Wednesday, January 7, 1835 Died at Portugal Cove, on December 26th ult, after a lingering illness, Mr. GEORGE GOFF, a native of Hampshire, England, aged 75 years, about 60 years of which he spent in this country.

Died at Hr. Grace on Saturday last, after a lingering illness, Mr. ROBERT PARSONS, aged 71 years.

Wednesday, January 14, 1835 Died at Clown’s Cove on Wednesday last, Mrs. MOORS, aged 90 years.

Died at St. John’s on Tuesday, the 6th inst., in the 75th year of his age, nearly 50 of which were spent in this country, Mr. GEORGE VEY.

Wednesday, February 4, 1835 Married at Freshwater, on Friday last, by the Rev. J.G. Hennigar, Wesleyan Missionary, Capt. JOHN STABB to Miss TRYPHENE, youngest daughter of the late Mr. Joseph PARSONS, of Freshwater.

Died on Sunday last, Mr. THOMAS PIKE, aged 101 years.

Died at St. John’s on the 8th inst., at his residence on Duckworth Street, after a lingering illness, aged 54 years, JOHN BUNTING, Esq., Surgeon, H.M. Royal Navy.

Died at St. John’s on the 8th inst., aged 29 years, ELIZABETH, eldest daughter of Mr. John M. SPRY, carpenter.

Wednesday, March 4, 1835 Died yesterday morning, WILLIAM JAFFRAY HERVEY, Esq., of the house of Messrs. Robinson, Brooking, Garland & Co., aged 33 years. Public Ledger, Feb. 24th.

Wednesday, March 11, 1835 Died on Monday last, aged 70 years, Mrs. ELIZABETH NURSE, a native of Hampshire, England, but for 50 years a respectable inhabitant of this town. She was a member of the Congregational Chapel. Newfoundlander, March 5.

Wednesday, April 8, 1835 Married on Thursday last, by the Rev. J.G. Hennigar, Wesleyan Missionary, Mr. JOHN PARSONS, of Hr. Grace, to RACHEL, fourth daughter of Mr. Jonathan PARSONS, of Freshwater.

(It is very hard deciphering the papers, because the ink has faded..)

Wednesday, May 20, 1835 Married at Hr. Grace on Thursday last, by the Rev. J. Burt and afterwards by Rev. C. Dalton, Capt. EDWARD WILLIAMS, of the brig Experiment, to Miss CATHERINE MOLLOY, sister to Dr. Molloy of this town. The lovely bride was given away by James Bayly, Esq., of H.M. Customs.

Died at Hr. Grace on Wednesday last, after 18 years of suffering in the most deplorable state of lunacy, Mr. EDWARD FREDERICK PIKE, aged 36, son of the late Capt. Thomas Pike of this town, and grandson to the late Surrogate Garland of Hr. Grace.

Wednesday, June 10, 1835 Died April 10, at Teignmouth, Devon, Mr. WILLIAM PINSENT, merchant, late of Port de Grave, Nfld., aged 78.

Died on the 12th of May, on board the colonial Brig, Maria, on his passage from hence to Halifax, Lieut. HOLLINGWORTH, R.A., His remains were conveyed to Halifax where they were interred with military honor on the 17th. The Gazette.

Wednesday, June 17, 1835 Died on Thursday last, Mr. FRANCI PIKE, aged 75 years, and old and respectable inhabitant of this town.

Died at Bellmonte (near Fredericton) on the 19th of April, SARAH GREENE, relict of the late Hon. Judge BLISS, AGED 58 YEARS. N.B. Courier.

Wednesday, June 24, 1835 Married at Hr. Grace yesterday, by the Rev. J. Burt, Mr. STEPHEN OLIVER PACK, eldest son of Robert Pack, Esq.,M.C.P., and a merchant of this town, to ELLEN, third daughter of the late Fort Major GREEN, of St. John’s.

Wednesday, July 1, 1835 Died on the 16th of May, in the 19th year of her age, ELIZA, third daughter of the Hon. Fade GOFF, of Erwin, Vale, P.E. Island.

Wednesday, July 8, 1835 Married on Tuesday, 30th June, by the Rev. F.H. Carrington, JOHN RICHARD McGUIRE COOKE, Esq., of H.M. Customs to ANNA BROWN, fourth daughter of Newman Wright HOYLES, Esq., Col. Treasurer of this island.

Died on Sunday last, JOHN, only child of Mr. Stephen J. DANIEL, aged 9 months.

Wednesday, July 15, 1835 Married at St. John’s on the 14th inst., at the Congregational Church, by the Rev. D.S. Ward, JOSEPH NOAD, Esq., His Majesty’s Surveyor General, to EMMA GADEN, fourth daughter of George LILLY, Esq., Barrister at Law and Master in Chancery.

Wednesday, August 12, 1835 Died at Ferryland, on the 20th ultimo, after a long and severe illness, aged 33 years, HARRIET MARIA, wife of A.H. CARTER, Esq., and eldest daughter of the late Col. SKINNER, Royal Artillery.

Wednesday, August 19, 1835 Died at Bear’s Cove, near Hr. Grace on Sunday evening, the 9th instant, much lamented and regretted, Mr. WILLIAM PARSONS, planter, aged 63 years.

Wednesday, September 2, 1835 Died at St. John’s, on the 29th ult., after a lingering illness, Capt. GEORGE TOUGH, a native of Dorchester, England.

Wednesday, September 30, 1835 Died on Wednesday last, at Hr. Grace, after a protracted illness, Mr. ROBERT MARTIN, planter, aged 66 years.

Died at Tunbridge Wells, England, on the 15th ult., ARTHUR HOLDSWORTH BROOKING, Esq., late collector of the Customs of this island, aged 76 years.

Wednesday, October 7, 1835 Married at Hr. Grace on the 29th ult., by the Rev. J. Burt, ROBERT DOBIE, Esq., Surgeon, of Brigus, to JULIA, youngest daughter of Thomas DANSON, Esq., J.P., of that town.

Died at St. John’s on the 27th ult., after a protracted illness, aged 57 years, Mrs. ELIZABETH TONG, a native of Teignmouth, Devon.

Wednesday, October 14, 1835 Married at Charlotte Town, on Wednesday, 26th August, by the Rev. Louis C. Jenkins, Mr. GEORGE G. MORGAN, of the firm of Bennett, Morgan & Co. of St. John’s, Nfld. to ELIZA BRUNTON, youngest daughter of Mr. William OLIPHANT, formerly of Bennington Park, near Edinburgh, Charlotte Town Gazette, Sept. 1.

Married on Wednesday, 2nd. September, by the Rev. C. Jenkins, Mr. GEORGE EDWARD BLYTH, Searcher and Landwaiter, St. John’s, Nfld., to MARYANN, only daughter of Mr. James RITSON, Charlotte Town, formerly of Aylesford, Hampshire. Ibid.

Wednesday, October 21, 1835 Married at St. John’s on Wednesday last, by the Rev. F.H. Carrington, rector, WILLIAM FREDERICK RENNIE, Esq., third son of the late David Rennie of the firm, Rennie, Stuart & Co., to CAROLINE GROOM, youngest daughter of Thomas WILLIAMS, Esq., merchant, of that town.

Died at Francis Harbor, Labrador, on the 26th August last, Mr. EDWARD BEST, of this town. His remains were brought to this place in the Morning Star and interred on Thursday last.

Wednesday, November 18, 1835 Died at St. John’s on Saturday last, Mr. PHILIP BEENLEN, merchant of that place, aged 73 years.

Wednesday, November 25, 1835 Married on the 12th inst., by the same (Carrington), Mr. MOSES GOSSE of Freshwater, to Miss JOHANNA CONNORS, of the same place.

Married on the 11th inst., by the Rev. G. Ellidge, Wesleyan Missionary, Mr. ROGER BUTT, of Clown’s Cove, to Miss SARAH EFFORD, of Trinity Bay.

Married at Hr. Grace on the 10th inst., by the Very Rev. Charles Dalton, Capt. ANTHONY BRIEN to Miss ELEN, eldest daughter of Mr. Francis RONAN, both of that town.

Married at St. John’s on the 5th inst., by the Rev. Edward Troy, Mr. ROBERT J. PARSONS, proprietor of the Patriot Newspaper, to ELIZA, third daughter of Mr. John FLOOD, all of that town.

Died at Bear’s Cove, on the 17th inst., Mrs. MARY PARSONS.

Died at St. John’s on the 7th inst., aged 63 years, Mrs. MARYANN MORLEY.

Died at sea, on the 13th inst., Mr. RICHARD COOPER, mate of the brig Belle, after a lingering illness of 22 days, aged 21 years. He was a native of Bermuda, whose remains were interred at St. John’s.

Wednesday, December 9, 1835 Married at Lower Island on the 12th ult., by the Rev.T. Anguin, Wesleyan Missionary, Mr. GEORGE CHAMPION to Miss GRACE ROGERS, both of that place.

Married by the same, on the 13th ult., Mr. WILLIAM WHEELER of Lower Island Cove to Miss GRACE SELLERS, of Ochre Pits.

By the same, on the 26th ult., Mr. PHILLIP SHANA to Miss LEWIS, both of Island Cove.

The same day, by the same, Mr. THOMAS STREET, of Island Cove, to Miss ELIZABETH PAUL, of Old Perlican.

At Old Perlican, by the same, on the 17th ult., Mr. WILLIAM BARRETT to Miss ANN BECKETT, both of that place.

Married at Lower Island Cove, on the 23rd ult., by the same, Mr. WILLIAM PINCENT, of New Perlican, to Miss MARY DEAN, of Old Perlican.

Married at Grate’s Cove, on the 25th ult., by the same, Mr. JOSEPH STRINGER, to Miss ELIZABETH JANES, both of that place.

Married at Carbonear, on the 4th inst., by the Rev. G. Ellidge, Wesleyan Missionary, Mr. GEORGE BUTT to Miss TIMUTHUS PIKE, both of that place.

Died at Hr. Grace, on the 1st inst., ALICE, wife of Mr. Patrick KELLY, aged 38 years.

Died on Friday last, Mr. JAMES HOWELL, of this town, aged 52 years, leaving a large family.

Wednesday, December 23, 1835 Married on Sunday last, by the Rev. George Ellidge, Capt. JOSEPH FORD, of the brig Perseverance, to Miss MARTHA ROW, of Trinity.
