Proud grandparents are Dr. Peter & Mrs. Isabel Ashworth of Keswick, Ont. & Mrs. Louise Mullaly of St. John's.

BELBIN - Our family is complete! Bruce and Victoria Belbin (nee Sparkes) are happy to announce the birth of a baby sister for Max and Caroline! Charlotte Laura, born on August 11th, 2004, weighing in at a healthy 7 lbs. 15 oz. Special welcome from grandparents Sharon and Peter Outerbridge of St. John's and Madeline Belbin of Gander. Carefully being watched over by the late David B. Sparkes, Bruce Belbin Sr. and great-granny Laura Dawe. Our special thanks again to the staff of the Women's Health Center, as well as Drs. Green, Roche and Delaney.

BENSON - Darryl and Judy are delighted to announce the much anticipated arrival of their beautiful daughter Kyra Nicole. Weighing 8 lbs., 7 oz., Kyra was born at 5:27 a.m. on August 2, 2004. Kyra is welcomed by a large group of family and friends, including excited first-time grandparents Clar and Joan Hooper and Fred and Mary Benson. Nanny Marilyn will always be her guardian angel. Mommy and Daddy wish to thank the nurses and staff of the caseroom and 5NB for their excellent care. Special thanks go to Dr. Teresa O'Grady for making our new family possible.

BIDDISCOMBE/KEARSEY - Craig and Christine are thrilled to announce the birth of their precious baby girl, Brooklyn Marie, born August 10, 2004, weighing 7 lbs., 4 oz. Proud first time grandparents are Keith and Patricia Kearsey and Doug and Roma Biddiscombe. Brooklyn is welcomed by uncles Stephen, Shaun and Jason; aunt Lea Ann; great-grandmothers Theresa Coady, Elizabeth Kearsey and Marjorie Crowther. Special thanks to Dr. Pat O'Shea and Nurses in the caseroom and 5NB. An extra special thanks to Nanny K and Daddy for being such good coaches. We love you Daddy.

BISHOP - It's a girl! Proud parents Wayne and Tara welcomed their precious bundle of joy into the world on August 17, 2004. Kate Lauren arrived at 10:45 a.m., weighing in at 8 lbs., 9 ozs and 21 inches long. Also welcoming Kate are proud grandparents Allan and Lorraine Bambury and Wayne and Gwen Bishop, Uncle Kurt and Aunt Susan, Aunt Coreena and Uncle Brian, Uncle Shawn and cousins Evan and Hannah. Thanks to all our family and friends for visits, calls, prayers and generous gifts. Special thanks to the case room and 5NB nursing and medical staff for their wonderful care. Kate and Mommy are particularly grateful to Daddy for being so great throughout the delivery and to LPN Donna Walsh for helping us during the first few nights after delivery.

BURKE - Joyfully announcing the arrival of Kaitlyn Michelle on August 17, 2004, weighing 10 lbs. 4 oz. Michael and Fiona, along with big brothers Reilly and Evan are just tickled pink. Sharing our excitement are Nana (Doris Boland), Grammie and Grampie (Judy and Rick Burke) and Gigi (great-grandmother Marie Gaultois), along with other friends and family. Thanks to the staff of the caseroom especially Annette Coates, RN, for her terrific support and delivery of our express package, to the staff of 5NB and all those in the NICU for the exceptional care given to Kaitlyn. Endless thanks to Dr. Pat O'Shea who continues to provide outstanding care to our family. Extra hugs and kisses to Nana and Grammie for all their help with "the boys" over the last few months. "Another sweet smile to brighten our day, another small hand to hold on the way."

CRITCH - Harrison and Karen are proud to announce the safe arrival of their precious baby boy, Evan Christopher Keith, born August 25, 2004, weighing 4 lbs. 10 oz. Evan is proudly welcomed by Nanny Spracklin, Nanny and Poppy Critch, Auntie Elaine, Uncle Brian (families) and smiling down from heaven are Poppy Spracklin and Uncle Keith. Thanks to Dr. Kennedy, Dr. Roche, Nurse Denise Maher and 5NB staff. Special thanks to Daddy for all his love and support and for being such a great coach!

CULLEN/TRAHEY - Marc and Tracey are thrilled to announce the eagerly anticipated arrival of their first child, the beautiful MEGHAN ROSE, born August 1, 2004 at 4:28 p.m. Meghan weighed 7 lbs. 10 ozs and was 48 cm. long. Meghan is welcomed by overjoyed first time grandparents Rose and Harold Trahey and Terry and Sharon Cullen. Meghan is also welcomed by her aunt and godmother Angie (Jamie), uncles Harold and Trevor, uncle Steven (Beth Anne), uncle and godfather Scott, great-grandmothers Elizabeth Woodford and Marjorie Cullen, as well as a vast array of extended family and friends. Thanks to all of the staff members at the Health Sciences Center who shared in Meghan's birth, particularly nurse and midwife Robyn, for all her supportive words. A very special thank you to Daddy for being such a great coach and to Nana Trahey for giving Mommy her unending guidance and support during her pregnancy, as well as all the great meals!

DEAN, Jordan - Proud parents Jason & Sheila of CBS would like to announce the birth of their first son Jordan. Jordan's delighted family includes: Grandparents: Wade & Late Paulette Dean of Victoria, Fred & Regina Baldwin of Carbonear, & Melvin Lambert of Ontario. Jordan couldn't wait to get out in the world, so he came three months early on Aug. 5/04 weighing 2 lb., 3 ozs. Due Date: Nov. 5/04. But we now know why he came early, to see his grandmother Dean (now his guardian angel), who was tragically killed on Oct. 12/04, while driving home after visiting him in the NICU. Jordan came home on Oct. 23/04 weighing 6 lbs., 3 ozs.

DICINTIO/TESSIER - Roxanne and Jamie are proud to announce the birth of their son, Noah Jayson, born August 27, 2004 at 6:48 p.m., weighing 7 lbs. 14½ oz. at Hotel Deiu Hospital, Cornwall, Ont. FINN-GORRIE - Gerry and Erin (Gorrie) Finn are thrilled to announce the arrival of their second son, Oscar Thomas on August 4, 2004, weighing 8 lbs. 11.5 ozs. at Oakville Trafalgar Hospital in Oakville, Ontario. Oscar is welcomed by his big brother Owen and grandparents Gerard and Hannah Finn of St. John's and Bruce and Lynne Gorrie of Brighton, Ontario.

FINLAY/WHIFFEN - Philip & Nancy are thrilled to announce the birth of Rachel Anne, born Aug. 5th, 2004, weighing 8 lbs., 13½ oz. Welcoming Rachel is first time grandparents Ray & Anne Whiffen and proud grandparents Marie Finlay & Poppy Don. GEAR - Glen and Alison (nee Jackman) are delighted to announce the arrival of their beautiful daughter, Sarah Elizabeth, on August 12, 2004, at Grey Nun's Hospital, Edmonton, AB, weighing 9 lbs. 8 ozs. GREEK/SPARKES - Joel, Joanne, and big brother Andrew are delighted to announce the birth of their precious baby girl, Karen Jane. Karen was born August 7, 2004 at 4:26 p.m., weighing 10 lbs. 11 ozs. at the Health Sciences Centre in St. John's, Newfoundland. Proud grandparents are Stan and Judy Sparkes of Glovertown, Newfoundland and Karl and Ingrid Greek of Bridgewater, Nova Scotia. Special thanks to our families for their continued love and support and to Dr. Tennent, Dr. Cook, and all of the other doctors and nurses in the Caseroom and on 5NB for their excellent care.

HEAD/HOUNSELL -Proud new parents, Kevin and Susan, are pleased to announce the safe arrival of their baby boy, Aiden Thomas Emerson, born on August 27, 2004, and weighing in at a healthy 8 lbs. 7 oz. Aiden is the first grandchild of Emerson and Marilyn Hounsell and a welcome addition to the grandchildren of Austin and Lily Head, all of Gander. Aiden is also blessed with three great-grandmothers, Millicent Bradbury of Gander, Mildred Head (King) of Gander and Eliza Paul of Gambo. Special thanks to Dr. Elizabeth Mate and Dr. Heidi Kravitz and to the staff of the Women's Health Division of the Health Sciences Centre. Connor was born on Friday, August 20th, 2004 at 3:14 a.m., weighing 7 lbs., 5 ozs. NORMAN - Big brother Andrew is so excited to announce the arrival of his precious baby brother, Lucas Rodney Allan, born on August 11th, 2004, weighing 8 lbs. 12 oz. Proud parents Kevin and Christa (nee Lambe) are delighted to share his arrival with all our family and friends, especially the grandparents, Kevin Norman, and Roger and Leona Lambe. Nanny June Norman keeps special watch over her grandson from Heaven. Lucas is also welcomed into our family by his Aunt Shelly, Uncle Rod and Aunt Diane. O'TOOLE/WARREN - Joe and Martha are pleased to announce the early, but safe arrival of their daughter, Brianna Colleen Rose on August 24, 2004 at 9:50 p.m., weighing 6 lbs. Proud grandparents are Charles and Marjorie Warren of Chapel Arm, Vincent and Charlotte O'Toole of Labrador City, and one great-grandparent, Clotilda O'Toole of Point-Au-Mal. Thanks to Dr. Crane and Dr. Parsons for going above and beyond to ensure the safe arrival of our little girl. SHIELDS - James and Olive Shields are delighted to announce the birth of their first great-grandchild, Elizabeth Grace. Ellie was born at the Grace Hospital in Halifax on August 18, 2004. She is the first child of Christopher and Mary-Ann Shields and the first grandchild of proud grandparents Doug and Beth Shields of St. Margaret's Bay, Nova Scotia.

SNOW - Byron and Alison are thrilled to announce the birth of their first child, a precious baby boy, Caleb Anthony, born on August 30th, 2004, weighing 7 lbs. Gordie and Jan are thrilled to announce the arrival of their precious son, Aaron Jacob, born on August 29, 2004, at 8:47 a.m., weighing 7 lbs. 13 ozs. at the WHC in St. John's. Welcoming Aaron are proud first-time grandparents Cora Winsor (Lionel Clarke) of Markland and Gordon Sooley of Dildo; and eighth-time grandparents Douglas and Betty Sanger of Grand Falls-Windsor. Ben was born at the WHC on August 26th, 2004 at 2:48 p.m., weighing 6 lbs. 7 oz. Ben is welcomed by proud grandparents, Brendan and Annie Jordan of Ferryland and Fatemah Manzouri of Mashad, Iran. Ben's grandfather, Reza Tehrani, is watching over him from heaven. Ben is blessed to have many aunts, uncles and cousins who celebrate his arrival both in Newfoundland and Iran. We are thankful to Drs. Callahan, Pike, Kum and Kennedy, caseroom nurse Sue Harding and the nurses of 5NB for their superb care.
