MATCHEM, Faith (nee Manuel) - Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre on Thursday January 2, 1997, Faith Matchem of Catalina, aged 55 years. Predeceased by her son Terry, March 1990 and brother Maxwell, September 1973. Leaving to mourn her husband, Donald; three sons: David (Bonnie); Jerry (Minnetta); Jason; daughter-in-law Annette and two grandsons, Jeremy and Keith; parents Samuel and Blanche Manuel of Catalina; brothers: Thomas, James, Fred, Graham; also a large circle of other relatives and friends. Resting at Strathie's Funeral Home, Catalina. Details of funeral service to be announced.

MANUELS, Samuel James - (Member of the Royal Canadian Legion). Passed peacefully away on Saturday, February 22, 1997, at he Dr. G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville, Samuel James Manuel of Catalina, aged 88 years. Predeceased by his son Maxwell, September 1973; daughter Faith Matchem, January 1997; brother John, December 1977. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, his wife Blanche; sons: Thomas (Eileen), James (Linda); Frederick; Graham (Marilyn); fifteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Also, sisters Amelia Dalton, Connecticut, Margaret Carlo, Florida, Sarah (Sally) Manuel, St. John's, Ethel Samson, Port Union, Roberta Pomeroy, Mount Pearl, as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral was held at St. Peter's Anglican Church, Catalina, on Monday, February 24, 1997. Interment at the Anglican Cemetery.
