the Word Service was held on Saturday March 1, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Township Chapel, Gordon F. Tompkins Funeral Homes, 435 Davis Dr. (Kingston, Ontario). Funeral Mass and burial of urn will take place July 2003 on Bell Island, Nfld. Born February 14, 1926 in his cherished Newfoundland. Passed away Monday, February 24, 2003 at home. Loving husband of Phyllis for 50 years. Loving father of Linda and Brenda. Loving grandfather of Danielle, Kyle, Remy, Amy, Haley and Kelly. Dear brother of Margaret. His generosity and loving nature will be dearly missed by all of his friends and family both here and in Newfoundland. Visitation on Wednesday, February 26 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the "SCARBOROUGH CHAPEL" of McDougall & Brown, 2900 Kingston Rd. (just east of St. Clair Ave. E.). Funeral service in the chapel on Thursday, February 27 at 2 p.m. Interment at Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society.
As they all come to greet him in the shade of the old oak tree and again he'll touch the green, green grass of home.
