BREHM, Alice - Passed away at the General Hospital on Saturday, April 3, 1971, Alice, widow of Dr. R. Almon Brehm, aged 87. Leaving to mourn one son Robert A. at Timagami, Ontario; one sister Mrs. Margaret Eagan at Yakami, Washington; one brother, Ernest C. Carey at Montreal, niece Mrs. Edward Thompson at Falmouth, Mass. Resting at the Carnell Memorial Chapel, Freshwater Road. Private funeral from St.Thomas' Church at 11 a.m. today, Monday. Interment at the General Protestant Cemetery, Waterford Bridge Road. (No flowers by request).

COLBERT, Richard - Passed away at his son's residence, 23 Beaumont St., Richard Colbert, in his 91st year. Funeral on Tuesday morning from Caul's Funeral Home to St. Theresa's Church for Requiem Mass at 10 a.m. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

FOWLOW, George - Passed away suddenly on April 4, George Fowlow in his 76th year. Leaving to mourn besides his wife Agnes, one son Lance at St. Phillips. Three daughters, Ruby (Mrs. William Harris) at Montreal; Cynthia (Mrs. Herb Barnes) at Campbellton, N.B.; Barbara (Mrs. Stan Windsor) at Kingston, Ontario.Two brothers, Kie at B.C. and William at Trinity East. One sister, Mrs. John Brown at King's Cove. Also fifteen grandchildren. Resting at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Ave. Funeral services from the Anglican Cathedral, 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 7. Interment in the Anglican Cemetery, Forest Road.

HUNT, Elizabeth - Passed away at the General Hospital on Thursday evening April 1, Elizabeth Hunt aged 67 years. Leaving to mourn her husband James, three sons Aubrey, Joseph and David. Also two brothers. Remains were forwarded from the Carnell Memorial Chapel,Freshwater Road, to her late residence at Centerville, from where the funeral took place on Saturday at 2 p.m.

Mills - Passed away at the General Hospital on Thursday, April 1, Lewis P. Mills of the Goulds, aged 67 years. Leaving to mourn his wife Annie, two daughters, two sons and two sisters. Resting at the Carnell Memorial Chapel, Freshwater Road. Funeral took place from St. Kevin's Church, Goulds at 11 a.m. Sunday morning.

Nelder - Died suddenly April 2, John H. Nelder, barber, Upper Gullies (formerly of 158 Mundy Pond Rd.) aged 60 years. Leaving to mourn his loving wife Catherine; four sons, Gerald, John, Kevin and Randall; also three daughters Shirley (Mrs.John Ryan), Isobel (Mrs.William Oliver), Elizabeth (Mrs James Kane) also twenty-one grandchildren. Remains resting at Caul's Funeral Home.Funeral on Monday morning from Caul's Funeral Home to St Theresa's Church for Requiem Mass at 10 a.m. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

ROGERS - Passed peacefully away at St. Luke's Home Friday, April 2, 1971, Henry Rogers aged 88 years. Leaving to mourn one daughter and three sons. Also, a large number of relatives and friends. The remains went forward from the Carnell Memorial Chapel, Freshwater Road, to his late residence Creston for interment in the Anglican cemetery.

WHELAN - Passed peacefully away at the General Hospital, Francis Thomas Whalen, aged 24 years. Leaving to mourn his wife Elizabeth and one son Randy, Mother and Father (Mr.& Mrs. Stephen Whalen) one brother, Stephen,two sisters, Mrs. Derek Baggs and Sister Jean Whalen (Stephenville). Remains resting at Caul;s Funeral Home. Funeral will take place from Mary Queen of Peace at 11 o'clock Monday. (Note--No date listed--but was listed in The Daily News -April 5, 1971)
