ALLEN– Don and Anne (Duffett), along with big sister Rebecca, are delighted to announce the safe arrival of their second child, Nicholas James, born October 30, 2006 at 8:48 a.m., weighing 9 lbs., 8 oz. Proud grandparents are Robert and Carrie Duffett of St. Phillip’s and Marie Allen of Topsail Pond with Poppy (Warrick) Allen looking down from Heaven. Special thanks to Dr. O’Grady, Dr. Kennedy and all the other doctors and nurses on the third and fifth floors of the Heath Sciences Centre for their extraordinary care and kindness.

BALDWIN – Blair and Linda (nee Hawco) are thrilled to announce the birth of their beautiful baby girl, Brooklyn Ella. Brooklyn was born on October 23, 2006 at Royal Victoria Hospital, Barrie, ON, weighing 8 lbs., 11 oz. She is the first granddaughter for Gus and Ellen Hawco, Holyrood and Gary Baldwin, Victoria. Also welcoming Brooklyn is her canine brother Samson and cousins Joshua, Aiden and Nathan Reeves and Reiley Baldwin. Watching over Brooklyn from heaven is Nanny Carol Baldwin. Mommy and Brooklyn would like to thank Daddy for all his love and support during the pregnancy and labour.

BARRY – Shannon finally has her little baby sister! Tom and Ann Marie (nee Coombs) are so delighted to announce the safe arrival of their second precious child, Laura Rose Barry. Laura was born on October 16th, 2006 at 8:28 a.m. at the Women's Health Centre, weighing 9 lbs., 7 oz. Proud grandparents are Tom and Theresa Coombs and Peter and Angela Barry. Also excited about Laura's arrival are a great family of aunts, uncles, cousins - especially Laura and Shannon's special cousin and buddy, Thomas Coombs. Our special thanks to Dr. Bartellas for your kindness and professional care. We also wish to acknowledge the great care and compassion Mommy and Laura received from the other doctors, nurses, student nurses and staff at the Health Sciences Centre. Shannon would especially like to thank her Nanny, her aunts and uncles, her cousin Jennifer and Miss Liz for taking such good care of her while Mommy and Daddy were away. Mommy, Laura and Shannon thank Daddy for being so good to them all. You surely are the best!

BASSLER/NEWMAN – Heidi Bassler Newman & Todd Newman, of West Newbury, MA, along with big brother Adam Gerhard Newman, are overjoyed with the arrival in Boston of Anna Tonya Newman, weighing 7 lbs. 1 oz. on October 11, 2006. Delighted grandparents are Tonya & Gerhard Bassler & Leila Deurrell & Elliot Newman.

BENNETT – Brian and Lisa (Quigley), along with proud big brother Connor are tickled pink to announce the safe arrival of their beautiful baby girl, Maria Grace at 8:41 a.m. on Saturday, October 7, 2006, weighing 8 lbs. 14 oz. Maria is welcomed by many family and friends, including grandparents Mary and Edward Bennett, Elsie Quigley and very special guardian angel, Pop (Ted) Quigley watching over us all from above. Heartfelt thank you to Doctors Stringer, Tennent and Kravitz for their wonderful prenatal care. A special thank you to all the staff of the WHC, especially Sue, and all the nurses on 5NB and the case room nurses Lorna and Ramona. BROPHY - Rod and Tammie Brophy of Surrey, BC, are thrilled to announce the birth of their 1st child Evan James Roland Brophy. He was born Oct. 22, 2006 at the Richmond Hospital, BC, weighing 7 lbs., 13 oz. Grandparents Roland and Joan Regular and Jim Brophy, all of Topsail, happily welcome their grandson.

BUTLER - Michael, Tanya and big sister Erin, are thrilled to introduce the newest member of their family, Abbey Quinn, arriving at 7:28 p.m. on Monday, October 9, 2006, at the WHC, St. John’s, weighing 9 lb., 4 ozs. Abbey waited an extra week to give her family a special Thanksgiving Day treat. She is welcomed lovingly by friends and family, especially grandparents, Linda Kavanagh (Brian Murphy) and Jim Kavanagh (Sandy Hickey) of St. John’s, and Bill and Karen Butler of Deer Lake. Thanks to Dr. Johanne Lacelle for prenatal care and speedy delivery.

BUTLER - Another angel from God above. Another girl for us to love. Randy and Renee (nee Rideout) are thrilled to announce the birth of their second daughter, Mackenzie Claire, born on October 21, 2006, at 11:42 a.m., weighing 8 lbs. 11 ozs. Mackenzie is welcomed by her big sister Madison. Also, proud grandparents are Walt and Elsie Rideout and Reg and Mary Butler. Thanks to Dr. Sam and nurse Lorna in the case room as well as the great staff on 5NB. And, of course, special thanks to Daddy for all his love and support for Madison and Mommy all the way through!

CAINES - Gord Caines and Lisa Moores are delighted to announce the birth of their beautiful daughter, Amelie Sahara. Amelie was born October 29th, 2006 (Mom's birthday!) at Burnaby Hospital, Burnaby, B.C. weighing 8 lbs., 2 oz and 22 inches long. Proud first time grandparents Bill and Nora Moores and Gord and Anita Caines. Eagerly awaiting Amelie's Christmas visit are aunts Kayla Moores and Stacey Caines and uncle Geoff Caines. Welcome to the world sweet baby girl!

CLEARY– Nolan, along with his parents Neil & Janna (nee Moores), are pleased to announce the arrival of his baby brother, Ewan William Norman. Ewan arrived on October 16, 2006 at 2:38 AM, at the Women’s Health Centre in St. John’s, weighing 7 lbs., 4 oz. Ewan is lovingly welcomed by Grandparents David & Norma Moores of Hr. COLBERT - Proud parents Andrew & Novalee are thrilled to announce the arrival of DECLAN THOMAS on October 18, 2006, at 6:18 p.m. at the Womens Health Centre after many long & anxious hrs. Brandon, Kyle & Kalista welcomed their precious little brother who tipped the scales at 9 lbs., 7 ozs. COUSINS – Craig and Patricia (Mulrooney) are delighted to announce the happy and healthy arrival of their daughter, Erin Maria, on October 22, 2006 at 1:18 a.m., weighing 7 lbs. 7 ozs. Her proud grandparents are Patrick and Sheila Mulrooney (Southern Harbour), Frank Cousins and special friend Hazel (Bay Roberts), and Viola Mercer (South River). Great-Grandma Bridget Mercer (Bay Roberts) is tickled pink! Thanks to Drs. Joanne MacIntyre and Atamjit Gill for Mom’s excellent prenatal care, Dr. Sam Collins and Nurse Krista from the Women’s Health Centre, and the nurses of 5NB. A special thanks with hugs and kisses to Aunt Cis for her help during Mommy’s pregnancy and Erin’s first few days at home.

DICKS – IT’S A BOY! Scott and Brenda and big brother Jordan are thrilled to announce the arrival of Evan Grant. Evan was born at the Women’s Health Care Centre on October 25, 2006, at 1:42 p.m., weighing 8 lbs. 8 ozs. Proud grandparents Lloyd and Rosalind Dicks, Les and Pat Parsons and great-grandmother Hazel Spurrell. Special thanks to Dr. Johanne Lacelle, case room nurses Ruth and Charlene and the nursing staff of 5NB.

DYER– Craig, Debbie (nee Mason), and big sisters Emily and Laura are thrilled to announce the birth of their son and brother, Colin Leonard, on Thursday, October 25, 2006, at 6:20 a.m. Colin weighed 9 lbs. 1 ounce and measured 23.5 inches long. Proud grandparents are Jean and Fred Mason, Shirley and Leo Green, and Jim Dyer. Our heartfelt thanks go to the many nurses and doctors in the case room of the Women’s Health Centre and of 5 North B for the care shown to us and for bringing “our little man” safely into the world.

EATON – Geoff and Karen (nee Strangemore) are delighted to announce the arrival of their beautiful baby girl, Adia Christine, born October 6, 2006 weighing 7 lbs., 11 oz. First grandchild for Monte and Christine Strangemore and second grandchild for Susan Sparkes and Fraser and Irene Eaton.

ETCHEGARY – Victoria (Hynes) and Bud (Leo) along with big brother Jack and big sister Gemma are thrilled that their baby brother arrived on Oct. 15th, 2006. Ted Alexander weighed in at 10 lbs., 8.5 oz. Ted is the fifth grandchild for Leo and Imelda Etchegary and the 20th for Patrick and Frances (deceased) Hynes. Special thanks to caseroom nurse Heather and Dr. O'Grady for helping to bring Ted safely into the world.

FAGAN – Jason and Pamela (nee Gibbons) are thrilled to announce the birth of their beautiful baby girl, Isabelle Mary Margaret, born on October 29, 2006 at the WHC. Arriving 3 weeks early, Isabelle weighed in at 6 lbs. 13 oz., and measured 18 inches. Welcoming her are proud grandparents Walter and Margaret Gibbons, Mary Fagan and all of our family and friends. Watching over little Isabelle from heaven is Poppy Frank. Thank you to Dr. Kravitz, Kennedy, nurses Shannan and Margaret Ann for the safe delivery of our beautiful baby girl.

FIELD / ROCHE – Further developments in the Nation's Capital! Gabrielle and Julianne are proud to announce the safe arrival of their baby brother. Declan Paul was born weighing 9 lbs. 3 ozs. at 8:46 a.m. on October 19, 2006 at the Queensway-Carlton Hospital in Ottawa, Ontario. Mommy and Daddy (Deanne and Paul) are also excited about the newest member of our family. Proud grandparents are Mary and Alex Field and Mary Roche, all in Outer Cove. Poppy Richard Roche sends hugs and kisses from heaven. Many thanks to the staff of the Birthing and Mom & Baby Units, and an extra, extra big thank you to Drs. Farrell and Fong.

FLEMING/WILLIAMS – Gerry, Lori and big brother Will would like to announce the long awaited, safe arrival of Adam Gabriel. Adam was born on October 11, 2006, weighing 10 lbs., 7 oz. GARLAND – Keith and Jennifer (nee Parsons) are thrilled to announce the early but safe arrival of their precious baby girl, Katelyn Joan, born October 30, 2006 at 5:33 p.m. at the Health Sciences Centre, weighing 6 lbs. 12 oz. and 18¼ inches long. She is welcomed with lots of love from her proud grandparents, Reid and Liz Garland of Mount Pearl, and first time grandparents Roger and Joan Parsons of Grand Falls-Windsor. Also sharing in our happiness is Aunt Amy, Aunt Patti, Uncle Chris, cousins Taylor and Ryan and furry friends Clinger, Sophie and Jack. Mommy and Katelyn would like to send special thank you and deepest appreciation to Dr. Gill, Dr. Lacelle, the staff at 5NB and the case room, and especially to the best Daddy in the world for his continued love and support and for taking such wonderful care of both of us throughout the pregnancy and during the delivery. We love you so much!

GRANDY - The newest Leafs' fan has arrived! Steve and Jennifer (nee Wells) are pleased to announce the birth of their precious son, Noah Steven, born at the HSC on October 6, 2006 at 3:51 a.m., weighing 8 lbs. 9 oz. Noah is proudly welcomed by first time grandparents, Douglas and Elsie Wells, Mt. Pearl, and third time grandparents, Eric and Doris Grandy, Grand Bank. He is also welcomed by his great-grandmother, Mrs. Ida Wells, St. John's. HEFFERTON- Stephen and Rebecca (nee Watton) are delighted to announce the birth of their beautiful daughter Ava Elizabeth, a sister for big brother Harrison. HOLLOWAY – Chris and Susan (Russell) are ecstatic to announce the birth of their first child, Logan Christopher Russell. Logan was born at the Health Sciences Centre on October 17th, 2006 at 1:36 p.m., weighing 9 lbs. Welcoming Logan were his proud grandparents David and Carole Russell and Gary and Lucinda Holloway along with aunts, uncles and cousins. A special thanks to Dr. Parsons and Dr. Pike for their prenatal care and to Dr. Kum for the safe and healthy arrival of Logan. Also many thanks to the nurses and residents in the case room and on 5NB who took great care of Mommy and Logan. We would also like to thank our families for the extra love and support before, during and after the delivery.

JACKMAN/CLARKE - Our little miracle is finally here. Big Sister Megan is very excited to announce the arrival of her baby sister Katie Hannah, daughter of Rodney & Tammy. Our little angel came into this world on October 8, 2006 at 10:14 p.m. weighing 7 lbs. Very proud grandparents are Rendell & Hazel Hutchings (Poppy is watching over us from above), and Tommy & Patsy Jackman. Special thanks to Dr. Bartellas and all the staff of the caseroom & 5NB at the HSC. Mommy & Katie would also like to give a very big thank you to a very special person in our lives. KENNEDY- Dean and Angelique (Bartlett) are delighted to announce the late, but safe arrival of their beautiful baby girl, JULIA ROSE, born Saturday, October 21, 2006 at 10:52 a.m., weighing 7 lbs. 13 ozs. LOMHOLT-MORTENSEN– Hello, my name is Ole, the cute one on the bottom, and that’s my sister Madeline lying on top of me; she’s been doing that the last 9 months, funny how things never change. We made our grand entrance into the world on October 13, 2006. I weighed 6 lbs. 13 ozs. and my sister weighed 5 lbs. 9½ ozs. We were welcomed with loving arms by our proud parents Martin and Charlene, FarFar and FarMor Mortensen and Poppy and Nanny Jarvis. We would like to take this opportunity to thank our Mommy for providing a safe and warm place for us to live these past nine months. Daddy, we are so grateful for all the love and support you gave mommy, and we heard that on occasion she could be rather grumpy. Thanks are also extended to Dr. Roche, the staff of the case room and 5NB. A special thank you is also extended to our Nanny, Auntie Kimberly and Auntie Mary who helped mommy and daddy through the journey of pregnancy. MELVIN – Scott & Yvonne (nee Norris) are overjoyed to welcome their little miracle Gracie Catherine to the family, born one month early on October 18, 2006 at King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia at only 2.3 kilograms. After a short stay in NICU, Gracie finally came home to two very loving parents. Proud grandparents are Gabrielle Norris of Witless Bay, (Poppy Norris is looking down on Gracie from heaven) and Austin & Thelma Melvin of Tors Cove. Thank you to all Aunts, Uncles & cousins so far away that provided so much support & made Mommy, Daddy, & Gracie feel so special. MOORES – It's a Girl! Proud parents Ian and Melanie, nee Wheeler, of Grand Falls-Windsor, are excited to announce the arrival of their first child, Hannah Lee Moores, weighing 7lbs 14oz and measuring 19¼ inches. Hannah arrived on October 21st, at 3:53am as an early anniversary present to her parents. Her grandparents, Bert and Alicia Moores of Pouch Cove and Calvin and Nancy Wheeler of Summerford, her great-grandmother Martha Boyd, many aunts and uncles and ten cousins eagerly awaited Hannah's safe arrival. Many thanks go to Dr. Rogers, Dr. Butler, and the nurses of Central Newfoundland Regional Health Center for caring for Hannah and Mom. A very special thank you to Daddy for all his love and support.

NELMES - SHEIR – Kelly Nelmes and Jaymie Sheir are pleased to announce the birth of their wonderful 8 lb., 13 oz. daughter Leah Rosalyn Sheir who was born on October 18, 2006 in Cocoa Beach, Florida. Born October 30, 2006 at Groves Memorial Hospital in Fergus, Ontario, weighing 7 lbs. 3 oz. NOLAN – Into our lives, Into our hands, Into our hearts. We wished upon a star and our dream came true. Emma Laura has finally arrived! Emma is much welcomed and loved by her parents Gary and Susanne. Emma was born at McMaster University Hospital on October 24, 2006. Proud grandmother is Laura Nolan. Watching over Emma from heaven is her older brother Jon, grandparents William and Mary Anne Culleton and JC Nolan. Emma is excited to meet all her aunts, uncles and cousins in Newfoundland. We would like to say thank-you, to family, friends, and medical professionals who supported us in our quest to make our family complete. To my husband Gary whom I thought I couldn’t love more, this is the best yet!

NURSE - Krista and Mike are proud to announce the birth of their daughter, Katherine Mary-Louise. Katherine was born on October 30, 2006, at 1:22 a.m. at the HSC in St. John’s, weighing 7 lbs. 6 ozs. Also welcoming Katherine is first time great-grandmother Mary Sutton, first time grandparents John and Sharon Walsh and grandparents Dr. Michael and Carmelita Nurse. Special thanks to the case room nurses and the staff of 5NB for their coaching and support as well as Steve and the management of Provincial Airlines for going above and beyond in getting Dad home in time for delivery.

O'BRIEN – Norman and Nancy are thrilled to announce the arrival of their beautiful baby girl, Mackenzie, born October 10, 2006. She is welcomed by many family and friends. Proud grandparents are Janice and Harris Flight and Rita and Paddy O'Brien. Anxiously awaiting Cameron's arrival were proud Grandparents Francis and Lillian Carey and Ronald and Marena Shannahan, and his Great-Grandmother Mrs. Una Kitchen, who all live in Cape Broyle, NL; as well as his aunts, uncles, and cousins in Newfoundland and Alberta. Mommy would like to thank Nanny and Poppy Carey for coming to Edmonton to help take care of Mommy before Cameron was born, for being there at the hospital each day, and for staying to look after Mommy and Cameron for a few weeks until Mommy gets back on her feet again. Thank you to Aunt Carolyn in Edmonton who helped out so much during Mommy's and Cameron's stay at the hospital. Thanks to all those who sent cards, flowers, gifts, and called or emailed to wish us Congratulations. It is much appreciated. SMITH – Steve and Clarissa (Watson) are thrilled to announce the safe arrival of their precious baby boy, Jackson Steven, born on October 14th, 2006 (Poppy Ed’s birthday) at 5:29 p.m. weighing 7 lbs., 7.5 oz. STANLEY– Ten little fingers and ten little toes two little ears and one little nose. Very cuddly and very sweet from her cute little head to her tiny little feet! Curtis and Heather are thrilled to announce the birth of their beautiful baby girl, Peyton Ashlyn on October 5, 2006 at 5:26 p.m., weighing 7 lbs., 10 oz. at Winnie Palmer Hospital in Orlando, Florida.
