Passed peacefully away September 14, 2005 at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre, Helen Corcoran of Mortier. She was 67 years old. Predeceased by husband Simeon, mother Roseanne and father Richard. Left to mourn are sisters Emily Antle, Josephine (Mike) Comerford, Mary Cole and Frances Power (Eugene); brothers Robert (Margarite), Kevin (Sybil) and Tom (Elaine) and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Father Charlie Kelly conducted funeral mass at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, Burin, Friday, September 16 with interment at the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Fox Cove. Funeral arrangements were entrusted tot he care of White Dove Funeral Homes, Burin. Pallbearers were Robert Kennedy, Kevin Kennedy, Tom Kennedy, Eugene Power, Michael Comerford, Vince Antle. Cross bearer was Patrick Power.

DRAKE, Alicia
Passed peacefully away August 27, 2005 at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre, Alicia Drake of Lawn. She was 73 years old. Predeceased by husband Michael, sisters Mary Kelly and Mabel Tarrant and son George. Left to mourn are sons Owen (wife Elizabeth) of Lawn and Rodney (wife Tamara) of Calgary; daughters Maureen (husband Mario Grant) of Lawn and Penny Drake. Also leaving to mourn are sisters Jean Strang (George), niece Deena Piercey, nephew Bradley Strang, step-grandson Darren Walsh, grandchildren Jason and Jordan Drake, Doreen Goberdhan, Lee Grant, Darryl Drake, Cassandra Drake and Shelby Cox and brother-in-law Bill Kelly. Funeral arrangements were entrusted tot he care of White Dove funeral Homes, Marystown. Pallbearers were Bradley Strang, George Strang, Bill Kelly, Dave Drake, Arnold Edwards and Ted Andrews. Passed peacefully away August 28, 2005 at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre, Eliza Ducey of Marystown. She was 88 years old. Predeceased by husband Patrick, daughter-in-law Mabel and son Billy. Left to mourn are sons Jim (wife Maude) Fort McMurray in Alberta, Patrick (wife Blanche) of Marystown, Joe of Marystown, Michael (wife Veronica) of St. Lawrence and Pius (wife Rosiland) of Fort McMurray; daughters Mary Husband (Phonse Warren) of Salt Pone, Nellie (husband Ed Pike) of Gander, Gertrude (husband John Gaulton) of Marystown, Rachel (husband Don Marks) of Burin, Blanche of Marystown and Betty (husband Alvin Kirby) of Marystown. Also leaving to mourn are sister-in-law Catherine Smith, friend Myrtle of Stephenville, 24 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Father Charlie Kelly conducted funeral Mass at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Marystown Tuesday, August 30 at 1 p.m. with interment at the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Marystown. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of White Dove Funeral Home, Marystown. Pallbearers were Jim Ducey, Pad Ducey, Joe Ducey, Mike Ducey, Pius Ducey and John Gaulton. Cross bearer was Corey Ducey.

DUNPHY, Effie
Passed peacefully away at the Health Science Complex in St. John's on Saturday, September 3, 2005, Effie Dunphy of Monkstown, aged 79 years. Predeceased by her husband John, sons Leonard and Patrick and daughter Susie. left with fond and loving memories are daughters Irene (Melvin) Frampton of Monkstown and Cynthia (Keith) of St. John's, sons Max (Sylvia) of St. John's, Wayne (Betty) of Monkstown, Ross (Juanita) of St. Phillips and Craig (Cathy) of Lawn; brothers Max Monk of St. John's, Major Len (Ivy) Monk of Burlington, ON, and Archibald (Elsie) Monk of Clarenville; grandchildren Trudy, Tracey, Terry, Cynthia, Tammy, Roy, Michael, Mark, Karen, Wendy, Joy, Adam, Alicia, Jonathon and Chad; 7 great-grandchildren and a large number of relatives and friends. Rested at the Salvation Army Citadel in Monkstown. Funeral took place at 2 p.m. on Monday, September 5, 2005 at the Salvation Army Citadel in Monkstown with interment at Salvation Army Cemetery in Monkstown. In her memory flowers are accepted or a Memorial Fund to the Dialysis Unit at Waterford Hospital or the Salvation Army Cemetery Fund in Monkstown.

Passed away suddenly at his home in Little Bay, Michael Farrell. He was 61 years old. Predeceased by mother Roseanna, father Pius, brother Edward and brother-in-law Leonard Hannam. Left to mourn his daughter Deanna of Little Bay. Also leaving to mourn are sisters Agnes Hannam, Gertrude Lambe (Cecil) and Elizabeth kelly (Joe); brothers Dominic Farrell (Rita), Anthony Farrell (Bride), Pius (Geraldine) and Ignatius and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Peacefully at his home in Burlington on Tuesday, August 30, 2005 after a lengthy illness. Beloved husband and best friend of Elizabeth "Liz" (nee Price) for 38 years.
