- Passed away at his home at 12 Boncloddy Street on August 8, Edward Breen, age 72 years. Leaving to morn his son, Gerald, daughter Nell [Mrs. O'Dea], Witless Bay. Two brothers, Patrick and Peter; one sister, Mrs. Ann Cole, Toronto, ON; ten grandchildren; one great grandson. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home. Funeral notice later. aug 9, 2i

Picco, Annie
Passed away at the General Hospital on Tuesday, August 14th, 1973, Annie, wife of James Picco of Portugal Cove, age 75 years. Leaving to mourn her husband, 2 daughters, Jane (Mrs. Lloyd Clarke), St. John's, Dorothy (Mrs. Reginald Gazeley) at Trenton, Ontario; one son William at Portugal Cove, one sister Mrs. Elizabeth St. Croix at Boston, Mass.; 17 grandchildren, one great-grandchild. Resting at the Carnell Memorial Chapel, Freshwater Road. Funeral from the Anglican Church, Portugal Cove at 2:30 pm on Thursday, August 16th, 1973.
