Leaving to mourn his wife Rosalind (Roz); three sons: Philip, Jimmy (Lillian) and Andrew; his mother Phyllis Badcock; one brother Peter Badcock, St. John's; mother-in-law Peg Ploughman, St. John's; also other relatives and friends. Resting at the James J. Hickey Memorial Funeral Home, Kelligrews. Visiting hours: 10-12 noon, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday and 10-12 noon Thursday. CHAFE, Barbara Ann (nee Webber) - Passed away suddenly at her residence on Saturday, April 18, 1998, Barbara A. Chafe  Predeceased by her loving husband Brian, August 7, 1986. DOYLE, Gregory John - (Korean War Veteran) Member of Ironworkers Local 721 for 40 years. Lived and worked in Toronto, Ontario until his early Retirement in 1990 where he returned to the land he loved so much NEWFOUNDLAND. Greg was also a 26 mile marathoner and was involved in the Terry Fox walks from Marysvale to Holyrood raising money for Cancer research. Passed peacefully away in the presence of his family, at the Pallative Care Unit, St. Clare's Mercy Hospital on Tuesday, April 7th, 1998 Gregory John Doyle, in his 64th year of Middle Arm, Avondale. Predeceased By his Father George Doyle, Sr , his mother Mary Doyle, his brothers James, Patrick and Edward. Left with fond and loving memories are his devoted Wife of 28 years Shirley Marie at Avondale, his son Glenn at Toronto, and his step-children Sandra Howard, Peter Howard (Holly) all at Kelligrews; his Seven step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren; his sisters Kay, Mary and Betty all in the United States and his sister Madeline at Middle Arm, Avondale; his brothers Chris in Toronto and George at Middle Arm, Avondale; also a large circle of family and friends. Resting at Dunphy's Funeral Home, Holyrood. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit, St. Clare's Mercy Hospital. At Greg's request, he will Be cremated after the 3:00 p.m. service at the Funeral Home on Thursday afternoon. His ashes will be carried to the place he loved the most, BALLAHACK And thrown to the wind. Giovannini, Harold
Passed peacefully away at Lakeside Homes, Gander on April 15th, 1998, Harold Giovannini, in his 83rd year. Left with loving memories are two brothers; Gordon, wife Rita, Holyrood, Humbert wife Cella, Rancontre East; also a large number of nieces,nephews, relatives and friends. GREEN, Amelia Ann - Passed peacefully away at her residence, in the presence of her loving family, on Wednesday, April 29, 1998, Amelia Ann Green. Aged 102 years. Predeceased by her husband Eleazer, 1964; and daughter-in-law Gertrude, 1995. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, three sons: Cluny (Ivy), John and Rev. Charles (Loretta); seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister Mabel Moores, Badgers Quay; also a number of other relatives and friends. HAYES, Margaret M. - Died peacefully at St. Patrick's Mercy Home April 30th, Margaret M. Hayes (Corbett) of St. John's, in her 92nd year. Predeceased by her husband Richard Hayes. She leaves to mourn son Richard, wife Christine Mousseau, Upper Gullies; granddaughters: Angelina and Adrienne Hayes; brothers: Terrence Corbett, wife Mary, Ronald Corbett, wife Pauline, and Francis Corbett, wife Marjorie; sisters-in-law: Pauline Corbett and Joan Dunphy; and brother-in-law Jim Walsh; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Childrens' Rehabilitation Centre or the Janeway Hospital. Passed peacefully away after a short illness on Wednesday, April 13, 1998 at the Health Sciences Centre, age 65. Predeceased by her sister Lillian Barrington and brother William. Leaving to mourn her sisters; Lorraine Miller and Eva Collins; brothers; Richard and Robert; sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, residents and staff of the Rose Butler Guest Home with whom she resided. Resting at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Rd., Thursday and Friday from 2-4 P.M. and 7-9 P.M.. Funeral will take place on Saturday at a time to be announced from the Carnell Memorial Chapel, with interment following in the Anglican Cemetery, Kenmount Road.

Hopkins, Marcus (Marc)
1917-1998

Well know retired Newfoundland Educator at Carbonear General Hospital on April 14th, 1998. Son of the late Allison and Elizabeth Hopkins of Heart's Content. Thankful for his life are Barbara, his loving wife of 55 years; daughter Ruth Pullin; sons; John (Sylvia); Tom (Diane), Dennis (Carmel), Gary (Esther): dear "Poppy" to Craig, Debbie, Jonathan, Jeffrey and Allison Hopkins, Andrew and Elizabeth Pullin: dear brother of Claire Pike, Ruth Harper (Bill); and brother-in-law of Dusty Miller. Predeceased by sister Rosemond Miller and son-in-law Bill Pullin. Visitation on Wednesday, April 13th, 2-6 P.M. and 7-9 P.M. at Green's Funeral Home. Winterton.

KENNEDY, Gerard - Passed peacefully away, in the presence of family, at the Health Sciences Center on Sunday, April 26th, 1998, Gerard J. Kennedy, in his 33rd year, of Hr. Main. Predeceased by his father Raymond Kennedy; brother Fabian Kennedy; and uncle Noel Kennedy. Thankful for his long life, though saddened by his passing are his two daughters: Joan (late Alex) Young and Glenna (Gordon) Breen; grandchildren: Neil (Pamela) Young; Heather Breen (Halifax); Gordon (Corinne) Breen; special cousin and friend Crosbie Lester.
