Passed peacefully away at 6 p.m., on Oct. 22nd. 1941, Michael Bambrick, aged 76 years, a former Road Inspector; leaving to mourn, one sister in Canada, also a large circle of friends. Funeral on Friday to 2:30 p.m. for his late residence, 369 Water Street West. R.I.P.

Barnable, Leona Mary
Passed away on Thursday, Oct. 2nd. 1941, at 3:15 a.m., at the General Hospital, Leona Mary, aged 21 years, daughter of Anne the the late John Barnable; leaving to mourn: mother, three sisters & one brother. Funeral on Saturday at 2:30 p.m., from her late residence, 25 Barron Street.

Barnes, Jane
Passed peacefully away on Thursday, Oct. 16th. 1941, Jane, wife of the late Allan Barnes, aged 54 years; leaving to mourn one son, Cyril, & one sister Mrs. Joshua George of Heart's Content. Funeral at 4 p.m., today from Barrett's Mortuary Rooms.

Entered in to rest at his residence, Monkstown Road, this morning, Oct. 23rd, 1941, Sir John R. Bennett, K.B.E. Funeral on Saturday afternoon from the Mosonic Temple at 3 o'clock, to the C of E Cathedral.

Bishop, Sarah G.
Passed away today at 12:15 p.m., Oct. 16th, 1941, at her residence, 48 Pennywell Road, Sarah G., widow of the late Joseph Bishop: leaving one son, John, & 2 daughters, Mrs. Minnie G. Tucker, City, & Mrs. Major A. Brewer, London, Ontario. Funeral Notice Later.
Additional---The funeral of the late Sarah G. Bishop, will take place tomorrow, Saturday, at 2:30 p.m., by motor hearse from her late residence, 48 Penneywell Road.

Passed peacefully away on Monday, Oct 16th, 1941, at 7 p.m., Meda, aged 15 years, beloved daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Hezekiah Blondon: leaving father, mother, five sisters, five brothers, & a large circle of friends to mourn their sad loss. Bolger, Edward Arthur
On Oct. 17th, 1941, Edward Arthur, infant son of Arthur & Dorothy Bolger, Topsail Road.

Passed away at 9 o'clock this morning, Oct 16th, 1941, Charles Bourne, aged 74 years: leaving to mourn three brothers, three sisters & a large circle of friends. Funeral on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. from his late residence, 201 Hamilton Avenue.

Bransfield, William
Passed peacefully away on Oct. 18th, 1941, William Bransfield, aged 55 years; leaving to mourn wife, one son, four daughters & a large circle of friends. Funeral on Monday at 2:30 p.m. from his late residence, 16 Plymouth Road.

Burden, Elizabeth
Passed away at the Grace Hospital on Friday, Oct. 17th, 1941, Elizabeth, beloved wife of the late Hubert Burden; leaving to mourn their sad loss three sons; Gilbert, Harold & Jack; also two daughters, Mrs. Donald Parsons & Emma, at home. Funeral to take place from her late residence, 49 Field Street, on Sunday at 2:30 p.m.

Butler, Gwendoline
A bright and promising young life came to its earthly close on Tuesday, October 28th, 1941, when Gwendoline, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. James Butler, St. Clare Avenue, passed to Life Eternal after a lenghly illness. Gwendoline was born at Pouch Cove on November 24th, 1917. Several months ago she suffered from pleuriacy, but was making good progress, until recently an attack of influneza was more than her weakened physical condition could combat. During all the long period of her illness she maintained a cheerful spirit and accepted the long hours of monotonous illness with never a complaint. She leaves, besides her parents, two brothers and two sisters at home and two brothers serving overseas, one with the Royal Artillery and one in the Navy. The funeral ceremonies were conducted by Cannons Munden and Striling and the funeral arrangements were carried out by Carnell's Funeral Home. The many friends of Mr. & Mrs. Butler and the family will deeply sympathize with them in their distress.

Butler--At Topsail on September 11th. 1941, James Miller (Jimmie), darling child of John & Millie Butler, aged 7 years. Funeral took place at 2:30 P.M. today,
"They shall shine in their beauty, bright gems for His crown".

Campbell, Alexander Moatt
Passed peacefully away 10:45 p.m., Monday, Oct. 27th, 1941, Alexander Moatt Campbell, aged 53 years, son on the late William & Jane Campbell. He leaves to mourn wife, one son James, and one daughter Patricia. Funeral by motor hearse at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct 29th, from his late residence, 350 Water Street.

Canning, Alfred Edward
Passed peacefully away, 3:30 a.m., this morning, Oct 17th. 1941, at the General Hospital, Alfred Edward Canning, in his 65th. year; leaving to mourn his wife & one brother. Funeral will take place at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 19th, from his late residence, 25 Victoria Street.

Chafe, Mary
Passed peacefully away, after a short illness, at Petty Harbour, on Oct 23rd. 1941, Mary Chafe, aged 69 years; relict of the late Augustus Chafe; leaving to mourn their sad loss; six sons, 15 grandchildren, one brother at Petty Harbour, three brothers & one sister in U.S.A. Chauncey, Mrs. Phoebe
Passed peacefully away early this morning, Oct. 8th. 1941, Mrs. Phoebe Chauncey, widow of the late Charles T. Chauncey. Left to mourn are two sisters & one brother. Funeral on Friday from her brother's residence, Stephen Miller, Portugal Cove.

Clarke, John
Early this morning, John Clarke, Oct. 30th. 1941, in his 86th year; leaving wife, four daughters. three sons, two sisters, two brothers & eleven grandchildren. Funeral at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, from his late residence, 255 Hamilton Avenue.

Clarke, Mary
Passed peacefully away on Oct. 29th, 1941, Mary Clarke, darling wife of Patrick Clarke, who is now serving overseas with the Newfoundland Forestry Unit; leaving to mourn their sad loss husband, two daughters, one son, two brothers. Funeral at 2:30 p.m. on Friday from her late residence, 22 Casey Street.

Condon--Passed peacefully away on Thursday night of a tedious illness, Mary, dearly beloved daughter of William & Margaret Condon; leaving to mourn, her sorrowing parents and five sisters. Funeral on Sunday at 2"30 P.M. from her late residence 20 Bond Street.

Passed peacefully away last evening, after a short illness, Oct. 3rd. 1941, born with Christian Resignation to the Devine Will, Anne Joseph Cowley; beloved wife of James F. Cowley; leaving to mourn her husband, two sons, & one daughter; two brothers, four sisters and four grandchildren. Funeral tomorrow Sunday, at 2:30 p.m., from her late residence, 41 Merrymeeting Road. Deceased was the eldest daughter of the late Capt. James Burke of Brigus.

Green, Samuel
Passed peacefully away on Oct. 28th, 1941, at 7 p.m., Samuel Green in his 82nd year. He leaves to mourn his wife; on daughter (Mrs. Isaac Norris); two sons; Frederick & Alex, all of the city; also two sisters; Mrs. Samuel Tulk of Vancouver, B.C., & Mrs. Caroline Gill of Newtown; seven grandchildren & two great grandchildren. Passed peacefully away at 11 p.m. on Oct 3rd. 1941, Samuel Thomas Heale in his 67th year; leaving to mourn wife, four sons & one daughter, also two brothers, John ln Ferrisburg, VT, USA & James, Eastlake Farm, St. John's East. Accidentally killed somewhere in England on Oct. 1st. 1941, Gunner Walter Lacey. He leaves to mourn their sad loss, his mother, one brother, residing in Toronto & three sisters, two in New York & one in St. John's, Mrs. Laura Pynn.

Lee, Bessie
Passed peacefully away on Oct. 2nd, 1941, Bessie, aged 16 years; beloved daughter of Alexander & Marion Lee; leaving to mourn father, three brothers, of whom one is serving overseas, & three sisters. Funeral on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. from her late residence, Petty Harbour, South Side.

Legge, Charles
Passed peacefully away, this morning, Oct 9th, 1941, Charles Legge of Heart's Content's leaving to mourn wife, three brothers, Thomas, James & John. Funeral notice later.

Lundrigan, Irene----Passed peacefully away on Oct 25, 1941, Irene, beloved wife of Const. Kenneth Lundrigan, aged 35 years; leaving to mourn husband, four sons and one daughter, three sisters, one brother and a large circle of friends. Funeral took place from her residence, 6 Avalon Street, on October 27th, 1941 to the Church of England Cathedral.

Martin, Mary (nee Barton)
Passed peacefully away last evening, Oct 8th, 1941, Mary (Barton), beloved wife of Henry Martin; leaving to mourn their sad loss husband, three sons, one overseas with Forestry Unit, four daughters, three living in Montreal, one at home; also two brothers & one sister. Funeral tomorrow, Friday, at 2:30 p.m. from her late residence, 28 William Street.

McCarthy, John
On active service, John McCarthy, R.C.N. Sept. 19th, 1941, aged 19 years, son of Mr. & Mrs. J.J. McCarthy of Topsail, Conception Bay. He leaves to mourn five sisters & two brothers. R.I. P.

Passed peacefully away at Topsail, Oct. 25th. 1941, Diana, wife of the late Robert Miller, in her 87th year; leaving to mourn four daughters, Mrs. A.J. Way, Grand Falls, Mrs. Gordon Smith, Buchans, Mrs. R. Stronack, Boston & Mrs. W. Greenslade, Topsail. Funeral on Monday, at 2:30 p.m., at Topsail.

Moore, James
At Iceland, June 22nd., 1941, James Moore, aged 68. Torpedoed at sea: leaving three brothers and one sister. Body interred in Iceland. R.I.P.

Morris--Passed peacefully away on Friday, September 12th, 1941, Olivia, widow of the late Samuel Morris, aged 76 years: leaving to mourn two daughters; one son, one sister and six brothers. Funeral on Sunday at 3 P.M. from her late residence 30 Field Street.

Passed peacefully away at 5 o'clock this morning, Oct. 29th. 1941, at her late residence, 64 Brazil Square, Mary, aged 79 years, relict of the late James Murphy; leaving to mourn seven sons, three daughters & one sister. Funeral notice later.

Noseworthy----Passed peacefully away on September 11th, 1941 at 9:15 A.M., after a short illness, Harriett Noseworthy, wife of the late Thomas Noseworthy. Killed in motor accident, somewhere in England, Walter Kitchener Pike, beloved son of George & Louise Pike; leaving to mourn wife, four brothers, John with R.A.F., somewhere in England, George, Roy & Frank, at home, & three sisters; Grace, Jean & Nan.

Passed peacefully away yesterday, after a short illness, Oct 1st. 1941, Thomas Spurrell, aged 74 years; leaving wife, two sons at home, one daughter, Mrs. M. Passed peacefully away on Wednesday, Oct. 22nd. 1941, at his home in Manuels, Arnold Tobin; leaving to mourn wife, two sons & four daughters.

Tucker, Ambrose
Passed peacefully away at Burnt Point on Oct. 10th. 1941, after a long & painful illness, Ambrose Tucker, aged 77 years; leaving to mourn wife, two sons, one at home & one residing in Sydney; two daughters, one at Bay de Verde & one at St. John's; one step-son & one step-daughter. Suddenly, at 6 p.m., on Tuesday Oct 14th. 1941, Capt. Henry W. Winsor, son of the late Peter & Katherine Winsor of this city. Leaving to mourn are wife; two daughters, Mary & Patricia; also one son, Harry, in the Royal Artillery overseas, one brother Peter, at home & three sisters in America. Funeral to take place on Thursday at 2:30 p.m. from his late residence, 26 Water Street West.
