ANTHONY/PERCY- Stephen and Jennifer Percy proudly announce the long awaited arrival of their precious son, Nathan Alexander Percy, born December 19, 2006 at 3:54 a.m., 7 lbs. 14 oz. 51 cm. long. Nathan is the first grandson for Paul and Caroline Anthony, Kelligrews and the first grandchild for Derek and Dolores Percy, Foxtrap. We would like to offer our sincere thanks to Dr. Terry O’Grady, Dr. Tina Delaney, the Maternal Fetal Assessment Unit, as well as Dr. Patricia Roche and the case room staff. You all have played an important role in helping our dream become a reality. We will be forever grateful.

AVERY- Big brothers Sam, Nick, and Gus are ecstatic... Claudia Mae has arrived!! Born on December 3rd, 2006, weighing 7 lbs 4 oz and measuring 19¾ inches tall! Proud parents of this beautiful baby girl are Peter and Andrea Avery (nee Quinlan). A big thank you is extended to our family and friends for all their love and support. Special thanks to Dr. Roger Butler & Denise, and the Case Room Nurses. A very special thank you to Dr. Norah Duggan for providing excellent prenatal care and ensuring a safe and speedy delivery of Claudia.

BAGGS - Jacqueline Baggs and Dorian Rowe are delighted to announce the birth of their daughter Elizabeth Eileen, born July 11, 2006 at the IWK in Halifax, weighing 7 lbs., 14 oz. She is welcomed into the world by a caring and supportive community of family and friends.

BARNES- Shawn & Amanda (Grouchy) are delighted to announce the arrival of their first child, Rebecca Skylar Dawn, born December 29, 2006 at 5:46 p.m., weighing 8 lbs. 3 oz. at HSC in St. John’s. Mommy would like to send a special thanks to Daddy and Nanny (Donna) Grouchy for their strength and encouragement in the delivery room. Thanks to all the nursing staff in the case room and 5NB. They were excellent. Rebecca is welcomed by her proud grandparents Randy & Donna Grouchy, Andrew & Eleanor Barnes, her aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

BATTCOCK/CONNORS - Connor is a Big Brother! Carl and Pam are overjoyed to announce the birth of their beautiful daughter, Avery Margaret Elizabeth, born December 13, 2006, at 7:02 p.m., weighing 6 lbs. 11 ozs. Proud grandparents are John and Peggy Connors, St. John’s, and Tom Battcock, Brigus South. Smiling on Avery from heaven is her Nanny Elizabeth Battcock. A special thank you to Dr. O’Grady and the nurses in the case room and 5NB. Thanks to Daddy for all his love and support. Connor would like to say a big thanks to Aunt Judy for taking such wonderful care of him while Mommy was in the hospital.

BEAZLEY- John and Heather (LeGrow) thank God for the safe arrival of a precious baby boy, Noah William, 7 lbs. 8 oz., on December 23, 2006 at the Women’s Health Centre, St. John’s. Noah is welcomed by grandparents Irene Hudson LeGrow, Melvin LeGrow, and Judy Beazley. Watching over Noah from Heaven is Poppy William Beazley. Also delighted with “Baby Nona” is little cousin, Stephanie, Aunt Brenda and Uncle Dave. A special thanks to Daddy and Deanne (Auntie Dee) for all their love, support and care during labour and delivery.

BROMLEY/WHALEN- Colleen and Glen proudly announce the much awaited arrival of Noah, weighing 8 lbs. 11 ozs. Born on December 11, 2006 at 2:44 p.m., in Oakville, ON at the OTMH. Proud siblings are Emily, Nathan, Allan and Veronica. Late grandparents Juanita and Patrick Bromley, Walter and Emily Whalen are angels watching over us. Many thanks to Dr. Robert Morrow and the staff at OTMH. Also, a special thank you to Craig and Diane Stanford and Lisa and Brett Melon for their support and dedication to our family.

BYRNE- Peter, Susan (Peters) and big brother Murray are thrilled to announce the arrival of Lillian Enid, born December 30, 2006 at WHC, weighing 6 lbs. 13 oz. Proud grandparents are Peter and Bernadette Byrne and Douglas and Marilyn Peters. Also proud great-grandmothers Kathleen Byrne and Enid Reid. Special thanks to Dr. O'Grady, Heather Rees, Dr. Mercer and all the nurses of 5NB for care prior to and after Lily's arrival. Extra special thanks to Dr. Roche for her professionalism and medical expertise in prenatal care. Thanks also to case room nurses Bev, Robyn, Drs. Fowler, Cook and Strand for a safe delivery.

CARTER- Matthew is a Big Brother! Our family now complete. Mike and Kelly Carter are thrilled to announce the arrival of their son, Maxwell Robert Donald. Max was born on December 17, 2006, weighing 8 lbs. 6 ozs. Proud grandparents are Jan Spratt and Don and Teresa Carter. Special thanks to nurse Robyn Beaudry and thanks to Dr. Roche for amazing prenatal care.

COFFEY - It’s a Girl! Derek, Cathy & big brother Zachary are thrilled to announce the arrival of their beautiful little girl; Rachel Lauren born on December 15th, 2006 at 7:12 am weighing 8 lbs 15 oz. She was born on her great Nanny Nash’s 89th birthday! Very proud grandparents welcoming Rachel are Mona & Ron & Maud & Martin. Watching from heaven are great Nanny Clarke & Nanny Coffey. We know they would be very proud of little Rachel. Also welcoming her is her Uncle Jason, many family & friends. We would like to say a special thank you to Drs. Roche, Brown & Bartellas & all the special nurses of the caseroom & 5NB. Thanks to Daddy for all of his encouragement & support during the labor & delivery!

CROTTY - Lawson along with Mommy Michelle (Burton) and Daddy Chris would like to tell everyone that on December 6, 2006, he officially became a big brother. True to the Crotty men’s style of taking their time Spencer Hayden arrived 11 days late, weighing 8 lbs., 9.5 oz. Spencer is the third grandson for Pat and Vince Burton and second for Paul Crotty all of Paradise. Watching from Heaven and keeping the boys safe is Nanny Crotty. Spencer is also welcomed by his uncle’s Vince and Mike, aunts Paula and Nancy and special cousin Joey, along with many more cousins, aunts and uncles. Mommy and Daddy would like to thank Nan and Pop Burton for making Spencer’s entrance so easy by caring for Lawson and our furry friend Lenka. Mommy would like to thank Daddy for being such a great coach, as well as case room nurse Beverly Donovan, Drs. Mercer and Kum and Dr. Roche for her prenatal care.

EALES - Jim and Lori (Bishop) are thrilled to announce the arrival of their beautiful baby boy, James Nicolas, born on December 21, 2006, weighing 9 lbs. and welcomed by sister Hayley and brother Colten. Proud first time grandparents Jim and Elaine Eales and fifth time grandparents Bernadette and Bernard Bishop. Special thanks to Dr. Cherry Pike, nurse Paula and staff.

ELLARD - Jason and Michelle (Donahue) are thrilled to announce the arrival of their first child, Nathan Michael Ellard, born December 13, 2006 at 6:17 p.m., weighing 7 lbs., 14.8 ounces at the H.S.C. in St. John’s. Thanks to all the nursing staff in the case room and 5NB for taking such good care of Nathan & Mom. Thank you to Dr. O’Grady for Nathan’s safe arrival. Also special thanks to Dr. Strand and Dr. Faris for the excellent prenatal care.

FOWLER - Born to Joseph and Kathryn (Dunbar) a son, Kyle David, weighing 7 lbs., 13 oz, on Sunday, December 10, 2006 in Columbia, South Carolina. Proud first-time grandparents are David and Anne Marie Fowler of St. Philip’s, NL and John and Norah Dunbar of Dartmouth, N.S.

GARDNER - Ben & Meghan (Furey) announce the birth of their first child, Sarah Wynne Furey Gardner, on December 9, 2006, at the Ottawa Civic. Sarah is warmly welcomed by grandparents George & Karen Furey, St. John’s and Don and Melody Gardner, Ottawa and great-grandparents Margaret O’Keefe, and Mary Furey, St. John’s & Charles and Winnifred (Davey) Gardner, Ottawa. Mom and Sarah thank Dad for the wonderful support, and Auntie Rebecca for rushing to Ottawa for the big event.

GILLIS - "Little boys are so much fun, we thought we would have another one." Dr. Alex and Erin Gillis are thrilled to announce the birth of their son, Samuel Wayne Donald, born at the Aberdeen Hospital in New Glasgow, NS. Sam arrived on his Nanny Heather's birthday, December 26, 2006, and weighed 8 pounds. Welcoming Sam are his big brothers Brad, Kyle & Ben, as well as proud grandparents Wayne and Heather Boggan, Mount Pearl, and Don and Judy Gillis, PEI. Heartfelt thanks are extended to Drs. Joshi and Jeans for exceptional prenatal care and for a safe and speedy delivery. Sam and his family are so happy to be in Nfld this weekend to celebrate his baptism and are glad that Grand-mum & Grand-dad Gillis are able to attend. Uncle Ken & Auntie Fatima Richards are Sam's proud God-parents.

GOSSE- It’s a girl! Big brothers Eric and Luke are tickled pink with their new little sister, Anna Kate Gosse. Anna was born on December 12, 2006 at 8:37 p.m., weighing 6 lbs. 8 ozs. Proud parents are Natalie and Peter Gosse of St. John's. Also beaming with joy are grandparents Robert and Linda Gosse and Steve and Lorraine MacKenzie. We wish to thank Dr. O’Shea and caseroom nurses Karen, Michelle and Shannon for your outstanding care! Thanks to the nurses on 5NB with a special thanks to Shiela LPN who took extra special care of us during those first nights! Mommy would also like to thank Daddy for his love and support and Aunt Paula for being such a wonderful coach and finally to the wonderful big brothers who certainly treat their little sister like a princess!!

HEFFERMAN – Martin, Susan (Hanlon), and big sister Abigayle are overjoyed to announce the arrival of Rebecca Jane. Rebecca was born on December 18, 2006 at 8:47 am, weighing 6 lbs 9 oz. Welcoming Rebecca into the world are proud grandparents Theresa Hefferman, Don and Marguerite Hanlon, and great-grandmother Dorothy Howlett along with all her aunts, uncles and cousins. Special thank-you to Dr. Heidi Kravitz, Dr. Tina Squires, and Dr. Deanne Murphy for their excellent care as well as the staff of the Women’s Health Center. Mommy would like to send a very special thank-you to Daddy and the world’s best big sister Abigayle for all their love and support.

JENKINS/WISEMAN - Boys are found everywhere - on top of, underneath, inside of, climbing on, swinging from, running around or jumping to. Mothers love them, little girls hate them, older sisters and brothers tolerate them, adults ignore them and Heaven protects them. A boy is truth with dirt on its face, beauty with a cut on its finger, wisdom with bubble gum in its hair, and the hope of the future with a frog in its pocket.
On December 22, 2006, Andrea, Tony and Ty welcomed another beautiful baby boy into their hearts and lives, weighing 5 lbs. 8 oz. Rowan John was born at the IWK-Grace in Halifax, N.S. Waiting patiently for news of Rowan’s arrival were the Wiseman’s - Nana (Barb), Poppy (Bob), Uncle Terry, Aunt Alida, Sean, Cole, Uncle Steve and Great-Nan Mildred Wiseman; and the Jenkins’ - Nanny (Betty), Poppy (Joe), Uncle Shawn, Amanda, Uncle Derek, Aunt Tammy, Braydon, Brooklyn, Uncle Mark and Aunt Nicole. Andrea and Tony are especially grateful to Nana and Poppy Wiseman, who continue to show unwavering commitment to their family in all that they do. We would have never survived those first few weeks without you!
Sweet Rowan - You are such a miracle. Your birth has formed a new place in our hearts that will always be filled with you. Even when you’re grown, that place will still be there. We love you so much! Love, Mommy, Daddy and Ty.

KANE- The best Christmas present ever! Alex and Jill (Philpott) are thrilled to announce the birth of their beautiful baby boy, Matthew Alexander, born December 17, 2006, 12:17 a.m. at the Women’s Health Centre, weighing 8 lbs. 5 ozs. Matthew is welcomed by proud first time grandparents Ellen Philpott and Lloyd and Linda Kane. Special thanks to Drs. Strand, Howse and Cook for excellent prenatal care, case room nurses; especially Robyn, Michelle and all the staff of 5 North B. Watching over Matthew from heaven is poppy Frank Philpott.

KEEFE - Cory and Marti (Curran) are tickled pink to announce the Christmas arrival of their daughter, Chloe Isabelle Sarah on December 24, 2006 at 11:20 a.m., weighing 7 lbs. Chloe is welcomed by proud grandparents John and Isabelle Curran and Milley and the late Stephen Keefe, great-grandmothers Patricia Curran, Violet Mercer and Elizabeth Keefe, Aunt Suzanne and Uncle Jay, Aunt Crystal and Uncle Jason, and cousins Zachary and Stephen. Thanks to Dr. Roche for excellent prenatal care and to Drs. Tennant and Bedi for a speedy delivery. KELLY/POWELL - Jason and Andrea are thrilled to announce the birth of their first child, a beautiful baby boy, Ryan Patrick Kelly. Ryan was born December 2, 2006 at 10:29 p.m. at the W.H.C., St. John’s, weighing 8 lbs. 5 oz. He is the first grandchild for Calvin and Betty Powell of Carbonear, and the second grandchild for Frank and Linda Kelly of Labrador City. Also welcoming Ryan to the world are his Uncle Calvin, Uncle Stephen, Uncle Mark and Aunt Kerri, and cousin Kara Frankie. Thanks to Dr. Kum, Dr. Pike and the staff and nurses of the caseroom and 5NB. KIDNEY- Proud parents Mike and Connie Kidney would like to announce the birth of their beautiful baby girl, Reagan May Kidney born on December 15, 2006 at the Health Sciences Centre weighing 9 lbs. 8 oz.

LEGROW - Santa brought us the best Christmas present ever, a new baby girl! Proud parents Scott and Roschella, big sisters Claire and Sara welcomed another princess to our family. Myra Mae LeGrow was born December 25, 2006, weighing 8 lbs. 7 ozs. Moma would like to thank dada and grandma for all your support during Myra’s arrival and since we’ve come home. I love you. Moma and dada would also like to thank a very special pop and one of a kind nana for all your love and support. We love you. We would also like to thank Dr. Lacelle and Nurse Beaudry. MACK- Martin and Anne (Forsey) thank God for the safe arrival of David Gordon William, 7 lbs. 5 ozs., on December 15, 2006 at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John’s. David is a little brother for Joshua, Sarah & Grace. Proud grandparents are Gordon and the late Mary Mack of Halifax, Marion and the late William Forsey of Clarenville and great-grandmother Mrs. Lee Porter of Porterville. MARSH – Lee and Tracey (Walsh) are thrilled to announce the arrival of their beautiful baby girl, Kaylee Mary Theresa, born on December 5, 2006 at 12:13 a.m., weighing 8 pounds 5 ounces. McCARTHY (CRUZ)– Kip and Cheryl are pleased to announce the arrival of 6 lb. 9 oz. baby girl, Kalli Raquel, on Monday, December 4, 2006 at 8:41 a.m. Big brother Dean, now a proud Kuya, along with grandparents Rachel McCarthy of St. John’s, Dr. Emmanuel and Dr. Thelma Cruz of Vancouver and great-grandmother Nanay Fe Santos of the Philippines all welcome the arrival of baby Kalli. Heartfelt thanks to all the doctors, especially Dr. Kravitz, nurses and staff for all the care and to friends and family for the kindness, gifts and support over the last nine months.

McKAY - David & Elaine (Finlay) & big brother Dylan are thrilled to announce the arrival of Donovan David born on Dec. 2, 2006 at Sturgeon Hospital, St. Albert, AB weighing 10 lbs., 4 ozs. NORMAN- Craig and Rosemary (Savory) Norman couldn’t be happier with what Santa left in their stocking this Christmas - a beautiful baby girl! As Nanny Savory watched from heaven, Sarah Louise Willa Norman arrived three weeks early on Christmas Day, 2006 at 12:38 p.m., weighing 5 lbs. 6 oz. Thrilled to rush through Christmas dinner and welcome her at the Health Sciences Complex were Nanny Norman, Aunt Michelle, Poppy Savory, Aunt Diana, Chris, Aunt Sandra and Aunt Lori. Waiting patiently at home to see her were Poppy Norman, Great-Aunt Elaine, Uncle Christopher, Uncle Scott and Abby. Special wishes were also sent from Uncle Scott, Aunt Tina, Uncle Corey and Austin in Brampton, Ontario. Rosemary and Sarah would like to thank the nursing staff in the case room and 5 North B, who looked after both of them very well. Also, Sarah sends a special thank you to the anonymous elf who left the beautiful quilt for her for being the last baby born at the Health Sciences Complex on Christmas Day. She will cherish it always, and won’t forget that she’ll never be able to order pizza on her birthday!

O’FLAHERTY- Born at 2:04 p.m. on December 6, 2006 at the HSC in St. John's, William James Augustus O'Flaherty, second son of Daphne Sheaves and Keir O'Flaherty. Weighing in at a fortunate 6 lbs., 9 oz, William is welcomed by his brother Patrick, by grandparents Frankie O'Neill, Patrick O'Flaherty and Marjorie Doyle of St. John's, and Aneitha Sheaves of Port-aux-Basques, and by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Special thanks again to Dr. Terry O'Grady, and to the nursing staff at the HSC, for their excellent care.

RYAN- Our precious baby girl has arrived! Maya Isabelle, weighing 5 lbs. 11 oz., was born on December 31, 2006 at the IWK Health Center, Halifax to Donna and Justin Ryan. Celebrating the birth are proud grandparents, Lillian and Donald Joslin of Calgary, AB and Patricia and Lloyd Ryan, Torbay, NL. Also welcoming the new arrival are Auntie Rachel and Uncle Ray, Greenwood, NS; Uncle Christopher of Calgary, Auntie Esther and Uncle Patrick along with cousins Jack and Robert of Calgary.

SKIFFINGTON- Corey, Susan and big brother Jacob, are thrilled to announce the latest additions to their family, twin girls! Born on December 28, 2006 at 11:30 p.m. was Julie Rebecca, weighing 7 lbs. 6 oz. and 16 minutes later her sister, Paige Victoria, weighing 5 lbs. 14 oz. Proud grandparents just as excited about their arrival are Debbie and Randy White of St. John’s and Brenda and Gerald Skiffington of St. Philips. Special thank-yous to Dr. Gill for his exceptional prenatal care, nurses Pat and Sue of the Fetal Assessment Unit, Dr. Kravitz during delivery and case room nurse Lisa Madden for her great coaching during delivery.

SMITH- Our precious "little man" has finally arrived! Curtis, Kelly (Manning) and big sister Brooklyn are delighted to introduce Jaxon Charles to the world. Jaxon made his debut on December 20th, 2006 at 12:35 am, weighing 7 lbs 12.75 ozs. Proud grandparents are Charles and Loretta Smith and welcoming their first grandson Anne and Dion Russell and Kevin Manning. Mommy would like to express a sincere thank you to Daddy and Nanny Russell for their support and encouragement during labor and delivery and Brooklyn would like to say "tanks" to special cousins Meagan "MeMe" and Emma for taking such wonderful care of her while Mommy was in the hospital.

WADMAN/ENNIS - Dave, Janine and Big Sister Amber-Lynn of Placentia are excited to announce the birth of their new baby, Liam Noel Wadman. Liam was born December 16, 2006 at 05:26 a.m. at The Health Sciences Center, weighing 8 pounds, 4 ounces. Welcoming Liam’s arrival are proud grandparents Pete and Lorraine Wadman and Ronnie and Diana Ennis, aunts and uncles Ron Ennis, Colleen Wadman and Peter and Leann Wadman. Special thanks to all the Doctors, nurses and staff of the case room, delivery room and 5 North B at The Health Sciences Center.

Colleen and John are pleased to announce the birth of their precious son, Alexander John, born December 23, 2006 at 10:40 a.m., weighing 6 lbs. 14 oz. Alexander is welcomed by proud grandparents Lorraine and Peter Wadman of Dunville and Mary and Noel Veitch and great-grandmother Mollie Fitzgerald of St. John’s. Thank you to the staff of the caseroom and 5NB and a very special thanks to Dr. Pat O’Shea for his patience, kindness and professional care.

WHITEWAY- Brian, Dianne (Hall) and big brother Liam are thrilled to announce the safe and happy arrival of their beautiful daughter and sister, Katie Mary, who arrived on December 30th, 2006 at 11:42 p.m, weighing 7 lbs 13 oz. Katie is lovingly welcomed by proud grandparents Gerald and Phyllis Hall and Bill and Barb Whiteway, and by great grandparents Mary and Gerald Dodd and Violet Hall. Katie is also welcomed by Uncles Brent, Peter and Jim, Aunts Denice, and Tara, and cousins Breanna, Brittany, Abby, and James. Our new family is doing great, and would like to send special thanks to our friends and family for their ongoing love and support and to the staff of The Women’s Health Center who helped bring Katie into this world.

YOUNG/EVANS- Justin and Jill (Evans) are delighted to announce an early Christmas gift. Samuel Terence was born two weeks early on December 22, 2006 in Mississauga weighing 8 lbs. 2 oz. Proud first time grandparents Jerry Evans and Rose Ann Evans of Mt. Pearl and grandparents Hubert Young (Musgravetown), Bonnie Squires (Port Blandford) and Poppy Gid watching from heaven all want to welcome Samuel into the family. Samuel is anxiously awaiting his visit to Newfoundland in March to meet all his family and catch up on many hugs and kisses.
