BICKFORD, Eneas - Passed peacefully away on Monday, October 26, 1998 at the Grace General Hospital, St. John's, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving family, Eneas Bickford of Kelligrews, age 65 years. Predeceased by his daughter Sherry, his parents Samuel and Katie Bickford and his sister Ethel. BUGDEN, Meta - Passed peacefully away at Lakeside Homes, Gander, on Sunday, October 25th, 1998, Meta Bugden, in her 94th year. Predeceased by husband Cyril in 1975. Left with precious memories are daughters: Doris Ash, Vacaville, California, Elizabeth Burt (Neville), Gander; son Lloyd (Mary), Topsail; 8 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. CRONIN, Darrell Gerard - Died tragically as the result of a helicopter crash in Marsoui, Quebec while in the line of duty and doing something he loved so dearly - Saving lives. Master Corporal Darrell Gerard Cronin of Kelligrews, aged 32. Stationed at 413 Squadron in Greenwood, NS. Leaving to mourn his loving wife and best friend, whom he dearly loved, Melinda; his precious son Christopher Gerard, age 8; and his darling little girl Tanisha Marie, age 3; his loving parents, Frank and Helen Cronin, Kelligrews; sister Denise (Paul Forsyth); nephew Coel at Kenora, ON; brother Keith (Darlene); nephew Kyle, Bishops Cove; and brother Curtis at Kelligrews; also mother and father-in-law Joe and Cindy Cambridge, Sydney, NS; brother-in-law George and family, Petawawa, ON; and his fellow crew members at 413 Squadron in Greenwood, NS and 103 Wing, Gander; also a large circle of other relatives and friends. DELANEY, Edward James - Passed peacefully at his home after a lengthy illness Edward James Delaney, age 75 years. He was a member of the L.O.L. No. 181 for 58 years. He was also a Past Perceptor and Honourary Member of Beaumont Hamel No. 966, Foxtrap. Leaving to mourn his loving wife Ruby of 55 years. Nine children: Jim (Mona), George (Judy), Robert (Brenda), David (Yvonne), Betty Taylor (Reg), John (Marilyn), Boyd (Eleanor), Winnie Glavine (Ron), Christine French (Marc); 29 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren. Two sisters: Mary Emma Greenslade (Fred) and Eliza Taylor. One brother-in-law Stewart Rideout (Edith). DICKS, Ronald Maxwell - Passed away peacefully in Wellesley Hospital, Toronto, Ont. during the early hours of the 25th of October, 1998, at 84 years. Born on Bell Island, Nfld., moved to St. John's in 1966 and resided in Manuels since 1973. A Veteran of WWII, he served with the 166th Royal Newfoundland Field Regiment, Royal Artillery from April 1940 to 1945. Leaving to mourn his wife Eileen; son Keith of Toronto, Ont.; brothers: Eric (Evelyn) and Cecil (Lillian) of Georgetown, Ont.; sisters-in-law: Florence at Fairhaven and Lan at Georgetown, Ont.; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins who reside in Newfoundland, Ontario, Alberta and British Columbia. A Memorial Service for family members in Ontario will be held at St. George's Anglican Church, Georgetown at 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 27, 1998. Resting at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road. MORGAN, George - The death of Mr. George Morgan of West Field, New Brunswick, husband of Gladys (Chipman) Morgan occurred on Wednesday, October 7, 1998 at the St. John Regional Hospital. Born in Manuels, Newfoundland, George was the son of the late George and Hannah (Squires) Morgan. Mr. Morgan was a resident of Manuels, Newfoundland most of his life and resided in West Field for the past five years. Mr. Morgan was a taxi driver by profession. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch Number 50. Besides his wife, George is survived by two sons: Leonard (Wynn Ann) of St. John's; Bruce (Sharon), Seal Cove, Newfoundland); one daughter, Mrs. Judy (David) Sheaves of West Field; one brother Harold, Paradise, Newfoundland; two sisters: Lillian Pearcey, St. John's, Newfoundland and Rebecca Parrott, Winterton, Newfoundland; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers William, Clarence and Herman. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, St. John, New Brunswick (506)643-7424, with visiting on Thursday, 2-4 and 7 -9 p.m. Mr. Morgan will rest at The James J. Passed peacefully away, after a courageous battle with cancer, at his residence on Friday, October 2, 1998 in the presence of his loving family and friends, John V. Peters of Mount Pearl, formerly of Bell Island, aged 53 years. Predeceased by his mother, Elizabeth, on June 23, 1997.
