Conway, John Joseph
Passed peacefully away on May 18th, 1976, John Joseph Conway, plastering contractor, in his 68th year. Leaving to mourn his loving wife Rose; 11 sons; Gus, Charles, Fred, Jerome, Noel, Justin, Francis, Jerry and Andrew of St. John's; Denis at Kelligrews and Leonard at Brampton, Ontario; four daughters; Anna (Mrs. Isaac Gosse) at Torbay; Rosemary (Mrs. K. McClosky) at New York; Margaret (Mrs. H. Merrill) at New York and Helen at home; three brothers; eight sisters; 18 grandchildren and a large circle of friends and other relatives. Resting at Carnell Memorial Chapel, Freshwater Road. Funeral on Friday, May 21, at 9:30 a.m. to Mary Queen of Peace Church. Interment in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

Lucas, Thomas James
Passed peacefully away at the General Hospital on Sunday, May 9th, 1976, after a long illness, Thomas James Lucas, in his 72nd year. Leaving to mourn his wife, Gladys; six sons; John at North Sydney, Arthur, St. John’s, Ernest, Thomas, David of St. John’s, Llewellyn at Toronto; three daughters, Gladys (Mrs. Derm Powell), Lillian (Mrs. Les Strickland), St. John’s, Joan (Mrs. George Bustin), Texas; three brothers, Jim, Jack and Fred; four sisters; Lillian, Edith, Hilda and Joan; 32 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren and a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home. Funeral on Thursday at 2 pm from Barrett’s Funeral Home, Hamilton Avenue.
