Chris, Rhonda(Glynn) and big brother Joshua, joyously welcone the safe arrival of their precious baby girl, Emily Jane, born October 13, 1999, weighing 7 lbs. 6 ozs. Sharing the joy are proud grandparents Mary and Robert Glynn, and Betty and Tom Abbott.

Barrington / Crane
Patrick and Paula (Crane) are delighted to announce the arrival of their precious baby girl, Kaleigh Marie, on October 28, 1999, weighing 5 lbs. 8 oz. Proud grandparents are Charlie and Carmel Crane and Shirley Barrington of St. John's.  Special thanks to Dr. Heidi Kravitz and Dr. Mabel Greene and all the wonderful staff at the Grace Hospital.  Mommy and Kaleigh would like to send hugs and kisses to Daddy for all his love and support.

Burgess/Power
Judy, Jim and Ashley of Topsail Pond would like to announce the arrival of their son and brother, Ben Anthony, who was born at the Grace General Hospital on October 19, 1999, weighing 9 lbs, 4½ ozs. Proud grandparents are Ben and Betty Power, Admiral's Beach, St. Mary's Bay and Roy and Frankie Burgess, Topsail Pond. Special thanks to the doctors and nurses of the Grace for all their help.

Burke/Cull
Tracey and Paul are pleased to announce the early and safe arrival of their first child, Charlotte Elizabeth, at 6:27 a.m. on October 17, 1999. She tipped the scales at a healthy 7 lbs, 3 ozs. Charlotte is the first grandchild of Margie Burke and Carolyn and George Cull. We wish to thank our family and friends for all their help and support. Our gratutude also goes to the nurses, students, and Dr's, of the Grace Hospital. Special thanks to Dr. Hatcher, Dr. Kravitz and Dr. Roche.

Butler / Batten
Arriving fashionably late to  Marvin and Juanita (nee Batten) a beautiful baby girl, Lauren Alexandria.  Lauren was born on October 14, 1999 at 4:35 p.m., weighing a hefty 8 lbs. 2.7 ozs. and measuring 19.5 inches.  Ecstatic first-time grandparents are Bill and Donna Batte n, of Foxtrap, and sixth time grandparent Gertie Butler of Seal Cove.  Lauren is lovingly named after Poppy Butler (Alexander), who is watching her from heaven.  Equally thrilled great grandparents are Bill and Mercedes Soper, Upper Gullies; and  Bill and Florence Batten  of Foxtrap.  Many thanks to Dr. and friend, Jacqueline Verge, for her prenatal care; nurse Barb Healey,  (with whom Lauren shares a birthday); and all the nurses and student nurses on the second floor, Grace Hospital.  Hugs and kisses to Daddy for his constant love and support to Mommy and Lauren.

Chafe / Hiscock
Lori and Phillip are proud to announce the safe and earlier arrival of Heather Lynn. Born at 1:50 p.m., Friday, October 22, 1999 at East Alabama Medical Center, Opelika, Alabam. She is big sister Emily's newest "doll".  Weighing in at 6 lbs. 4 oz, and 19 inches long. Heather is the fourth grandchild for both Baden and Genevieve Hiscock, and Douglas and Shirley Chafe.  She will visit the Island in the spring, when she returns for her christening.

Cook / Dunphy
Steve and Cheryl (Dunphy) are pleased to announce the arrival of their first son, Dennis Patrick, on October 18, 1999 at 11:37 a.m. He came into the world at a whopping 10 lbs 1¼ ozs. Proud grandparents are Patrick and Helen Dunphy of Kilbride and Arthur and Marie Cook of Mount Pearl and great-grandmother Jenny Cook of St. John's. We would like to thank Dr. Watson and Dr. Kravitz for their pre-natal care and safe delivery. Also special thanks to Hospital, second and fourth floors, especially Nurse Margaret Crocker for her encouragement and support.

Curran/Gulliver
Paul and Susan (Gulliver) along with big sisters Kimberly and Victoria are delighted to announce the birth of Nicholas James Michael on October 9, 1999 at 7:52 p.m., weighing 7 lbs, 6¾ ozs. Sharing in the joy are proud grandparents James and Mary Gulliver and Margaret and the late Michael Curran, all of St. John's. Special thanks to the staff at the Grace Hospital.

Dalton / Hynes
Fred and Kay are proud to announce the arrival of their daughter, Emily Anne, born October 18, 1999, weighing 7 lbs. 4 oz. Proud grandparents are John and Myrtle Hynes and Ronald and Genevieve Dalton.

Bruce and Jackie (nee Day) are proud to announce the birth of their first child, Grace Marie, born October 13, 1999, weighing 9 lbs, 11½ oz. Dean / Rowe
Tom, Joanne (Rowe), Maria and Allison are very proud to announce the arrival of Stephen Thomas, on October 21, 1999, weighing 8 lbs. 14 oz..  Also welcoming Stephen are grandparents Don and Peggy Rowe of Kelligrews and Arthur and Corinne Dean of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.  Thank you to Dr. Verge, Dr. Bannister, and staff of the Grace Hospital.  Finally, Daddy has someone to watch football with him.

Paul, Marie (nee Legge) and big sister Stephanie are thrilled to announce the arrival of Aaron James on October 31, 1999 at 11:24 p.m., weighing 6 lbs, ½ oz.  Proud grandparents are George and Grace Legge, Dave and Penney Dowden, and Kathleen Nissen.  Special thanks to Dr. Elias Bartellas and the second and fourth floor doctors and nurses at the Grace.  A Happy Halloween it was.

Dunne / Lindsay
Shelly Dunne and Michael Lindsay are thrilled to announce the birth of their daughter, Erica Margaret, on October 31, 1999 at Woman's College Hospital, Toronto, weighing 8 lbs. 6 oz..  Erica is the first grandchild for Eric and Mary Dunne,, St. John's and David and Bonnie Lindsey, Toronto.

Fitzgerald / Husk
Kevin and Renee (nee Husk) are delighted to announce the arrival of their son, Tyler Kevin, born October 9, 1999, weighing 8 lbs. 2 ozs. Tyler is welcomed by his grandparents Herb and Patricia Husk and Wayne and Barbara Fitzgerald. Many thanks to Dr. Lacelle and Nurse Karen Murray. Tyler would like to thank Daddy, Nanny Barb, Nanny Patsy and Poppy Flip for their wonderful coaching to Mommy.

Earl and Brenda are proud to announce the arrival of their beautiful daughter, Hannah Georgina. Hannah was born at the Grace Hospital on October 14, 1999 at 5:28 p.m., she weighed 6 lbs, 3 ozs. Special thanks to Dr. Jardine, Dr. Verge, Dr. Wally, the medical and nursing staff for a safe delivery.

Goodridge/Murphy

Rob and Joanne are thrilled to announce the early and safe arrival of Rebecca Catherine, 7 lbs. 6 ozs, on October 14, 1999.  A beautiful baby sister for doggie Gilmour (This is what is listed--it may mean Dougie Gilmour--but not sure).  Proud grandparents are Bob and Barbara Hopkins and Bob and Jenny Dunn.  Special thanks to Dr.'s, Tennent, Kravitz, Pugh and the wonderful nursing staff at the Grace for their kindness joining our extended stay.

Husk / Murphy
Paul, Louise (nee Murphy) and big brother Jack are proud to announce the arrival of Kyle Gerard on October 7, 1999, weighing 8 lbs. 6½ oz.  Proud grandmother is Marguerite Murphy.  Special thanks to Dr. Few and Dr. Bartellas.

Kirby/Skinner
"What a special Thanksgiving gift!" Benjamin is thrilled with the safe arrival of his baby brother, Shawn Clyde, who was born at the Grace General Hospital, St. John's, on Monday, October 11, 1999, at 4:55 p.m., weighing 8 lbs. 2.7 ozs. Overjoyed parents are Cindy (nee Skinner) and Keith Kirby, St. John's. Proud grandparents are Rita and Clyde Skinner, Port aux Basques; Sadie Kirby, St. John's, Guardian Angel Grandpa Fraser Kirby, watching from heaven; and great-grandmother Mary Ann Skinner, Port aux Basques. Trevor Lawlor and Susan Jones are pleased to announce the birth of their beautiful little girl.  Brooke Alexandra Lawlor was born at the Grace General Hospital on October 23, 1999 at 9:52 p.m., weighing 7 pounds 3.5 ounces.  Very proud grandparents are Gerald and Patsy Lawlor of St. Thomas, Doug Jones of St. Phillips and Bev. Walsh (Bob) of Mount Pearl. Brooke would like to thank Mom for being so brave through it all, Dad for being such a wonderful coach, and cousin Renée Lawlor for her support and for being there for Mom.

Lewis/Lewis
Rodney and Sandra (Lewis) are pleased to announce the arrival of their first child, Cassidy Marie, born October 11, 1999 at the Grace General Hospital, weighing 9 lbs, 7 ozs. Proud grandmothers are Madeline Lewis of Holyrood and Elizabeth Lewis of Conception Harbour. Special thanks to Dr. Bartellas, Dr. Sun, Dr. Pike's team and the second and fourth floor nurses. Manzig/Winsor
Walter and Debbie are happy to announce the arrival of their son, Erik Logan, on October 8, 1999, weighing in at 7 lbs. at Metropolitan Hospital in Windsor, Ont. Grandparents Sandra and Ted Manzig and Harold and Pat Winsor are looking forward to spoiling Erik, while his eight cousins look forward to playing with him. Gary Murphy and Kim Thistle Murphy are thrilled to announce the birth of their first child, a son, Robin Phillip, born October 27, 1999 at 10:55 a.m., weighing 7 pounds 12 one half ounces.  Robin is the first grandchild for Ches and Tess Thistle of Tors Cove (formerly of St. John's) and sixth grandchild for Madeline and the late Philip Murphy of Avondale.  Special thanks to Dr.'s Kravitz and Barrick, second and fourth floor nurses, especially student nurse Bev., for their care.  Thank you Drs. Ripley and Kravitz for excellent prenatal care.  Coaches Daddy and "Aunt" Shannon Bennett were terrific!

Nugent/English
Born to Terry and Rhonda (nee English), October 16, 1999 at 12:52 p.m., a beautiful baby girl, weighing 7 lbs. 4¾ ozs. Proud grandparents Dennis and Eileen English, Topsail, Tony and Ursula Nugent, Kelligrews. Mommy, Daddy and Melanie would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. E. Bannister, Dr. Roche, nurses and staff at the Grace Hospital.

Peyton/Keilly

Sorensen/Short
Dr. Kent Sorensen, his wife Debbie and daughter Rachel are proud and excited to announce the safe arrival of their son, Aksel Gabriel Sorensen. Born at the S.A. Grace General Hospital on October 7, 1999 at 1:42 a.m.. Proud and adoring grandparents Axel and Kay Sorensen of Torbay, and Stan and Particia Short of Placentia, are thrilled to welcome this 8 lb. 4.9 ozs, little treasure into their lives. Darrell and Mary (Gellately) are proud to announce the arrival of Colin's little brother, Nathan John, who was born on October 17,  1999, at 10:51 a.m., weighing 9 lbs. 13 oz..  Sharing in our joy are proud grandparents Gladys and Warren Tucker, Carbonear, Josephine and Steve Gellately, Placentia Junction and great-grandnan, Priscilla Sparks, Sibley's Cove. A sister for Molly and Luke. Proud grandparents Hollis and Thelma Oates, St. John's, and Jack Traverse, Baie Verte.

Vey / Avery
Darren and Nadine (Avery) are pleased to announce the arrival of their beautiful baby girl. Rachel Alice Grace was born October 6, 1999 at 8:01 p.m., weighing 7 lbs, 9¼ ozs. Proud grandparents are James and Alice Avery, Hatchet Cove and George and Margaret Vey, St. John's. Thanks to Drs. Kravitz and Pike, caseroom nurse Ruth and other nursing staff on the 2nd and 4th floors. Thank you to Nanny Avery and Aunt Vanessa for relieving Daddy when he needed a break.

Tonya Vokey and Bradley Young of Aurora, Ontario are thrilled to announce the arrival of their first child, Thomas Carter, born on October 14, 1999, weighing in at 8 lbs, 4 ozs. Proud grandparents are Dr. Barry and Carole Young of Mississauga, Ontario and Dr. Myrle and Marilyn Vokey of St. John's.

Kevin, Wanda and big brother Kevin are thrilled to announce the early and safe arrival of a precious baby boy. Kyle Andrew, born on October 23, 1999, weighing 6 lbs. 12 oz..  Proud grandparents are John and Josephine Whelan and Patricia Hawkins, also great-grandmother Maggie O'Brien.  Watching over him are his two guardian angels, Poppy Hayes and Poppy Hawkins.  Thanks to Dr.A. It's a girl! Steven and Shelley(nee Chafe) are proud to announce the safe arrival of their precious little miracle, Kearstin Leigh, born October 16, 1999 at 2 a.m., weighing 8 lbs. 7¼ ozs. A special little angel for first time grandparents Alt and Marg Chafe and fourth time grandparents Ed and Ruby Williams. Daddy would like to tell Mommy that he is proud of her for her strength and courage. Mommy would like to thank Daddy for helping to bring Kearstin into the world. A special thank you to the nurses and doctors of the 2nd and 4th floors Grace Hospital.

Williams / Janes
Jordan is proud to announce the safe arrival of his little brother, Kyle Joseph who was born at the Grace General Hospital on Saturday, October 16, 1999 at 5:19 a.m., weighing in at a healthy 7 lbz 11.7 ozs. Parents Karen (nee Janes) and Geoff. Kyle is the fifth grandchild of Joe and Joan Janes of Bauline and a fourth for Charlie and Violet Williams of St. John's. Sincere appreciation is extended to Drs. P. Horwood and C. Pike for excellent prenatal care, as well as to Dr. B. Singh and Nurse Kathy Adams for their outstanding care and coaching during labour and delivery. Last, but not least, we thank God for giving us such a perfect little pumpkin just in time for Halloween.
