StarPhoenix (Saskatoon) November 22, 2008 (Saturday)
Noreen Bader
of Saskatoon passed away peacefully at St. Paul's Hospital. Noreen is survived by her only child, Gerry (Pat) of Saskatoon; three grandchildren, Karen of Calgary, AB, Michael of Calgary, AB, and Mark (Christa) of Quispamsis, NB; three great grandchildren, Nicole Brock of Calgary, AB, Shawn Brock of Saskatoon, and Seth Carpenter-Bader of Quispamsis, NB. Noreen is also survived by her brother, Owen Brisbois of Coquitlam BC; sister-in-law, Margaret; brother-in-law, Eugene (Alice), all of Saskatoon; brother-in-law, Bill Tucker of Portugal Cove NF; brother-in-law, Cliff Moore of Burnaby BC, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Noreen was predeceased by the 68-year love of her life husband, Phillip; father, Arthur; mother, Vida (Clayton) and sister, Denise Moore.

Born at Harris SK, Noreen married Phil in 1939 moving to Phil's family's homestead in Makwa, SK where they farmed until 1945 and then moved to Saskatoon. Noreen worked for Eatons until she and Phil started their own business (Quick Cleaners) in Regina in 1958. Noreen and Phil sold their business and retired in 1983 moving back to Saskatoon to be closer to family.

Noreen was very skilled at petit point, an avid reader, and loved flea markets and garage sales. She spent a fair amount of time selling jewelry and other lapidary craft made by her husband at these markets, as well as in the front end of their dry cleaning business. Also as a result of her hours spent at the flea market, her collection of porcelain head vases was extensive.

The family would like to thank the staff at St. Ann's and the nurses and staff of 5th Floor Medicine at St. Paul's Hospital. Your dedication and care are sincerely appreciated. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, Nov 24, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of St. Ann's Senior Citizens Village, 2910 Louise Street, Saskatoon, SK. Rite of committal of ashes will take place at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Saskatoon SK. Condolences to the family may be sent via www.parkfuneral.ca     Arrangements entrusted to Derryl Hildebrandt of PARK FUNERAL CHAPEL, 244-2103.
