Hickey, Barbara (nee Hanlon)
Passed suddenly away the General Hospital on Thursday, September 16th, 1971, in her 71st year, Mrs. Barbara Hickey, widow of the late Michael Hickey, 15 Sudbury Street. Leaving to mourn two brothers, Denis Hanlon at Portugal Cove, Michael Hanlon in Boston; two sisters, Nellie Whalen at Boston, Ann Hynes in Ontario.

Jones, George
Passed away at the General Hospital on Saturday, September 11th, 1971, George Jones of St. Phillips, age 81 years. Leaving to mourn three daughters, Bernice (Mrs. Norman Clarke), Cupids, C.B., Phyllis (Mrs. Wm. Pitts), in Ontario, Gwendolyn (Mrs. Joseph Harvey), Portugal Cove; one son Alex, St Phillips; also two sisters, two brothers, 22 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Resting at the Carnell Memorial Chapel, Freshwater Road. Funeral from the Anglican Church, St. Phillips at 2:30 pm., today, Monday.

Walsh, Captain Denis Patrick
Passed peacefully away at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital on Tuesday, September 7, 1971 Captain Denis Patrick Walsh of 9 Renews Street, St. John's, formerly of Merasheen, P.B., age 70 years. (Merchant Navy, Second World War Veteran). Leaving to mourn besides his wife Mary, three daughters, Stella (Mrs. Michael Power) of Trepassey, Nancy (Mrs. Joseph Sutera) of Brockton, USA, Rosemary at home; three sons, Captain John B. Walsh, Canadian Air Force, Ottawa; Rev. Denis P. Walsh, parish priest at Marystown; Ernest at home; 17 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Stella Best of Placentia and Annie (Mrs. Joseph Neary), Portugal Cove, St. John's East; also a large number of relatives and friends. Remains, resting at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Funeral Mass at Corpus Christi Church, Kilbride, Thursday at 10:30 a.m.. Interment at Kilbride Cemetery.
