Passed peacefully away at Interfaith Citizen's Home, Carbonear on Wednesday, August 4th, 1999, of Bay Roberts, aged 100 years. Predeceased by her husband Augustus in Sept. 1969; sisters; Lillian, Minnie, Mary, Bertha; and brother Jake. Mrs. Badcock was the mother of three sons; Augustus (Louise), Bay Roberts, Everett (Shirley), Bay Roberts, John (deceased); eight daughters; Pheobe (Ebenezer Gooose, deceased), St. John's, Lillian (Alex Noseworthy), St. John's, Mary (deceased ), Pearl (deceased), George Hayes, Mount Pearl, Nessie (Clarence Smith) (both deceased), Florida, Audrey (Hector Gulliver, deceased), St. John's, Stella (Roy Batten), Bareneed, Dorothy (Bill Casey), Florida. Also leaving to mourn sister Emily French (aged 98 years), Minnesota, USA: 50 grandchildren; 77 great-grandchildren; 26 great-great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-great-grandchildren; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Baker, Georgina (nee Cunningham-Marsh)
Passed peacefully away, surrounded by her loving family, at the Hoyles-Escasoni Complex on Wednesday, August 25, 1999, Georgina Baker, at the age of 71. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, daughters; Marjorie and Yvonne Coady (Mike); sons; Gary (Marie), Don (Norma), Cecil (Debbie), Bob (Mona) and Winston; 10 grandchildren; special family friends; LorraineVokey, Roseann Fillier, Barbie Prowse and Winnie Moran; also a number of other relatives and friends. BARNES, Patricia M. (nee Greenslade) - Passed peacefully away at the Palliative Care Unit of St. Clare's Hospital on Monday, August 9, 1999, Patricia M. Barnes (nee Greenslade) of Manuels, age 64 years. Predeceased by her father Reginald, mother Gladys and sister Jean. Left with a legacy of love and cherished memories are her husband Gerald; son David (Colleen), Ottawa; daughter Nancy, Kingston, Ontario; two loving granddaughters: Deirdre and Keely at Ottawa; mother-in-law Hilda Barnes, Garnish; sister-in-law Sarah (Sidney), Fortune; brother-in-law Jacob (Norma), Garnish; brother-in-law Samuel (Sharon), Grand Bank; brother-in-law: Walter Sheib, Ocean Side, U.S.A.; two nephews: Walter and Carl Sheib, Washington, D.C.; also special aunt and friend Bessie Kennedy; as well as a large circle other relatives and friends. Passed peacefully away at home in the presence of his loving family on Saturday, August 28th, 1999. Leaving to mourn his sad loss are his six children; Paul (Julie), Anita (Len McGean), Louise (Robert Clancey), Don (Judy), Pam (Jean-Luc Bry), Brenda (Doug Lynch); 16 grandchildren; Rob (Pam), Erin (Jeff), Adam Barrington, Len (Nadine), Darren (Lisa), Leah (Chris), Tracy (Brad) McGean, Krista (Hubbie Sinnott), Keith (Lisa) Clancey, Jessica and Taylor Barrington, Chris and David Bry, Steve, Mark and Allison Lynch; three great-grandchildren; Hayley and Sarah McGean, Kyle Morrell-Clancey; three sisters; Pauline (and special brother-in-law Ben Jackman), Marg Cooney and Julia White (Whitey); sister-in-law; Shirley Barrington; brother-in-law; Chuck Ludwig; and a large circle of relatives and friends. Predeceased by husband Cyril, 1986; daughter Beverly, 1968; and daughter-in-law Joan, 1997. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, two daughters: Frances (Ray Lee), Paradise, Gloria (Bill Lewis), Paradise; three sons: David, Seal Cove, Wilson, St. John's, Bill (Diane), Halifax; five grandchildren: Jason and Nicole Lewis, Cyril and Stephanie Clarke and Heather Davis; one sister Effie Patten, Traytown; and one brother Julius Morgan, St. John's; also a large number of relatives and friends. Passed peacefully away after a courageous battle with cancer at Scarborough General Hospital, Scarborough, Ontario, on Tuesday, August 10th, 1999, Gerald (Jerry) Cole in his 58th year. Predeceased by father Patrick Cole and mother Christine Tapper, sister Dorothy and loving grandparents Thomas and Anastasia Cole. Peacefully at Simcoe Manor, Beeton, Ontario on Saturday, August 28th, 1999, in his 82nd year. Loving husband of Edith (Hallett). Loved and respected father and father-in-law of Delores and Jim, Tom and  Joan, Edward and Sharon, Ellen and Stewart, Madge and Albert (deceased), as well as Bruce (deceased) and Roberta of St. John's, Newfoundland. Cherished grandfather of 16 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren in Newfoundland, Ontario and BC. Dear brother of Donald, Daniel, Joyce, Muriel, John and the late Geraldine and Mildred. Dick will be remembered by his family and friends as a well read, intelligent, hard working, kind and gentle man with a twinkle in his eye, who enjoyed music and family gatherings. DUFF, Alban Robert Anthony - At home surrounded by his family whom he dearly loved after a courageous five-month battle with cancer on Aug. 27, 1999, aged 60 years 11 months, devoted husband, father, grandfather and uncle, Alban Robert Anthony Duff. Left to celebrate his life are his loving wife and best friend Margaret, son Robert and wife Tamar, daughters Elizabeth and Colleen, his treasured grandchildren Justin Oliver, Samantha and Adam Duff, brothers Peter G. Duggan, Margaret Ellen Passed peacefully away at the Palliative Care Unit, Breyere Hospital, Ottawa, on Sunday, August 29, 1999, after a short, but courageous battle with cancer, Margaret Ellen Duggan, age 85 years. Predeceased by her sisters; Hannah Mary (Nance), Irene Olson and Rita Ditullio. Leaving to mourn sisters; Mary McCormick, Gertrude Renouf and Dorothy Sheppard; a number of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. At Margaret's request, she will be cremated and returned to Newfoundland for burial. The interment will take place at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Grand Falls-Windsor, Newfoundland on Wednesday, September 8th, 1999, following a Memorial Mass (11am) at the Immaculate Conception Cathedral. A special Mass will be held at St. Theresa's Church, Ottawa at a later date.**

Earles, Edward Aloysius (Dyke)
Passed peacefully away on August 20th, 1999, Edward Aloysius Earles in his 73rd year. Mr. Earles was a resident of Happy Valley-Goose Bay. Leaving  to mourn daughters; Edwina, Denise, Cathy, Carmella Mitchell (husband Wallace), Debra Martin (husband Maxwell). Also grandchildren; Cheryl Keats, Lisa Martin, Jennifer Mitchell, Catherine Mitchell, Amy Martin, Brian Mitchell, Ashley Martin and Eric Burry; brothers and sisters-in-law; Frank McDonald, Tommy McDonald, Jerry and Dora McDonald, Brendan and Jean McDonald, Mary Shapter, Isabel and Richard Morey, Margaret and Charlie Tucker, Helen and Pat Finn; nieces and nephews and a large circle of relatives and friends. Fr. Jack Davis conducted Funeral Service at Our Lady Queen of Peace, Happy Valley-Goose Bay on August 23rd, 1999, with interment at Roman Catholic Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were by C. Passed peacefully away at Carbonear General Hospital, Carbonear on Friday, August 20th, 1999, of Makinsons. Predeceased by 1st wife, Marcella (nee Mugford), 2nd wife Fannie (nee Gushue), son William, sisters Jessie and Naomi, and brothers George, William and Vernon. Stockwood, Annie Mildred (nee Morris)
Passed away peacefully at the Health Sciences Center in Winnipeg on the morning of August 11th, 1999. Annie was born in Lower Island Cove, Nfld, on February 24, 1920, where she spent her childhood. As a teen she moved to Montreal where she married George and raised their family. They retired in St. John's and Ottawa. Annie was predeceased in 1995 by her husband Allan George. She is survived by son Robert (Kathy) Stockwood of Winnipeg; daughter Judy (Norman) Robertson of Winnipeg and son Ronald (Ann) Stockwood of Ottawa; sisters; Carrie Tait of Antigonish, Minnie Clarke of St. John's, Marjorie MacDonald of Guelph and brother Harold Morris of Calgary. Nannie is lovingly remembered by her grandchildren; Stephen, Jessica, and Laura, and her many nieces and nephews. Annie enjoyed family life and relatives, and they were always welcome in her home. Many happy hours were spent at the cottage in Rawdon, Quebec and in Lower Island Cove where she enjoyed her passion for cards, conversation, and the company of family. Her greatest pride was her home and her ability to warmly welcome her guests. Annie's quiet generosity was warmly recognized by many churches and charities throughout her life. In her latter years, her grandchildren brought her great joy and happiness. Resting at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road.
