CHAMBERLAIN Jean
Vancouver Province October 12, 2008 (Sunday)

Born July 17, 1923 in Newfoundland, passed away peacefully October 8, 2008 in Langley. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Barbara Barry; granddaughter Annette Waterman (Scott Thompson); dogs Coco and Olivia and many other family members and friends here and in Alberta and Newfoundland. Graveside service will be held Tuesday, October 14 at 11:00 a.m. at Victory Memorial Park, 2977 King George Highway, Surrey. GIBBONS, Bernice
Vancouver Province May 12, 2008 (Monday)
"Bernice"
Born July 20, 1942 in Ramea, Newfoundland. Passed away on May 7, 2008 in St. Mary's Hospital, Sechelt. Survived and will be dearly missed by her loving husband Al "Gibby" and her precious pet Angel. Also survived and missed by her parents Gordon and Vivian Kendall, brother Leonard (Rowena), sister Yvonne (John), all of Newfoundland, and many nieces and nephews. Remembered dearly by her extended family and also by many friends. She was loved and will be missed by many. She has touched many hearts and her wonderful sense of humour, laughter, and smile will be missed by all. Bernice worked for Chevron Canada for 35 years. The family would like to thank Dr. L. M. Vickers of Vancouver and Dr. J. Bishop of Sechelt for their exceptional care and kindness. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your local SPCA. A Memorial Service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 24, 2008 at Burquitlam Funeral Home, 625 North Road, Coquitlam, BC.

JULY 6, 1924 - OCTOBER 8, 2008

It is with much sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our dear father, grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle. Harris was born in Coley's Point, Newfoundland. He was predeceased by his wife Josephine (Jo) of 55 years, seven siblings and son-in-law Jack Seltenrich. He is lovingly remembered by daughters; Shirley Hall, Lorraine Harvey (Rene), Suzanne Kidd (Jim), and sons; Jim Bowering (Sue), Joe Bowering (Nella), thirteen grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law, Ann Daley, Jean Bowering and Francis Bowering, cousins and numerous extended family. Harris will be cherished for his unfailing devotion to his family. We would like to thank his wonderful neighbors at Sandstone for their kindness and compassion. Prayers will be held at Immaculate Conception Church, 839 Sutherland Ave., Kelowna at 7:30 pm on Sunday, October 26, 2008. Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church on Monday, October 27th, 2008 at 10:00 am with Father Peter Tompkins officiating. Following interment at Kelowna Memorial Cemetery, there will be a reception in the church hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, #4 - 1551 Sutherland Ave., Kelowna, BC, V1Y 9M9. Arrangements in care of Everden Rust Funeral Services, 250-860-6440.

HODGE Angela "Ange"
The Province (Vancouver) April 22, 2008 (Tuesday)

51, New Westminster, passed away suddenly Wednesday April 16, 2008 at home. Born in Lord's Cove, NL she was a daughter of Louisa Hodge and the late Thomas Hodge. Memorial service will be held 2:00pm Wednesday, April 23rd at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #2, 631 Sixth Street, New Westminster. Funeral to be held in Lord's Cove, NL at a later date.


JOY, John Matthew
December, 1959 - November 14, 2008 [with photo]

Dedicated Father and companion, John returned to the Lord on November 14, 2008. He passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side. John was born on December 12, 1959 in Stephenville, Newfoundland. He is survived by his friend and partner, Christina Samms; his three daughters, Kayla, Jessica and Serena; son Matthew; grandsons Horatio and Nova. His bright smile and jovial sprit will be missed by his many relatives and friends. Viewing, Rosary Service will be Wednesday, November 19, 2008 - 7:00 PM with the Funeral Mass on Thursday, November 20, 2008 - 11:00 AM both held at Sts Joachim & Ann Church, 2827 273rd Street, Aldergrove. In lieu of flowers or cards, a tax deductible donation may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.


KEECH Leah
Vancouver Province November 14, 2008 (Friday)

Born in Newfoundland. Passed away October 29, 2008, age 92. Survived by daughter Brenda Allen; brothers Bob and Fred Perry; grandchildren Rob O'Sullivan, Karen Gatto (nee O'Sullivan) and husband Michael, Rick Tisdale and wife Ingrid, predeceased by Tim Tisdale; great-grandchildren Cory and Dustin Tisdale, Vicki and Kyle Tisdale and Romano Gatto. Service November 18th at 2:30 pm, St. Vincent Langara Hospital, 255 West 62nd Ave., Vancouver.


VINCENT, Clyde Leslie
Vancouver Province October 5, 2008 (Sunday)

Born May 19, 1922 in Cape Island, Newfoundland, passed away September 26, 2008 in Burnaby, BC. He will be sadly missed but remembered with love and affection by his wife Ella, children Bev (Jim), Sharon (Steve), Douglas (Sharon), Les (Charlotte), grandchildren Tanya, Nicole (Matthew), Emily, Kristen and Michelle, great-grandchildren Matthew, Zachary, Natalie and William. He is also survived by his sister Sophie Williams and many nieces and nephews in Newfoundland. No service by request. We wish to express our heartfelt appreciation to the staff at St. Michael's Hospice for their brief but very compassionate care.
