Leaving to mourn her daughter Betty Ann and son-in-law James Streeter of Toronto and two grandchildren, Jane and Paul. One sister Irene Rabbitts in Brigus. Resting at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road. Visitation will be held from 2 p.m.-4 p.m. on Sunday, June 7, 1998. Funeral service will be held on Monday, June 8, 1998 at 2 p.m. in the Carnell Memorial Chapel. Interment to follow in Mount Pleasant Cemetery. No flowers by request. Predeceased by her father Garfield Hollett, 1984 and brother Chesley Hollett, 1992. Leaving to mourn her loving husband Winston; three daughters: Tina (Brad), Edmonton, Kim (Bill), Edmonton and Jenine at home; two grandchildren: Bradley and Melanie; her mother Alice Hollett; two brothers: Freeman (Sheila), Lambert (Alvina); three sisters: Beatrice Butler (Hubert), Mary Paul (Jerome), Maude Temple (Jack); also other relatives and friends. Passed peacefully away at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital, in the presence of his loving family, after a lengthy illness, Lloyd Churchill, aged 78 years, member of 166th Royal Artillery Regiment. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories wife Ruth; son Gary; daughters; Lynn and Robin; sisters; Ethel (Bob) Penney, St. John's; Violet (Bud) Parsons, St. John's; Selina (George) Handley, Toronto; Margaret Scott, Truro, NS and other relatives and friends; also, special, devoted pet “Sophie”. At Lloyd's request cremation has taken place. Family will be receiving visitors at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road from 7-9 pm., Wednesday, June 3, 1998. Funeral Service will take place from the Carnell Memorial Chapel on Thursday, June 4, 1998 at 9 am., with interment to follow in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Field of Honor. No flowers by request. Passed peacefully away on June 14, 1998 at the Palliative Care Unit, St. Clare's Mercy Hospital, in the presence of this loving family, Stanley Churchill, age 69, of Portugal Cove. Leaving to mourn his devoted wife Helen (Nellie); daughter Barbara (Ernie Mercer); and son Freeman (Helena); also four precious grandchildren; Brittany, Ashley, Cody and Nicholas; one sister Evelyn McCarthy; two brothers; Clar (Betty), and Norm (Ella); special sister-in-law Effie Churchill; sisters-in-law; Emma Hammond and Mildred Allen; brother-in-law John Allen (Betty) of Keswick, Ontario and George Allen (June) of Portugal Cove; also a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Cooper, Reverend Joseph N.
Of Main Brook. Passed peacefully away in Main Brook on June 21, 1998, in his 80th year. Predeceased by daughter Kathryn in 1984. Leaving to mourn wife Annie (Heath); sons; Nath (Linda) and Rex (Lillian); brother Thomas (Gladys); grandchildren; Lori, Mark, Kelly and Duke; great-grandchildren; Kaleb and Jenna; and many other close relatives and friends. The Funeral Service took place at 2 pm on June 23rd, 1998 from St. Paul's Anglican Church in Main Brook, officiated by the Reverend Ross Rumbolt, the Most Reverend Stewart Payne, the Reverend Robert Edler, the Reverend Arthur Churchill, the Reverend Canon Glen Small, the Reverend Trudy Sullivan and the Reverend John McGonigle. Organist and soloist was Mrs. Marion Burke. His remains rested at the church with interment following the service, in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the K.M. Fillatre Funeral Home, Roddickton, Wilfred Hutchings, Funeral Director.

DAWE, Barbara Florence - of Kelligrews. Passed away peacefully at the Health Sciences Centre on Friday, June 26, 1998, age 50 years. Predeceased by her father Cecil Cluney. Leaving to mourn her loving and devoted husband of 29 years Sidney; two daughters: Judy Dawe and Sarah Jennings (Douglas); one son Harold and one grandson Ashton; also her mother Violet Cluney; two sisters: Bernice Lidstone (Duncan), Janet Rideout (Roger); one brother Nicholas Cluney (Moira); also a large circle of other relatives and friends. GRIMM, Emily Blanche - Passed peacefully away in the loving arms of her children, at West Palm Beach, Florida, in her 63rd year, on June 2nd, 1998. Daughter of the late Samuel and Mabel (Williams) of Tack's Beach, Placenta Bay and St. John's. Predeceased by brother Raymond. Leaving to mourn two daughters: Renee Boehme (Doug), West Palm Beach and Susan Haas (Jonathan), Maryland; one darling granddaughter Rachel; three sisters: Irene Cunningham (Ian), Brantford, Ont.; Mary Chafe (Arthur), St. John's; Bertha Beck, Ottawa; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Special aunt, Maude Brown and cousin Marie. Cremation has taken place. Interment will take place in Ohio on Monday, June 8th.

Hancock, Robyn
(Aged 19 years)---Left this world on Saturday, June 27th, 1998, having celebrated every day to the fullest, holding her memory forever are her parents Derrick (Dick) and Carla; brother Stefan; sister Erin; grandparents; Katherine and Allan Hancock; grandmother Ruth O'Keefe; great aunt Teresa Meaney; special aunt Marilyn and all her aunts, uncles and cousins. Robyn had many wonderful friends especially Jeff, Melissa, Mike, Burkey, Julie, Jennifer and Susie Hicks. She will be lovingly remembered by Dr. D. Vaze and the staff of 2A Janeway Child Health Care Centre. Robyn will be resting at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm Sunday and Monday. Born in Bell Island, Nfld., she was a daughter of the late Ambrose and Blanche (Churchill) Brown. She worked with the Salvation Army and Even Tide Nursing Home, Cambridge, Ont. for 10 years. Surviving are daughters: Patricia (Pat) (Mrs. Thomas Rose), Prospect, Blanche (Mrs. Maurice Emsley), Point Claire, Que.; brothers: Jack, Frank, Bell Island, Ambrose, Michael, Brantford, Ont.; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband William B.; son Michael in infancy; sisters: Marie, Anastasia (Stacia), Sheila; brothers: Herbert, Frederick, Ronald. O'Leary, Denis Patrick Andrew (Andy)
57, passed away June 4, 1998 in Louisbourg, N.S.. Born in Portugal Cove South, Newfoundland. Predeceased by his parents Matthew and Bridget (St. Croix) O'Leary and his brothers Terrance and John. Andy was a retired Royal Bank manager who worked in Placentia, Nfld, Windsor and Mulgrave, N.S.. An avid fisherman, as well as a member of the Mulgrave Kinsmen Club and St. Paul's Parish, Havre Boucher. He is survived by his companion Mary Pelrine, Havre Boucher; sons; Sean (Jeannie), Andrew (Tanya) and Daniel (Angela) as well as grandchildren; Candace. Akayla, Jenna, Justin, and twins Sheena and Shelby, all of Halifax. Also leaving to mourn sister Catherine Harding (John Moret), St. John's, Nfld; and brothers; Edmund (Von), Dermot (Jean) and Matthew (Lorraine), all of Toronto, as well as numerous other relatives and friends. A Memorial Service was held Sunday, June 7, 1998 at St. Paul's Church, Havre Boucher. Memorial donations may be made to St. Paul's Church Building Fund. At his request Andy was cremated and his ashes are to be scattered in the ocean.

O'LEARY, Frederick F. - Formerly of Bell Island, Newfoundland and long time employee of A.G. Simpson. Passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 6, 1998 at the University Hospital, London, Ontario at the age of 57. Predeceased by his parents, Margaret and Charles O'Leary, his infant son, Fred Jr. and his grandson, Blake Murphy. Beloved husband of Alice (nee Dwyer). Devoted father of Ellie (Mike Ralph), Molly (Peter Murphy), Terry, Dean and Cindy. Loving grandfather of Brent Murphy, Angie and Danny Gear. Fred (affectionately called Foot) is survived by his brothers: Charlie, Bill and Walt; and his sisters: Liz, Lil, Laura, Sandra, Rosalind, Cynthia and Sharon. Fred will be dearly missed by his numerous nieces, nephews and many friends. Friends will be received at Little's Funeral Home, 223 Main Street East, Cambridge (519-623-1290) on Monday from 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Parish Rosary will be recited on Tuesday evening at 8:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at St. Patrick's Church, 53 Wellington Street, Cambridge on Wednesday, June 10, 1998 at 9:30 a.m. with Father Robert Dunn officiating. PORTER, Mr. Raymond - Passed away at Salina Regional Health Center at age 74. Resident of Salina, KS since 1970. Born June 12, 1923; Died June 9, 1998. Born in Manuels, Newfoundland, Canada. Mr. Porter had worked for J.S. Frank Construction Company for 25 years and was a construction superintendent. He had come to the Salina Area to help in the construction of U.S.A.F. missile silos. He was a member of the Christ Cathedral Episcopal Church, Salina. He was a mason. Survived by his spouse, Annie Porter, of the home; two sons: Stephen Porter, Derby, Geoffrey Porter, Salina; daughter Helen Lancaster, Long Beach, Ca.; brother Edward Porter, Manuels, Newfoundland, Canada; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. Funeral 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 12, 1998 at the Christ Cathedral Episcopal Church, Salina with the Rev. B.E. LeBarron officiating. Burial in the Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina. Left to mourn six children Jim (Leslie), Orangeville, Ontario; Con (Shirley), Mississauga, Ontario; Doreen Snelgrove, St. John's; Theresa (Kevin Shea), Cambridge, Ontario; Bernadette Kennedy, St. John's; and Margaret (Gerald Purcell), Ontario; sister-in-law Agnes Kent; sons-in-law, Fred Snelgrove and Clayton Kennedy; 15 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; The Power family; as well as a large circle of relatives and friends. THERIAULT, Irene (nee Hunt) - Passed peacefully away, after a courageous battle with cancer, on June 29, 1998 at Colchester Regional Hospital, Nova Scotia, at age 58. Predeceased by mother Marguerite; father Peter; sister Bernice. Predeceased by her husband Walter Sr. 1984, two brothers Clifford and Angus. Left with fond and loving memories are seven children: Angus (family), Vancouver, Patricia (Gary Nugent), Cynthia (Peter Jardine) Rita (Gordon Walsh), Walter (Betty), Joan (Pat Whiffen), Labrador City, John (Brenda), Labrador City; eighteen grandchildren and four precious great-grandchildren.
