Conway, William
Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre on Wednesday, June 25th, 1997, age 62 years. Predeceased by his mother Mary Margaret, May 21st, 1997. Leaving to mourn his children; Richard, Edward and Deborah Conway; grandchildren; step-son Keith Halliday (Ronda); and also other relatives and friends. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road from 7 pm Thursday. Funeral Mass on Saturday, June 28th, 1997 at 9:30 am from St. Joseph’s Church, Quidi Vidi Road. Interment at Mount Carmel Cemetery.

Elliott, Orville D.
Aged 54 years. Passed peacefully away at his home on Thursday, June 26th, 1997. Predeceased by his father Raymond 1952. Leaving to mourn his mother Olive (Elliott) Boone; one sister, Rae and husband Dr. M. Naqvi of Sydney, Nova Scotia; one nephew, Steven Naqvi of Ottawa and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins. Private Funeral and visitation at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue. Interment at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. No flowers by request, donations in his memory may be made to Gower Street United Church or a charity of one’s choice.

MacInnis, Michael F.
(Uncle Frankie)---Veteran World War 11, Private 1st Class, Army F37503. Passed peacefully away at the Grace General Hospital on Saturday, June 7th, 1997, age 70 years. Predeceased by son Michael. Leaving to mourn, nephews; Danny MacInnis (Audrey), St. John’s. Alex MacInnis, Calgary, Ken MacInnis (Cathy), St. John’s, Mike MacInnis (Diane), Montreal; nieces; Rose Williams (Glynn), Bauline, Peggy MacInnis (Billy), Calgary, Patsy Elliott (Don), Ottawa; son John MacInnis, Boston; sister-in-law Anne Jackson; nephew Billy Paige, Boston; and 12 great-nieces and nephews; also a large circle of friends. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home. Funeral on Wednesday, June 11th, 1997 at St. Joseph’s Church for Mass at 9:30 am. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

STANLEY, Allan S. - Passed away suddenly but peacefully in the presence of his loving family, June 5, 1997 at the Health Sciences Center, Allan Stanley, aged 40 years. Predeceased by his parents Harry and Mildred in 1994. Leaving to mourn his wife Thora; precious and loving son Bradley; three sisters: Eva (Gerald) Chafe; Mary Lou (Keith) Smith and Tammy (mike); five brothers: Carlson (Yvonne); Tolson (Bride); John; Scott (Marie); and Andy: mother and father-in-law Cynthia and Melvin Squires; aunts Marie Noseworthy anf Myrtle Alyward; many nieces and nephews; special friends Fred Porter and John Keary. Resing at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road. Visitation will take place on Friday, June 6th from 7 p.m. - 10 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. - 10 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 8, 1997 at 3 p.m. from St. Paul's Church, Goulds. Burial in St. Matthew's Anglican Cemetery.

Whiffen, Mary M. (nee Hanlon)
Passed peacefully away at Placentia Hospital on June 23rd, 1997, age 49. Predeceased by her mother, Margaret Hanlon, 1993; and her father, James Hanlon, 1967. Leaving to mourn husband Gerald; son Jim (Diane); daughter Irene (Lindsay); special granddaughter Lindsay; two grandsons; Dylan and Nicholas; cousins; Jim and Bride Gambin, John and Betty Wadman; and a large circle of relatives and friends. Resting at Maher’s Funeral Home. Funeral to take place at Holy Rosary Parish, Freshwater, Wednesday, June 25th, 1997 at 1 pm.. Interment at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Freshwater
