Boyd, Patricia (Theresa) Lorraine (nee Feehan)
Funeral Services for Patricia (Theresa) Lorraine Boyd will be held Tuesday, November 10th, 1998, 2 pm at the Yale Church of Christ with burial at the Lawson Cemetery North of Yale. Dr. Randy Willingham will officiate. Serving at pallbearers will be Terry Sneed, Robby Moser, Lance Purcell, Jim Martin, Josh Fuchs, Kevin Eberhart and Patrick Gipe; Honorary Pallbearers will include Everett Massey, Terry Pope, Patrick Feehan, Harry Decker and John Sullivan. Funeral Services will be under the Direction of The Yale-Palmer Funeral Home. The casket will not be opened at the Funeral Services. Friends may call at the Funeral Home until 12 noon Tuesday. Theresa was born on August 30th, 1945 in St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada to John and Anne Feehan. Theresa has lived in the United States since her marriage many years ago to her husband, LaVern. She became a naturalized citizen of the United States in May, 1982. The heartbeat of Theresa was the house that was ultimately called The “Theresa's House”, not a house where Theresa was to live, but a home which would shelter countless young women who needed someone desperately to care. Theresa was a woman who was known by the good that she did for others. She was benevolent and kind. She was loved and cherished by those that knew her, so much so, that they wanted to name this lasting mission after her. The caring spirit that Theresa exhibits will hopefully linger in Theresa's House, and will inspire those that work with the women who live in it. Theresa has been a member of the Yale Church of Christ for the past 20 years. Theresa was strong and faithful to her family, her friends and the Lord. Theresa had been struggling with cancer ten years before her home going. Her attitude, in the face of adversity, was positive and upbeat. Truly these are the words echoed by those that labored with her, she was special and rare….knowing her was a gift to be treasured. So, Theresa's House will be opened, and like the woman whose name it bears, it will serve and stand strong. It will minister to the needy, withstand the adversity of the world, and bring glory to our God who blesses it. Theresa was preceded in death by her parents, John and Anne Feehan, one brother, Edmond Feehan. She is survived by her husband, Loyal LaVern Boyd of the home; sons; Michael Boyd of Yale, Jody Boyd and wife, Ginger of Yale, OK.; brothers; Patrick Feehan and wife Maureen, Gerard Feehan, John Feehan, all of St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada; sisters; Bernice Sullivan and husband John, Mary Decker and husband Harry, all of Mount Pearl, Newfoundland, Canada, Pauline Loftis and husband, John of Yale, OK.; two special aunts and an uncle; Alice Decker, husband Cecil and Theresa Paquette, all of St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada; 5 nieces, 8 nephews, 5 grand-nieces, 3 grand-nephews; other relatives and friends. The family asks that those wishing to make donations may do so the Theresa House in Care of the Church of Christ, 822 East Detroit, Yale, Oklahoma, 740085.
