June 29, 1949 - Marches Point, NL
August 18, 2013 - Calgary, AB
Jayson Gyles LeRoux (Adolph Jr.)
of Calgary, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on Sunday, August 18, 2013 at the age of 64 years. Jayson was born on June 29, 1949 at Marches Point, Newfoundland. He spent his childhood years in St. Jude's (immediately west of Deer Lake) and after graduating from Xavier High School in Deer Lake, Jayson went to Memorial University in St. John's where he studied to become a teacher. He started his teaching career at St. Pius X High School in Baie Verte, NL where he had the "pleasure" of teaching one of his brothers and sister. Jayson was highly thought of by all those he taught at St. Pius X. He was known for having his students well prepared to achieve their academic goals. Jayson left Baie Verte in 1972 and spent several years in Toronto, before relocating to Western Canada where he started his career with the federal government. After several years in Edmonton, he moved to Vancouver and finally Victoria, BC. He really enjoyed living in Victoria where he met many friends who became and remained very dear to him. He loved being near the ocean and Victoria was ideal to satisfy that need. He worked in a management position for twenty one years until his retirement. After retirement he moved to Calgary to be near his brothers and sister. Jayson will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humour and friendship to all. He had an exceptional ability to make everyone he came in contact with feel comfortable. You could always depend on Jayson to make you laugh. If you ever wanted or needed a boost, just go visit Jayson and you would leave in an upbeat happy mood. It gave him great joy and pleasure to see people laughing and smiling. He had a heart of gold and was ever an optimist in spite of many challenges. We will miss him. Jayson's passion for interior decorating was second to none. Anyone visiting his home would leave with a "WOW" feeling. He could make "simple look fantastic". Jayson is survived by his father Adolph; sister Valda; and brothers, Tony, Rod, Bernard, Cal and Ted. He was predeceased by his mother Mary; grandparents Bridget and Charles LeRoux and Anthony and Lucy Meade.
