Fitzpatrick, Thomas Xavier
August 24, 1994

Passed away August 24, 1994 at home in Halifax, age 78. Born in St. John's, Newfoundland, he was the son of the late Thomas and Mary-Anne (Tapper) Fitzpatrick. He operated the family business in St. John's before retiring. He was an active member of St. Pius X Church in St. John's and an Honourary Member of the Knights of Columbus, Terra Nova Council. He volunteered with numerous organizations in St. John's over his lifetime but was expecially involved with the 1st St. John's Boy Scout Troup. In earlier years he was active in several sporting associations and in later years became a keen bridge player. He is survived by his wife, the former Rita Martin; a son Thomas Cochrane, Alberta; five daughters: Sheila Mader, Halifax, Maria Carter, Red Deer, Alberta, Judy Fitzpatrick, Edmonton, Alberta, Eileen Fitzpatrick, Yellowknife, N.W.T., and Rosemary Fitzpatrick, Northway, Toronto, Ontario; two sisters: Mrs. Dulcie Coleman, St. John's, Newfoundland and Mrs. Rita Barton, Three Rivers, Michigan. He is also survived by nine grandchildren. Visiting will be today, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Snow's Funeral Home, Windsor St. Funeral Mass will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady Of Perpetual Help Roman Catholic Church, Rockingham. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Memorial Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
