Chapter. O'NEILL, Elizabeth, Betty (nee Kelly) - Cancer may have ravaged
her body but it didn't touch her spirit or her will. She slipped quietly from
this world at 8:12 p.m., Tuesday, February 2, 1999, at the
Health Sciences Centre. She stayed long enough to prepare us for her parting
and to fill us with her strength and courage so that we might handle her death
with as much dignity as she demonstrated in facing it. She is reunited with
her beloved son, Dougie. Left forever to mourn her absence is husband Douglas,
Bell Island; children: Edward (June), Beverly, Patricia, Rennie (Sonia), Christine,
Theresa (Dave), Mary (Keith), Michelle (Curtis), Goldie (Billy) and all her
grandchildren. She will be forever missed by sisters: Julia, Agnes, Mary, Jenny,
Katherine; brothers: Eugene and Ignatius, as well as other relatives and friends.
